CÉCILE MCLORIN SALVANT A special lunchtime performance by jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant (top), joined by pianist Aaron Diehl, bassist Paul Sikivie and drummer Rodney Green. The marvelous 24-year-old singer, winner of the 2010 Thelonious Monk Competition, possesses a deep, velvety voice, rhythmic poise and a sublime feel for the blues. This incredible double bill pairs the Christian McBride Trio with Cécile McLorin Salvant and her trio. Mr. McBride is an extraordinary bassist whose trio with pianist Christian Sands and drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr., plays music rooted in the simplicity of storytelling through bluesy, straight-ahead jazz. Their elegant approach pays utmost respect to the history of the music.

Hailed as one of the world’s leading tenors, German-Canadian tenor Michael Schade (left) has performed throughout the world’s leading opera and concert houses. He has been a regular guest of the Salzburg Festival for many years, performing with major orchestras across North America and Europe excelling as a recitalist.
