Ministria e Kulturës, Rinisë dhe Sportit është e ndëruar me rolin përkrahës të Edicionit të Tretë të Rolling Film Festivalit. Organizimet si Rolling Film Festival i kontribuojnë pasurimit të përvojës sonë kulturore si shtet i ri, i cili i sjell dobi të gjithëve në Kosovë, sikur gjeneratave të reja ashtu edhe atyre më të vjetra. Kam nderin e posaçëm ti ftoj të gjithë në edicionin e sivjetëm të Rolling Film Festivalit, dhe të ju dëshiroj organizatorëve shumë suksese në edicionet e ardhshme të Festivalit.

We stare out from places that are usually just stared at. We use languages some people say are dead. We tell stories you probably haven’t heard. Damian La Bas (Roma poet, filmmaker and journalist) Rolling Film Festival and its 3rd edition is welcoming you again to the screenings of stories you probably haven’t heard. The line-up of over thirty-two films will illustrate Roma culture, history, art scene, life celebration but also misinterpretation, social injustice faced by Roma people spread around the world. While everyone is trying to adapt or even “better” to assimilate to “others” culture and leave their stories far behind, feelings are telling us differently, to let go the differences, and to celebrate life as individual, to let the memories tell the history, and the present will be past. With this we are opening the festival with one of the most remarkable documentaries ever, by Tony Gatlif, Latcho Drom, a winner of “Un Certain Regard Award” of Cannes Festival 1993, Special Citation of the National Society of Film Critics 1996 and Grand Prix of Montreal 1997. This film does not tell, but it shows the unspoken people finding a better place to live, traveling from Rajasthan to Persia, through the Balkans and western countries, they being expelled again and again, and they carry on. This is when the history becomes present – nowadays society – and yet history is to be learned. Rolling’s international guests include Bob Entrop from the Netherlands, a filmmaker dedicated to Roma culture and activism; Damian La Bas, a Roma filmmaker, poet and journalist from UK; Dordje Cenic and Dominic Spritzendorfer from Austria; Katalin Bersony from Hungary; and others. As a special program, we dedicate a night to great people who have dedicated their lives to Roma films, and are not among us anymore: Katrin Seybold and Melanie Spitta (The False Word). A friend of Katrin Seybold, Ivot Stodolsky has agreed to join us and speak in her name. The Second special program is Cikore Filmja, which we have for the second time. This year, we have reached more youth in different locations in Kosovo introducing them to filmmaking, and they are introducing us to “their views”. Cikore Filmja has also traveled to Slovenia this year with the support of Luksuz Produkcija, the follow-up of “Roma Dream” from 2011. Last but not least, the Rolling Youth Selection Committee has also been created by young people from Kosovo to discuss and debate about Roma films, with the guidance of Una Hajdari as debate leader. They have watched over 30 films, short and long, and made special selection of one night of films to be shown at the National Theatre of Kosovo. Films are always my favorite part, but we also like music. The Audience, and Cikore Filmja Jury awards of Rolling Film Festival will be presented on the last night, 16th of December, during the concert of great young Roma musicians.

