HR Certificate Program Are you learning HR as you go? Did you miss out on formal training? Take that next important step in advancing your career! SDEA’s HR Certificate Program! Comprised of nine (9) required courses and three (3) additional electives, this program covers topics professionals in the human resources field encounter on a regular basis. The courses are taught by top human resource practioners, and tailored towards practical job-related situations universal to all organizations despite industry or size.

Registration in the Human Resources Certificate program for SDEA members requires a $100 application fee. The Non-Member fee is $150. This fee covers administrative costs and the final exam. Courses are paid for individually as students register for and take each one. Classes taken up to six (6) months prior to registration in the certificate program can be counted towards the program. Students should complete the twelve (12) courses within two (2) years of registration. All classes must be completed before the final exam will be offered.

Supervisory Skills Certificate New supervisor or manager? This workshop will break them in fast. Experienced supervisor or manager? Polish their skills and keep them energized. Participants will feel motivated and prepared to tackle tough situations. The skills and abilities that an employee possesses to be an excellent individual contributor are not the same skills and abilities essential to be a successful supervisor or manager. In order for supervisors and managers to be accomplished in this ever- expanding role, they must think in a proactive sense and not reactive—always stay one step ahead of the changes. That means continually updating skills and seeking out all the freshest ideas, latest strategies and cutting-edge techniques. In this workshop, participants will get the most up-to-date information and exciting discoveries available on how to manage change, motivate, discipline, delegate, inspire, and problem solve--all the critical skills needed to excel as a supervisor or manager. This workshop will equip participants with proven supervisory and managerial techniques that can be put into action immediately. This program is a non-credit program. Participants meeting the minimum attendance requirements will receive a certificate that documents up to 36 hours of instruction in supervision and management.
