ENGLISH SUPERTITLES
Read program notes and plot synopses, listen to audio clips and watch current production videos available prior to each opera’s opening night.
Like the subtitles that accompany foreign language films, all of our operas are performed with supertitles—English paraphrases of the text projected onto a screen above the stage and visible from all locations.
PRE-OPERA TALKS Before every performance, charismatic music scholars present a 25-minute overview of the story, characters and music, with insights on the composer and historical background (except Opening Night, Sep 5, 2014). Talks begin 55 minutes prior to curtain. Visit sfopera.com/operatalks.
Join BRAVO! CLUB and meet other operaloving, young professionals ages 21–40. Members enjoy educational and social events and ticket discounts throughout the year. Visit sfopera.com/bravo.
