Check in time begins at 4:00pm, and check-out time is 11:00am. For your convenience we offer Express Check-Out directly from your guest room. Simply dial the Express Check-Out number provided on your Resort Key Card sleeve from your in-room phone and await the dial tone. Please note that the Front Desk will require an E-mail address should you wish to receive a copy of your final statement.

The Baytowne Conference Center also includes the Grand Lawn, ideal for large-scale outdoor functions, and the Magnolia Ballroom, the largest on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast. Sandestin Storage Lot

428.1692 Boats, trailers of any kind, RV motor homes, camper trailers, buses, golf carts, mini-bikes, motorcycles and other motorized scooters are not permitted to park on property and are prohibited on the private roads of the resort. Enjoy our award-winning sugar-white sand and clear Gulf of Mexico waters with the services provided by Sandestin Recreation. Beach chairs, umbrellas and cabanas are available for rent.

Sunscreen and beach-related products are sold in the beach huts. Resort guests can enjoy one hour complimentary use of kayaks and boogie boards per day of stay. Rent your beach set-up, including use of two beach chairs and an umbrella, with your Resort Key Card. See the attendant located on the beach. Sandestin towels are available for purchase at the beach as well. Please bring your credit card or Resort Key Card with you for payment, as cash is not accepted.

Bicycles*

267.6363 Tour Sandestin’s expansive property on a bicycle. Both adult and children’s single-speed coaster bicycles are yours for four hours a day, two per reservation during your stay simply by showing your Resort Key Card at Sandestin Bike Rentals located at the Baytowne Marina (please call for hours of operation). Helmets, baskets, training wheels, child seats and locks are also available. You must be 18 or older to rent a bicycle. Overnight rentals are available for an additional fee. * Florida law requires all riders age 16 and younger to wear helmets.

Blast Arcade and Laser Maze

Captain Rex’s Sailing Adventure

The Dunes Putting Course

Enjoy this 18-hole, par 51 putting course that is fun for the whole family. Located just north of Beachside Towers, this facility is beautifully landscaped and features three themed sections – Coastal, Wetlands, and Forest – for a variety of play. Call for rates.

Fitness Center

Fishing

Fishing is always great in Sandestin with more than 72 stocked freshwater ponds (large mouth bass) as well as some of the best saltwater fishing from shore or the Baytowne Wharf pier. Fishing licenses are not required on Sandestin property. The Marina Bar & Grill will even cook your catch! Start the action at Baytowne Marina. Rod rentals and live bait are always available at Spitfire Mercantile.

• Baytowne Golf Club

267.8155 The Baytowne Golf Club is known as the most popular course at Sandestin. Extensively renovated in the summer of 2005 by original course architect Tom Jackson. This course, hailed by Golf Digest’s Places to Play with four-and-a-half stars, is now even more exciting with a course routing that takes guests from the beach to the bay and boasts some of the only elevation changes in the area. Baytowne Golf Club is as forgiving from the forward tees as it is challenging from the championship tees. The addition of a fifth set of junior tees also makes Baytowne a great place for beginners to learn the game and for families to play together.

Children under age 12 play free after noon with full-paying accompanying adults.

• Burnt Pine Golf Club

267.6500 The Burnt Pine Golf Club is a golf experience unrivaled on Florida’s Northwest Gulf Coast. In this 7,000-yard layout, course architect Rees Jones created rolling fairways and strategicallyplaced bunkers inviting golfers to outduel the course by using a different approach to every hole. Jolee is also dotted with indigenous palmetto bushes, a pirate ship-shaped adventure playground, picnic sites with grills, a planked 1.5 mile hiking/running perimeter path, a greenspace event lawn, and an occasional porch swing where you can sit and watch the waters of the Choctawhatchee Bay lap onto the shores of Horseshoe Bayou. Sandestin is home to five family playgrounds. Adventure Landing is The Village of Baytowne Wharf’s vast playground where kids can frolic while Mom shops. Nearby is Captain Joe Lee’s Treehouse (between the Marina and Village) built around a tree with faux moonlight at night. Jolee Island has a pirate ship for swashbuckling fun. The Gordon Davison Nature Trail playground is tucked away but not to be missed, just across from the entrance to Jolee Island.

267.7110 Sandestin’s Tennis Center, named as one of America’s Top 50 Tennis Resorts by Tennis Magazine in 2012, is located next to the Baytowne Marina and includes twelve clay and three hard courts for day and night play. Ask about private lessons, round robins, adult and junior group clinics that are instructed by USPTA and USPTR teaching professionals. Beach Safety

Sandestin adheres to a uniform code system for swimming safety that is also presently used in Walton County. The colors and their meanings are as follows:

Green ~ Conditions are favorable for swimming.

Yellow ~ Use caution when venturing into the water.

One Red Flag ~ Swimming is not advised.

Two Red Flags ~ Water is closed to public use, subject to arrest.

Purple ~ Marine pests present (jellyfish, stingrays or dangerous fish).

Child Safety

Please be advised that our Saflok (room key card) system is designed so that the dead bolt disengages when the interior handle is turned. We have provided an interior second locking device, above the Saflok, to ensure that parents have a way to secure the door that is out of the reach of small children. We strongly recommend the use of this device.

Fire Safety

For your safety, most resort units are protected by alarm systems or fire extinguishers. Should a fire occur, practice common sense safety tips. For example, if your door is hot to the touch, do not open it and never use elevators, as they could stop at the fire floor. Please shut off fans and air conditioners.

Hurricane Safety

A hurricane is a tropical cyclone with a wind velocity exceeding 75 miles per hour. Most hurricanes that affect the Florida coast, occur in August through October. However, the sixmonth period from June through November is considered hurricane season. Sandestin has a detailed plan and an active team to prepare the resort for a hurricane.

Should county officials announce a mandatory evacuation, you will be notified via telephone and/or written notice of how to proceed. A hurricane is generally a slow-moving storm. If a hurricane is imminent, it is in your best interest to use that time to depart the resort and retreat to a location away from the coastline. The resort should not be considered a safe haven against a hurricane. The resort does not encourage guests to remain on property during the threat of a major hurricane. For updated information, tune your television to Channel 38, The Weather Channel, and/or your radio to local news to keep informed of developments. If a storm is imminent, a Tropical Storm/Hurricane Preparedness Guide will be distributed to you by the resort to assist you with a safe departure.

Traveler Safety Tips

For your personal safety, be mindful of your surroundings and practice common sense safety tips as you would traveling anywhere. As a reminder, we encourage you to place all valuables in the safe deposit box available at either Guest Registration on Highway 98 or at the Grand Sandestin Guest Registration. Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. If you are traveling with children, provide adult supervision at all times. If you observe suspicious activity, please report it to the Security Department immediately.