Ne ngulim sytë nga vendet ku zakonishtë të gjithë ia ngulin sytë. Ne përdorim gjuhë të cilat njerëzit mendojnë se janë të vdekura. Ne tregojmë histori që ju ndoshta nuk i keni dëgjuar. Damian La Bas (Roma poet, regjisor dhe gazetar) Festivali Rolling Film në edicionin e 3’të ju mirëpret përsëri me shfaqjen e tregimeve që ju me siguri nuk i keni ndëgjuar më parë. Programi i mbi tridhjetë e dy filmave do të ilustrojë kulturën Rome, historinë, skenën e artit, festimet e jetës por edhe keqinterpretimet, padrejtësitë sociale me të cilat përballen Romët, që është duke u përhapur në mbarë botën. Përderisa të gjithë janë duke u përpjekur për të përshtatur apo edhe “ më mirë” për të asimiluar kulturën e “ të tjerëve” që ti lëmë tregimet e tyre prapa, ndjenjat janë duke na thënë ndryshe. Ti lëmë anash dallimet dhe të festojmë jetën si individ, ti lëmë kujtimet të tregojnë histori dhe e pranishmja do të jetë e kaluara. Me këtë, ne jemi duke e hapur festivalin me një nga dokumentarët më të shquar ndonjëherë, Latcho Drom nga Tony Gatlif, një fitues i “Un Certain Regard Award” në Festivalin Canes më 1993, Citation Special i kritikës Amerikane të vitit 1996 dhe fitues në Grand Prix të Montrealit më 1997. Ky film nuk thotë, por tregon njerëz të pashprehur duke u munduar të gjejnë një vend më të mirë për të jetuar, udhëtimin e tyre nga Rajasthan në Persi, nëpër Ballkan dhe vendet perëndimore, përballjen dhe pashmangshmërinë e dëbimit të tyre, e ata vazhdojnë jetën. Kjo është kur historia bëhet e pranishme - në ditët e sotme shoqëria - dhe ajo është ende për tu mësuar. Mysafirët ndërkombëtarë të Rolling përfshijnë Bob Entrop nga Hollanda, një regjisor i dedikuar për kulturën dhe aktivizmin Rom; Damian La Bas, një regjisor, poet dhe gazetar Rom nga Britania e Madhe; Gjorgje Cenic dhe Dominic Spritzendorfer nga Austria; Katalin Bersony nga Hungaria dhe të tjerë. Si një program i veçantë, ne dedikojmë një natë për njerëzit që kanë përkushtuar jetën e tyre për filmat Rom dhe nuk janë më mes nesh: Katrin Seybold dhe Melanie Spitta (The False Word). Një mik i Katrin Seybold, Ivot Stodolsky ka rënë dakord ti bashkangjitet festivalit që të flas në emër të saj. Programi i dytë i veçantë është Cikore Filmja, që shfaqen për herë të dytë. Këtë vit ne kemi arritur të prezantojmë procesin e krijimtarisë filmike tek më shumë të rinjë, në vende të ndryshme të Kosovës. Këtë vit Cikore Filmja gjithashtu ka udhëtuar në Slloveni, me mbështetjen e Luksuz Produkcija, pasuese e “Roma Dream” që nga 2011. E fundit por jo më e paktë, Komiteti Rinor Selekcionues i Rolling, është formuar nga të rinjët e Kosovës, për të diskutuar dhe debatuar rreth filmave Rom, nën drejtimin e Una Hajdari si udhëheqëse e debatit. Ata kanë shikuar mbi 30 filma, të shkurtër dhe të gjatë dhe kanë bërë një veçantë të filmave për ti shfaqur në Teatrin Kombëtar të Kosovës. Filmat janë gjithmonë pjesa ime e preferuar, por edhe muzika. Audienca, dhe Cikore Filmja jurija e Festivalit Rolling Film do të paraqiten natën e fundit të festivalit, më 16 Dhjetor, gjatë koncertit të muzikantëve të rinj Rom.

