SAS gets ready for the College Olympics 2012 The Intramural Meet of the Marinduque State College gets nearer and everyone is busy preparing for it. A week ago, the School of Arts and Sciences (Nexus) had a meeting to talk about the plans for the upcoming events — the t-shirt, logo, uniforms as well as food for the players and the students. Players, faculty consultants for each event led and motivated their members. The try-outs were conducted for three-consecutive Saturdays before the Midterm Examination. The School of Arts & Sciences (Boac) combines with the School of Arts and Sciences ( Sta. Cruz). Everyone hopes that this team-up will work out for the welfare of students of both campuses. by Zaira Camille Maac

SAS Bets for Mr & Ms College Olympics ‘12
Jaireh Faye Salazar is the youngest among the three children of Rogelio Salazar and Zoraida Salazar. She was born on May 30, 1995 at Ihatub, Boac, Marinduque. She is taking up Bachelor of Arts in Communication and is in her second year. She has this simple beauty that attracts every one as she passes the corridor. Her personality requires a certain place and it is to be one of the candidates for Search for Ms. Olympics ‗12. Mr. Ricky de Luna Pereda, 22 years old from Purok Bayanan, Matuyatuya, Torrijos, Marinduque. Eighth of the nine children of Valentin Pereda and Epifania Pereda; he stands 5‘9‖ and weighs 65 kgs.With his pleasing personality, humbleness and a body to die for, what else would you look for? He is the perfect model to represent the School of Arts and Sciences.
The Dean of School of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Julieta L. Go stressed on unity among students of the School of Arts and Sciences. She said that whatever is the outcome of this event, the important is the involvement of the students . She is expecting that students from AB Political Science and School of Arts and Sciences will show camaraderie towards each. other.
AB Political Science joins Nexus Sta. Cruz students major in Political Science will be joining Nexus during the intramural meet. Thus, they will a big help to Nexus especially in the academic and sports events. Their presence will add confidence for every player of Nexus. AB Political Science students were known for being good debaters and SAS will have a big chance of winning. Same ways on sports events. Since Nexus means ―we are one‖ and thru cooperating with each other it is a big chance for us to succeed. She also said that even though they do not have the ultimate force to compete in all of the events this MSC Olympics 2012-2013., she emphasized that through this, students will develop their ability not only academically but also physically. - Angelica O. the Olympics will not be a success. Apparently, we have come from a long way; preparing and organizing this event. Now is the time to strengthen sportsmanship in every competitor and unity among us supporters. Time to show up! Time to put our best foot forward. Time to heed our roles and share whatever we have, to take part in every task; those times spent on never ending practices were now just a mere part of sports experiences.. It is about time to unveil and witness the output of this event.

2 Proud! Kau lang b pde? May mga taong biniyayaan ng talino, pero bakit may taong biniyayaan pa ng too much confidence. Oo nga, magaling sila, medyo nag-i-stand out sa klase at sa ibang aspeto, pwedeng sabihing matalino at marami silang alam pero hindi na kailangan pang ipagsigawan ‘yun. Sa klase sila yung, kung makapag comment sa gawa mo daig pa yung prof? sa mga school activities, sila yung pinakahuling makagets
mga test, makataas lang ng score proud na? minsan nga kahit mahirap yung test, mani lang sa kanila, edi sila na! Pwede namang manahimik lang diba? Pag may mga hinain kayong pwedeng makaapekto sa iba. Tsaka kung alam nyong matalino kayo at maalam, be humble na lang and don’t be too proud kasi may mga tao ding biniyayaan ng katahimikang nagtataglay ng mas malaking porsyento ng kagalingan.
Proud King & Queen .Siya yung tipong dapat tama lahat, kahit ginagawa at sinasabi nila tama lahat. Sila yung tipong simple bumanat pero nakakaasar. Pano ba naman kasi akala mo naman alam nila lahat. Kung makapagpinpoint ng mali mo eh parang napakaperfect nila (hoy! Dahan-dahan naman! Masama yun!) Sila din yung tipong mahilig mag compare ng gawa ng iba. Yun bang tipong, “uy mali ka, dapat ganito sa gawa ko.” (makapagcompare wagas!) Wala namang masama sa pagiging perfectionist, kaso nga lang, kahit san kayo tumingin, hindi lahat ng makikita natin totoo at tama. Kaya hinay hinay lang. lahat naman tayo nagkakamali, kaya nga sometimes it’s a matter of reading beyond the lines. And dig down deep para malaman nyo kung ano ang kahalagahan ng tunay na kaganda-

Sila rin yung mga tipong laging intayan at late magpasa ng subject, yan ang barakada,sama sama sa hirap at ginhawa.Maraming nangangalat na katulad nila dito, samahang walang kapantay, lalo na ngayong Intrams ashan niyo para silang virus, nakakahawa nagsisimula sa paunti unti hanggang sa kumalat. Pero isa lang ang alam ko .. masaya ako at nakilala ko ang mga katulad nila.
Intrams, Team up? Ito yung grupong lagi mong makikitang pakalat-kalat at maingay. Yung tipong pag nakita mo yung isa sa kanila parating na din yung iba, kasi ni minsan hindi sila naghiwa – hiwalay. Sila din yung tipong simula hanggang umaga hanggang sa matapos ang araw walang ginawa kungdi magdaldalan. Sa kanila walang qualification, ang mahalaga basta totoo ka go lang ng go, accepted ka. Sila rin yung mga pasaway at madalas na maingay hindi lang sa labas pati na rin sa loob ng klase.

