On November 23rd, 1602, Spanish explorer Sebastian Vizcaino discovered a small island off our coast. He named it San Clemente, because it was the feast day of the

Strict guidelines called for Spanish colonial architecture with red tile roofs and white plaster. When the city incorporated in 1928 it was considered the wealthiest city per capita in the United States. Of course the Stock Market crash of 1929, caused Ole to lose even his own home, which today is known as the Casa Romantica cultural center. Today San Clemente is a self-contained city that provides visitors and residents alike