Mi zurimo iz mesta u koje se obično samo zuri. Mi pričamo jezicima za koje neki ljudi kažu da ne postoje. Mi pričamo priče za koje do sada verovatno niste čuli. Demijen La Bas (romski pesnik, filmski stvaralac i novinar) Treći po redu Rolling Film Festival vam još jednom želi dobrodošlicu na prikazivanje priča koje verovatno do sada niste čuli. Postavka od preko 32 filma će ilustrovati romsku kulturu, istoriju, umetničku scenu, životne svečanosti, ali takođe i pogrešna tumačenja i društvenu nepravdu prema Romima širom sveta. Dok svi pokušavaju da se adaptiraju, ili još „bolje“da se asimiluju sa „drugim“ kulturama i ostave svoje priče „daleko iza sebe“, osećanja nam govore drugačije, a to je da ostavimo sve razlike i da slavimo život kao nešto što nam svima pripada, da dopustimo uspomenama da pripovedaju istoriju i sadašnjost će postati prošlost. Ovom mišlju otvaramo festival, uz jedan od najznačajnijih dokumentarnih filmova ikada, Latcho Drom, Tonija Gatlifa, koji je osvojio „Un Certain Regard Award” na Kanskom festivalu, 1993. godine, „Special Citation of US critique“, 1996. godine i „Grand Prix of Montreal”, 1997. godine. Ovaj film ne govori, već prikazuje ljude i njihove neispričane priče o potrazi za boljim mestom za život, putovanjima od Radžastana do Persije, kroz Balkan i zapadne zemlje… Proterivani su iznova i iznova, ali oni nastavljaju dalje. Ovo je trenutak kada istorija postaje sadašnjost–društvo današnjice–a opet, o toj istoriji tek treba učiti. Rolling će posetiti i gosti iz inostranstva: Bob Entrop iz Holandije, posvećeni filmski stvaralac na temu romske kulture i aktivizma, Demijen La Bas, romski filmski stvaralac, pesnik i novinar iz UK, Đorđe Cenić i Dominik Spricendorfer iz Austrije, Katalin Bersoni iz Mađarske i drugi. Kao specijalni deo programa, jednu noć posvećujemo sjajnim ljudima koji su posvetili svoj život filmovima o Romima, ali nisu više među nama: Katrin Sejbold i Melani Spita („The False Word”). Prijatelj Katrin Sejbold, Ivor Stodolski, pristao je da nam se pridruži i govori u njeno ime. Po drugi put, takođe kao specijalni deo našeg programa, biće prikazani i Cikore Filmja/Kratki filmovi. Ove godine uspeli smo da uključimo još više omladine iz različitih kosovskih mesta, upoznajući ih sa tehnikom stvaranja filma, a sada nam oni predstavljaju “svoj pogled”. Uz podršku Luksuz produkcije, program Cikore Filmja/Kratki filmovi je realizovan i u Sloveniji, kao nastavak „Roma dream/Romskog sna” iz 2011. godine. Za kraj, ali ništa manje bitan, tu je i Rolling omladinski selekcijski odbor, koji je takođe formirala omladina Kosova kako bi se diskutovalo i debatovalo o romskim filmovima, uz vođstvo i podršku Une Hajdari, liderke dabata. Omladina je pogledala preko 30 dugometražnih i kratkometražnih filmova i napravila specijalnu selekciju filmova koji će se prikazivati tokom jedne noći festivala, u Nacionalnom pozorištu Kosova. Filmovi su uvek moj omiljeni deo, ali mi takođe volimo i muziku. Poslednje noći, 16. decembra, tokom koncerta sjajnih mladih romskih muzičara, biće dodeljene Nagrada publike i Nagrada žirija za najbolje Cikore Filmja/Kratke filmove Rolling Film Festivala.

