Ariz.), Josh Sherman (defensive back from Colome, S.D.), Andrew Isom (linebacker from Superior, Neb.), Houston Bashus (defensive back from Bismarck, N.D.), Gregory Blankenship (linebacker from Kinnear, Wyo.), Donovan Brill (defensive back from Elko, Nev.), Tanner Ireland (defensive back from Albuquerque, N.M.), Eric Yeash (linebacker from Louiseville, Colo.), Brian Freed (offensive lineman from Staunton, Va.), Joe Sanchez (quarterback from Gilbert, Ariz.), and Todd Sherman (offensive lineman from Winner, S.D.). The individual statistics from the 2009 season speaks well for these upperclassmen and makes the 2010 campaign look optimistic. The Hardrockers posted some impressive marks which they plan to improve upon this year. Offensively, Dale averaged 84.3 yards a game rushing, scored eight rushing touchdowns and scored three receiving TD's. Ostheimer had a conference‐high 66 receptions and caught seven touchdown passes while averaging 96.6 yards a game. Russell threw for 1,890 yards, made good on 172 of 310 completions and threw 15 TD passes on the season. Smith, who earned the first‐ever All‐American status for the Hardrockers, was 100 percent on the season in PATS (32/32), had a school record 52‐yard field goal, was the team's second leading scorer with 65 points and broke every kicking record SDM tracks. Defensively, Luchini led the team with 90 tackles; Lunzman had the most interceptions in 2009 with four, which he returned for 124 yards. Everett Brill recorded the most sacks on the season with 5.5 and also had the most tackles‐for‐loss with 19.5 to go along with the most forced fumbles on the team with three. The Hardrockers also have a very skilled group of freshmen that will develop into fine football players while at SD Mines. The Hardrockers have approximately 30 new freshmen this season, most of which will become redshirt players, the most the Hardrockers have had in quite a while. There will, however, also be a group of underclassmen that are expected to contribute right away, either on the field or in a support role on the depth chart. New faces on the defensive squad include: Austin Adam (defensive lineman from Lenexa, Kan.), Karch Foley (defensive back from Philip, S.D.), Patrick Shaw (defensive back from Gilbert, Ariz.), and Kelby Wilkison (defensive back from Laramie, Wyo.). Fresh to the Hardrockers’ offense are:
