Project main proposals:
Design company: Sau Taller d’Arquitectura
Define the edge between the city and the mountains as a surface, a space occupied by domesticated fields, a place between nature and city where you can find community vegetable gardens, open air green spaces, ... domesticated nature between the concrete of the city and the wildness of the natural park.
Project type: Landscape / Urban Planning Location: Barcelona / Spain The project area is located in the north of Barcelona. The site is the meeting point of some of the cities of the metropolitan area of Barcelona and the main entrance to the city by car and by train. Furthermore, in this place is were Collserola natural parc, Serra Marina natural Parc and Besos river used to meet. Nowadays the relations between these ecosystems are fragmentated by the road and rail infraestructures. This infrastructures also fragmentated the connections of the neighboorhoods and cities converging on this site.
Recover the flow of the green spaces system of barcelona metropolitan area, connecting the Collserola natural park with Besòs river and Serra marina, the mountain system on the other side of the highway. Recovering the valley section of the place and getting a stronger and continuous ecosystem. We also include the green spaces system of the city of Barcelona to this huge green system. Connect "La Trinitat" neighboorhood to the neighboorhoods of its boundaries in order to solve its isolation situation. In conclusion, weaving biological and urban flows in order to improve society and ecosystem toghether. Ecotone between nature and city. Space of transition between the two ecosystems

Weaving all the layers of the territory
Reconnect, widen, strenghten, revitaize. To achieve these objectives some propdifferent interventions are proposed. Interventions generating sinergies between them and the existing elements of the area. Aproaching different fields like society, enviroment and infraestructures in a holistic masterplan reweaving all the layers of the territory. Interventions: 1. Besòs river park ampliation 2. Vallbona Ford 3. New entrances to the Besòs river park 4. Recovering of the agricultural activity 5. Water and biodiversity research and innovation center of the metropolitan area of Barcelona 6. Rec Comtal restoration ( historical water canal of Barcelona) 7. Restoration of the area between Besòs river and Marina mountain range. 8. “Les aigües” green bridge 9. pedestrian bridge 10. Francesc Macià avenue green cover 11. Biodiversity green bridge

Phase 2. New entraces to the river park Constructive phases of the green bridge of Biodiversity.
First approachment to the geometry of the bridge of the Biodiversity
One of the requirements for the construction of the green bridge of Biodiversity is to not interrupt the transport flows. The building process of the bridge has been designed to achieve this aim.
The idea is to build a structure with an optimized geometry that minimizes bending and shearing tensions on itself. To achieve that we made an analyis using inverted catenary archs with the propotional weights that the structure must support in the future.

Phase 2. First metal bars.
Phase 3. Recovering the area between Besòs river and Marina mountain range, the agricultural activity, restoration of “El Rec Comtal” and refurbishment of the old building into the new water and biodiversity research and innovation center of the metropolitan area of Barcelona

Phase 4. Complete the metal space frame
Checking compatibility between road and railway gauges and structure geometry. Phase 4. Construction of “Les Aigües” green bridge and a pedestrian bridge over Besòs river. Phase 5. Building the concrete slab.
Phase 6. Cover the structure with soil and vegetation.