Welcome to the 3rd Edition of “Rolling” – the Rolling Film Festival. Rolling is becoming recognized as one of the premier programs, world-wide, in making films by and about the Roma people visible, bringing them to the screen and the attention of welcoming audiences. Rolling is also becoming one of a group of outstanding cinematic, artistic and cultural events that shape the Kosovo landscape, and that Kosovo is shining bright to the world. Rolling started as one response to the very difficult situation faced by Kosovo Roma. Prejudice and discrimination against Roma are still “normal”. The average family income is, by international standards, at extreme poverty levels. Education lags far behind the majority population. Health and life conditions… And yet, Rolling was launched as a celebration. It celebrates the vibrancy of Roma life, the perseverance in difficult conditions, the strength and commitment of family bonds, the strong hands doing hard work, the students knocking on the doors of universities, the rural community and the urban mahalla, the bright young filmmakers and their trail-blazing elders, and, of course the music and the dance. Rolling is a part of Kosovo because the Roma people are a part of Kosovo, with a recorded history here of more than 500 years. So Rolling is an affirmation of Roma life in Kosovo. Rolling is a reaching out to neighbors to commit to sharing a good and productive life in this beautiful and historic corner of Europe. Rolling is a celebration of our unique and our shared journeys together. Thank you, dear friends, for making Rolling 2012 part of your 2012. Mirë se vini në edicionin e 3’të “Rolling” - Rolling Film Festival. Rolling është duke u bërë i njohur në mbarë botën për prodhimin e filmave nga dhe për Romët, duke i shfaqur ato në ekranet e shikuesve mikëpritës. Rolling gjithashtu është duke u bërë një nga ngjarjet e shquara të kinematografisë, artit dhe kulturës që formojnë peisazhin e Kosovës, dhe Kosova po ndriçon në Botë. Rolling ka filluar si një përgjigje ndaj situatës shumë të vështirë që Romët e Kosovës përballen. Paragjykimet dhe diskriminimi ndaj romëve janë ende “normale”. Të ardhurat mesatare familjare, sipas standardeve ndërkombëtare, janë në nivelet ekstreme të varfërisë. Arsimi mbetet shumë prapa. Shëndeti dhe kushtet e jetës … Dhe akoma, Rolling ishte nisur si një festë. Ajo feston gjallërinë e jetës Rome, këmbënguljen në kushte të vështira, forcën dhe angazhimin familjar, duart e forta që bëjnë punën e vështirë, studentët që po trokasin në dyert e Universiteteve, komunitetin rural dhe Mahallen urbane, kineastët e rinj dhe gjurmët e tyre dhe natyrisht, muzikën dhe vallëzimin. Rolling është një pjesë e Kosovës, sepse Romët janë pjesë e Kosovës me histori më shumë se 500 vite. Pra, Rolling është një pohim i jetës Rome në Kosovë. Rolling është duke arritur tek fqinjët që të angazhohen për ndarjen e një jetë më të mirë dhe më të frytshme në këtë cep të bukur dhe historik të Evropës. Rolling është një festë unike e udhëtimeve tona të përbashkëta. Faleminderit të dashur miq, që bëtë Rolling pjesë tuaj e 2012. Këtë vit ne ju ofrojmë filma të shquar: 25 nga e gjithë bota, 7 nga Kosova, 11 të shkurtër të bërë nga të rinjët Romë në Kosovë - dhe janë fantastik! Ne jemi duke i mirëpritur disa nga drejtorët e shquar të filmave. Ngjarjet anësore janë diskutime, panele, ekspozita, shfaqje anësore, dhe koncerti i mbylljes. Roll’it me ne!

Dobrodošli na treće izdanje “Kotrljanja” – Rolling Film Festival. Rolling postaje prepoznat, širom sveta, kao jedan od premijernih programa koji filmove o Romima i filmove koje su realizovali Romi čini vidljivim, dovodeći ih na velika platna i izazivajući pažnju publike. Rolling takođe postaje deo grupe izuzetnih filmskim, umetničkih i kulturnih događaja, koji oblikuju kosovski pejzaž i uz koje Kosovo isijava ka svetu. Rolling Film Festival je nastao kao jedna od reakcija na veoma tešku situaciju u kojoj su se našli kosovski Romi. Predrasude i diskriminacija u odnosu na Rome su i dalje „normalna stvar“. Prosečan porodični dohodak, prema internacionalnim standardima, na nivou je ektremnog siromaštva. Obrazovanje zaostaje daleko iza obrazovanja većinske populacije. Zdravlje i uslovi za život… Uprkos svemu tome, Rolling Film Festival je pokrenut kao proslava. On slavi živost romskog života, istrajnost u teškim uslovima, snagu i posvećenost porodičnih veza, snažne ruke što obavljaju naporne poslove, studente što kucaju na univerzitetska vrata, ruralne zajednice i urbane mahale, sjajne mlade filmske stvaraoce, ali i pionire romskog filma i, naravno, muziku i ples. Rolling je deo Kosova, jer Romi jesu deo Kosova, uz svoju istoriju koja je zapisana na ovim prostorima i duga preko 500 godina. Drugim rečima, Rolling je afirmacija života Roma na Kosovu i pokušava da poruči susedima da se posvete izgradnji dobrog i produktivnog života, u ovom prelepom i istorijskom kutku Evrope. Romawood is a local organization focused on improving socio-cultural youth work, inclusion, mobilization, networking and self-esteem of young Roma with projects that engage them in film, music, visual arts, theater or other artistic media. Romawood supports and develops artistic production that aims to stimulate creative and collaborative work in support of the human dignity and rights of Roma people in Kosovo and in Europe.

