GOOD EATS Who doesn't love a good tiki bar?! The Honu is downtown Dunedin's original tiki bar and Polynesian restaurant. You'll feel like you've been transported to the Hawaiian Islands. May 31-October 1, WedFriday 3-6 enjoy Aloha Hour featuring happy hour pricing on food and drinks. And then there is my favorite...Ukele music on Thursdays at 6. DOG OF THE MONTH
Bandit, AKA the Salty Dog, is a 14-year old wired hair fox terrier who has lived most of his 4-legged life as a Dunedin resident. He has been dubbed the Salty Dog due to his love of swimming at the Honeymoon Island Dog Beach and in backyard swimming pools, although in his older age he prefers to lounge on a raft in the pool! His hobbies include buggying anywhere on his golf cart, boating to lunch in Clearwater Beach, taking walks through Hammock Park, and an occasional “yappy hour” at the end of a long week. Bandit loves Downtown Dunedin and is featured twice in the Skip’s doggie mural, and also has his picture hung on Rosie’s doggie wall. If you ever spot Bandit in downtown, come say hi and give him a pat, he loves the attention!
LOCAL RIVALRY! Enjoy America's pastime and a local rivalry. The Dunedin Blue Jays will be playing the Clearwater Threshers @ Threshers stadium May 30th-June 4th.

FUN HISTORY FACTS! The first land deed was recorded in 1852 by Richard L. Garrison, only seven years after Florida became a state. Although it was George L. Jones who put up a sign over his General Store in 1870 that read "Jonesboro," a petition in 1882 by two Scottish merchants, J.0. Douglas and James Somerville, officially named the Post Office, then the town itself, Dunedin. The town became incorporated in 1899 and a city in 1925. ~source: www.dunedin.gov
