SAS Nexus still owns title in Taekwondo by: Logatoc and Rondera

Taekwondo is one of the hardest sports because it needs strong determination and self-confidence. Players of Nexus did their best in the 1st set wherein Princess Jerrely Matutina won. According to her, “Pareho kaming magaling at thankful na nanalo ako.” Another

Aside from her, other LEAD students who showed off their skills and bagged the awards in Taekwondo were Erick Tolentino, Jennylyn Lumandac, Arnold de los Reyes, Jerilou Janda and Grace San Juan.

Nexus’ duo burns flames on the floor by: JenMi-elle

The breathtaking event ignited the flames on the dance floor from representatives of different school who showed off their body movements during the Dance Sports Competition, Tuesday night of August 23. Despite placing 3rd, Nexus duo Jaireh Faye Salazar and Paul Adrian Mansia’s astonishing performance on the dance floor will never be forgotten. Their bearing and stance was an obvious additional point that made them a perfect combination bringing excitement and thrill to the court. (Akalain mo ‘yon, ang bilis ng kilos mo, huli ka pa rin?) - Pwede din namang sila ‘yong kasama sa mga TIGA-SIN. Tiga-hanap ng nawawalang players, at mga “officials o coaches” kaya. Tiga-basa ng mga poster at announcement. TAINGA - Hmmmm, kakaiba ito, Sila ‘yong mga malakas ang pandinig sa mga announcements. Kapag nakarinig, sabay pasa, “uy sila na daw!” Minsan, TIGASIN din. Tiga-sagap ng side comments, tiga-sagap ng impormasyon para ipakalat sa buong campus. BIBIG – Ayan! Sila yong mga “announcer” kapag may narinig kang sumisigaw-sigaw mula kung saan, may microphone man o wala, sila ‘yon. Kakaibang trabaho no? Boses, laway at lalamunan ang puhunan. - Sila din yong mga “coaches”, makinig ka kung ayaw mong magkalat. Sila yong nagsesermon at paulit-ulit ang sinasabi. (Pero aminin mo, may natutunan ka naman ‘di ba?) - Yong mga “cheerers” kasama din. Kahit labas na ang mga litid kasisiga, ,okay lang. Go!go! pa din. KAMAY – Sila naman ‘yong mga TIGASIN ng quarters. Tiga-saing, tigahugas, tiga-luto. Tiga-hain din ng pagkain at tiga-bilang ng players at pagkain na dapat iserve. - Sila din ‘yong tiga-picture at tiga-sulat ng mga ganito, mga ganyan para updated naman lahat. PAA – Hmm, paano nga ba makakatayo kung walang paa? Sila naman ‘yong mga dakilang players at mga contestants ng iba’t ibang event. May tumatakbo, tumatalon, may sumasayaw, may nagatatahi ng daan dahil sa nerbyos na nararamdaman. - Sila din ‘yong paikot-ikot sa campus para mag-interview, para maghahatid ng pagkain at siyempre tiga-takbo ng tubig!

Dances rekindle culture One of the categories in the much awaited Cultural Competition was the Creative Dance Contest which surprised the crowd in the evening of August 23 at 6:00 at the MSC Covered Court. The event inspired the competitors by our own astonishing Philippine Culture hosted by Ms. Arianne Kaye Sager and Mr. William Shane Maling (AB-English 4 students). The first to perform was Matrix, followed by E-nnovators, Aces, Blue Flames, Nexus and Bullsharks. Nexus team made the audience go wild with their creative butterfly theme, Nexus got the 2nd place. It was a very reminiscing event of the night having

Nexus Volleyball Women slash Aces With every serve and every spike of the players smiles registered on their faces as they surpassed their match. Nexus’ Volleyball Team (Women) won over the Aces with the score of 50-38 through the help of their coach Mr. Nolito Ruiz and of course the hard work and gallant actions of the players. On the first set, Nexus players amused their audience with their best performances in the game. They’ve got the first score by the great spike of Ms. Lyndel de Luna. As the game continued to the second set, there was a tension between the two teams because Nexus had to do some catching up to win. At the midst of the game, Aces had a timeout and a few minutes after, Nexus’ coach Mr. Nolito Ruiz called for time out. He said to his players “you have to beat Aces without any error in this set”. He was confident that his players could make it because he believed in his players’ ability. At the end of the game, they rejoiced for winning with the score of 50-38. Nexus won in the Volleyball Men division last August 24, held at MSC Covered Court. The team won in the first set with the score of 25 against 10. Unity and calmness of the Nexus players were witnessed. In set two, it was a little bit breathtaking because in the middle of the game, the two opposing teams were tie (2424) which made the audience feel excited. August 24, 2011. The basketball game between Nexus and Bullshark took place at the MSC covered court, both team were determined to win the game; fortunately, Nexus over took the Bullshark on the first set with the score of 25-10. The Bullshark boosted up their level of performance to defeat Nexus and succeeded in gaining the score during the second set. On the third set, Nexus knotted the net for Bullshark, they were much determined to win and prevented the other team from recovering. The game continued with running points after the other, but in
