WE ARE A SCHOOL WITH A GERMAN HERITAGE AND THE BEST EUROPEAN VALUES AND BELIEFS

• official German School Abroad since 1909 • 3 curriculums: German ,PYP and Kokugo. • German, English andJapanese is taught as a mother tongue and as a foreign language • We embrace European and international values of (私達が大切にして いることは): • solidarity (結束), equal opportunities (機会均等), tolerance and respect (寛 大さと尊敬), knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity (異文化につ いての知識と理解)

AN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL … • We are an IB World School (the school was authorized as an IB World School in 2005). • We admit children of all nationalities. For Primary school their English needs to be sufficient. Currently children of 15 nationalities attend our school. • We offer instruction in three languages. Our students and teachers are multilingual. The language of instruction is in English. • 国際バカロレア学校です。 • 全ての国の子供達を受け入れる。 • 3つの言語で教育します。

„FOREST“ (TRANSDISCIPLINARY APPROACH) • Math e. g. tables/diagrams of tree heights • General Science e.g. animals and plants, how people use the forest

• Language e.g. creative writing and dictation • Ethics Environmental issues: protecting and using forests • Handicrafts e.g. making wooden toys • Art e.g. „forest monsters“ (land art)


ONE SCHOOL, TWO BRANCHES • The school is organized into TWO MAIN BRANCHES: • The European Branch (English Programme) • The German Branch (Bilingual Programme – English/German) • Parents choose which department their children join. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS • Early Years Foundation stage (2 – 4 years):Children start in the Pre-Kindergarten and then move on to Kindergarten • Kindergarten has two branches: Kindergarten (morning program) and kindergarten (whole day program, limitation of 16)

• Primary School (5 – 11 years): Preschool and Grades 1 - 6


MUSIC German, English and Japanese songs to create music, using their imagination Two music lessons in English every week P.E./SWIMMING Our students benefit from an excellent and very creative P.E. program athletics, gymnastics, dance, games,basketball, football, swimming etc.

The school choir performs at special events


SPECIAL SCHOOL PROGRAMS Wednesday Afternoon Program: with different focuses (art, sports)

Workshops

Saturday School: An English program for bilingual students from ages 5 to 11 A German program for students with native German proficiency (currently for children from ages 5 - 16) A French program for native speakers Extra Curricular Activities Basketball, Drama, Gymnastics Summer School


SCHOOL EVENTS Traditional events are part of our school life with commitment of the whole school community to celebrate our roots and our identity‌ Enrollment Ceremony, Oktoberfest, Sports day, St. Martin, St. Nicholas, Christmas Party, Carnival, Easter Egg Hunt, Sleepover Party We reach out to the community.
