CAREER NOTES Amber enters her senior season after an excellent junior campaign. The highlights for her last year was defeating Northwestern College and making it to the DAC tournament championship game. Amber has steadily improved since she was a freshman at Mines and her senior season should prove to be her best yet. PERSONAL Amber is the daughter of Kevin and Shirley DeWeerd. She brings hard work and leadership to the SDM team and Amber loves to compete. She is described as being athletic, nice and optimistic. Her advice to kids is work hard and you’ll achieve your goals.

CAREER NOTES Jessica comes to South Dakota from Arizona where she played basketball for the Tuba City High School Warriors. She graduated third in her class and was the team MVP as a senior. She was also an all state selection and was a member of the state all tournament team. PERSONAL Jessica is the daughter of Raymond and Minnie Tsignine. She is a Native American with Navajo and Hopi decent. She is the only girl in her family who’s been to Africa and she enjoys basketball because it is fun and it keeps her busy and focused. Jessica is described as being funny and quiet and if she were to win the lottery, she said she would invest the money ... and do a little shopping.

CAREER NOTES Playing basketball in Littleton, Colo., Whitney earned first team all conference academic two years in a row and was all conference honorable mention two years as well. She brings a lot of heart to the Hardrockers along with a lot of intensity. PERSONAL Whitney is the daughter of Denise and Doug Ashford. Whitney loves the intensity of the game and really wants the ball in her hands. Her advice to youngsters would be always give 100 percent and earn what you get.