Sweetbabe, Heartthrob? Edi ikaw na! “Y ou Already!” Ikaw na! Sila ung super feeling. Yan yung akala mo sila yung presidente ng campus, (as in!). Pwedeng sila din yung mahilig magsocialize para lang ipakita yung kahanginan at kayabangan nila. At sila rin yung tipong kung magsalita akala mo parang napakaperfect nila. (kamusta naman yun?). Sila rin yung tipong mahilig sena, umeksena, (gusto sa kanila lahat!). Matatalino rin naman kayo sana naman gamitin niyo sa ayos at wastong Who says he’s not inspiring? A man of wisdom and does not hesitate to voice out his opinions but always considerate of the feelings of others. Oftentimes, we see him pass by the school corridor; plain, simple and ordinary student in school uniform. But what is the real personality behind that simplicity? Rafael Constantino R. Seño was born on July 10, 1982 having the zodiac sign of cancer. La hug, Cebu City is where he
was born then moved to Cagayan de Oro and started visiting Zamboanga and stayed there for a year. His family stayed at Marinduque during his third grade then went to Manila and remained there for good. As a student, he is very studi-
SAS Timeless Man of the Hour Who would have thought that this man could manage everything with only limited time? Aside from his hectic schedule as the unit manager of the School of Arts and Sciences, he still finds time to fulfill his family obligations. Everyone could easily recognize him for he is tall, dark and handsome; man who always wear a cap, that‘s he, Mr. Eric Maglacas a college lecturer. His dedication to his job gives the students a light of hope that whatever happens, we are united as one. The positiveness, willingness, and never ending support he gives to everyone make them feel a winner already. ―We may not win in all the events, but what matters is we do our best and we show we can stand as one.‖ he said. ous, he spent his primary at Don Luis Hidalgo and continued his studies at St. James College in Quezon City and graduated with an excellence award. During his tertiary level, he studied again at UP Diliman taking up the same course. His guiding principle, ―Never chase success. Chase excellence, for when you have it success will come chasing after you‖ makes him successful in all aspects of life. He was a specialist of wireless internet, email technology and other American online. He handled business for American clients‘ services for dell computers, including home and small business which are departments at dell. In 2007, he was at the call center and worked as technical executive for time warner cable and stayed there for a year and a half. He transferred to chase banks of America as financial adviser wherein he approved
and denied car loans and tell them what they can do with their money. He is very good in multi-asking thus, he can do at least five things at the same time. In 2010, he was a technical executive for financial software and handling American stock market at Thomson Reuters. See how far he‘d come at his age of thirty, now who can says that this man is ordinary behind his simplicity.
For further pursuit of knowledge, he used to sail back here in Marinduque for business and teach language, he also studies at Marinduque State College, BACommunication. He chooses communication because he believes that, ―Anyone can teach English but not everyone can teach effective communication.‖ -Rose Ann Roldan

―Food is the best comforter of our stomach‖. We usually hear this to those people who loved to eat. The sound of hot boiling oils and the delicious smell of fresh cooked banana, patties, hot dogs, French fries, siomai and siopao spread into the air. Students who are standing, sitting and waiting for their turn to buy food while having conversation with their friends or classmates, the coming in and going out of the students are usual scene in the food corner beside the SICS building. This food corner starts to operate this school year 2012-2013 that complete of seven stall and serves an affordable food. Students from the nearest department such as SAS, SICS and SIT can buy their meal or snack here. A quarter number of students can accommodate by the place compare to the canteens that can be found inside the college. Some faculty member from the nearest department are also fond of buying and eating food here. The owner of each stall is nice and very approachable in every way, no wonder why all of us are fond of coming back to buy foods.

Some of the students devour and enjoy their food while it is still warm, but not too hot, together with the juice under the tree in food corner. It is quite relaxing here while eating and having conversation. The place is not too noisy that you have to shout to hear you but even a whisper can be heard by the person besides you. Delicious food and aroma, affordable snacks and meal, and nearest place to by food? It is all in one in the MSC-food corner!

We‘ve been together for more than a year Encountered laughter, sorrow and fear And it just makes us even stronger, But now distance makes our love fonder.
Who will know that they exist here? Hurrah! Let‘s toast and have a beer But do we need to celebrate? Coz you‘ll just puke if they are enumerable.
We are now in our separate ways, Our rings remind that our love stays. Texting and calling each other is our assurance That it will never be the distance.
Huh! Just look the way they walk Even the way they talk Guess what a great paper they are I just wish they could get far.
Kilometers, meters, hours, minutes and seconds How I wish that it‘s just as easy as eating almonds. The distance that separate us, I know deep in my heart it will never be a hindrance.
Life is full of memory Like a song with soft melody We can feel the harmony That sees how life was meant to be
