Lillyan would know about what’s in fashion. Before opening Ragtime in spring 2014, she successfully ran The Family Jewels Vintage Clothing in Chelsea NYC for over 35 years, catching the attention of celebrities like Elvis Costello, Angelina Jolie and designers Armani, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. Now she’s happily brought her passion for fashion to the Catskills. The first things to greet you as you step into Ragtime is the neatly organized retro and contemporary clothing, the pottery, artwork and mid-century home furnishings collections, other oddities and the very noticeable sound of oldies music wafting out the door. EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it! They delivered the papers, until they made the headlines… Direct from Broadway comes Disney’s Newsies. This Tony Award-winning hit inspired by the real-life ‘Newsboy Strike of 1899,’ tells the story of a band of underdogs who become unlikely heroes when they stand up to the most powerful men in New York. With music by Alan Menken & Jack Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein, this rousing musical will be one for the papers!

Bye, Bye Birdie – August 1-13 Put on a happy face! It’s the 1960s and Army-bound rock star Conrad Birdie's farewell appearance in Sweet Apple, Ohio is the talk of the town. Crazy for You, A New Gershwin Musical! August 15-27 Crazy for You, a Gershwin Musical Comedy Revue, is a Tony Award-winning evening of high energy comedy, mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers (this show is tap-dancing at its finest!) and, of course, the glorious music of the Gershwin’s. I recall a time when we couldn’t get high-speed internet in these parts.

The Graduate August 29 – September 3 “Are you seducing me, Mrs. Robinson?” Benjamin’s got excellent grades, very proud parents and, since he helped Mrs. Robinson with her zipper, a fine future behind him. A cult novel, a classic film, a quintessential hit of the 60s made famous by Dustin Hoffman & Ann Bancroft, now Benjamin's disastrous sexual odyssey is brought vividly to life in this stage adaption of the classic story. This iconic play is not to be missed!

Take a journey out of the zoo and onto the stage with your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends from the blockbuster DreamWorks film. Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends – Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo – have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape – with the help of some prodigious penguins – to explore the world. Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore and an upbeat score, Madagascar will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!” The Theatre for Young Audiences version of this show was designed specifically for a handful of adults to perform for young audiences, making it a great choice for TYA programs or educational tours.
