BurnPrevention
Donottouchanypartofanoperatingengine. Allowtheenginetocoolbeforeanymaintenanceis performedontheengine.
Contactwithhighpressurefuelmaycause fluid penetrationandburnhazards.Highpressurefuelspraymaycausea firehazard.Failuretofollowtheseinspection,maintenanceandserviceinstructionsmaycausepersonalinjuryordeath.
Aftertheenginehasstopped,youmustwaitfor60 secondsinordertoallowthefuelpressuretobe purgedfromthehighpressurefuellinesbeforeany serviceorrepairisperformedontheenginefuellines.
Allowthepressuretobepurgedintheairsystem,in thehydraulicsystem,inthelubricationsystem,orin thecoolingsystembeforeanylines, fittingsorrelated itemsaredisconnected.
Coolant
Whentheengineisatoperatingtemperature,the enginecoolantishot.Thecoolantisalsounder pressure.Theradiatorandalllinestotheheatersor totheenginecontainhotcoolant.
Anycontactwithhotcoolantorwithsteamcancause severeburns.Allowcoolingsystemcomponentsto coolbeforethecoolingsystemisdrained.
Checkthecoolantlevelaftertheenginehasstopped andtheenginehasbeenallowedtocool.
Ensurethatthe fillercapiscoolbeforeremovingthe fillercap.The fillercapmustbecoolenoughtotouch withabarehand.Removethe fillercapslowlyin ordertorelievepressure.
Coolingsystemconditionercontainsalkali.Alkalican causepersonalinjury.Donotallowalkalitocontact theskin,theeyes,orthemouth.
Oils
Hotoilandhotlubricatingcomponentscancause personalinjury.Donotallowhotoiltocontactthe skin.Also,donotallowhotcomponentstocontact theskin.

Arcingorsparkingcouldcausea fire.Secure connections,recommendedwiring,andcorrectly maintainedbatterycableswillhelptopreventarcing orsparking.

Ensurethattheengineisstopped.Inspectalllines andhosesforwearorfordeterioration.Thehoses mustbe correctlyrouted.Thelinesandhosesmust haveadequatesupportandsecureclamps.
