We have lots of ways to make the transition to Marston Vale Middle School a positive experience for your child. We are proud of our strong links with lower schools. Marston Vale Middle School provides a safe and secure environment.
Curriculum
When children feel safe and secure, they are able to concentrate on doing their best and making excellent progress. All staff work hard to ensure there is a positive, safe and supportive atmosphere in school, focusing on positive behaviour, ensuring pupils respect and support one another. We encourage and praise them; highlighting and celebrating acts of kindness, hard work and good behaviour. We want our pupils to look forward to coming to school, to build firm relationships, to appreciate and respect differences. Parents and Carers receive regular reports and assessments providing information on pupils’ progress and achievements, our aim is to work with parents and carers to make every child at Marston Vale Middle believe that they can succeed.
The school aims to provide a wide range of opportunities for pupils, to enable them to explore, extend and develop their individual talents and abilities to the full. We seek to promote high standards of literacy and numeracy and to develop the pupils’ ability to communicate ideas. It is our belief that these aspirations will be achieved within a school community which emphasises the central importance of developing good personal relationships, and in its acceptance of the need for order and discipline, seeks to treat individuals with equal sensitivity, tolerance and fairness.

opportunities Beyond the Classroom

One of the most important aspects of school is developing talents and interests outside of normal lessons. Marston Vale offers a large range of extra-curricular activities at lunchtime and after school and we do encourage pupils to participate. Activities include orchestra, choir and drama. There are numerous sports clubs such as football, netball, dance, cricket, tennis and athletics. Inter-school matches are held in some of these activities and the school is consistently successful in inter-school competitions. Pupils have opportunities to be involved in activities which promote independence, teamwork, responsibility and leadership. We also have an environmental area where pupils have the opportunity to grow and sell produce.