Producer, director Bob Entrop (1946). After attending the film department of the St. Joost Academy of Art in Breda in 1972, Bob Entrop produced and directed more than 220 film titles. He was one of the founders of the first film collective in the Netherlands, De Kritiese Filmers, and in 1975 the founder of the theatre group, Het Volksteater, where he worked as a director and as an actor. Since 1979 he is the owner of SOL FILMprodukties. The company produces documentaries, talk shows, feature films and drama-series for several networks. Several productions received awards at national and international festivals.

Dominik Spritzendorfer (1974), cameraman, photographer and documentary filmmaker, studied at the Moscow Film Academy VGIK. Living in Vienna since 2000, he is currently working with Elena Tikhonova on ”Elektro Moskva“, a documentary about electronic music in Russia.

Djordje Cenic was born in 1975, in Linz/ Austria as a gastarbajter child. He lives in Salzburg/Austria, and is a contemporary historian, musician and filmmaker.

Ivor A Stodolsky is a writer, curator and philosopher. Currently based in Berlin, Stodolsky has worked at Aleksanteri Institute of the University of Helsinki, Finland. He is researching a case history in the former Soviet non-conformist cultural intelligentsia underground. Ivor is a pluri - or postnational (FR/US-UK/RU/DE/US/CZ/FI), as are his fields of interest. He has experience in high politics as Associate Editor with a global op-ed syndication service. Outside the academic world, he works in the field of arts and politics. Recently, he co-founded Perpetuum Mobile: www.perpetualmobile.org.

Sita Scherer, born in Filderstadt and raised in the Stuttgart region, southern Germany, was already interested in the arts since her early childhood. She studied Culture Studies with a focus on Arts and finished her bachelor’s degree in 2012. During her exchange for half a year in Portugal she started to concentrate on Media Arts. She is now studying Visual Communication at the Art School in Kassel. Her ambition in her projects is the combination of social and cultural topics.

Upravo započinje studije Visuelne komunikacije pri umetničkoj školi u Kaselu. Njene ambicije u pogledu na buduće projekte predstavljaju kombinaciju društvenih i kulturnih tema.

Denis Mustafa, born in 1996, made his first film when he was 11 years old as a workshop participant when he and his older friends made “Jekh Kham Jekh Sel / One Sun One Nation”, a film that was shown in more than twenty film festivals in Europe, the US, and Latin America. In 2010, his short film, “The Dream Power”, won the Rolling Film Festival Audience Award.

Sami is an Independent filmmaker, a member of International Romani Film Commission, Artistic Director of Rolling Film Festival, documentary film tutor, and director of Romawood – an NGO dedicated to giving young Roma an opportunity to learn and to express other Roma lives, experience and identity through artistic methods, producing documentary films. Sami made his first film as a trainee in 2003 in Plemetina village in Kosovo, where the natives of this town learned the techniques of film making with Balkan Sunflowers NGO. Sami has produced more than twenty documentaries, docu-fiction, and music videos on Roma culture, art, human rights and social life in Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, France and Slovenia. One of his films “Road to Home”, was screened at Cannes Film Festival in 2007; it was the only Kosovar film presented. In 2007, Sami founded Romawood, a production house focusing on Roma issues and people. Later that same year, he initiated the “Jekh Kham Jekh Sel/One Sun One Nation” project, which has made the most indelible impact on his life and work. Sami also took the initiative to start one of the greatest Roma events in Kosovo as artistic director of Rolling Film Festival – films made by and about Roma around the world. Jury for Cikore Filmja Juria për Cikore Filmja The Jury of Cikore Filmja (Cikore in Romanes means “small” so we called them small films as they are filmed with mobile phones) made by youth in Kosovo from Fushe Kosova, Plemetina, Gracanica, Priluzje and Prizren will compete during the 4th day of the festival. The Audience Award will be deciding for the first price, while for second and third price will be decided by the Jurry members of Blerta Zeqiri, Valon Imeri and Gazmen Salijevic. A group of winners - participants from last year have moved from mobile phone to a more profesional equipment in which storywise does not influence the stories made with mobile phone.

Juria e Cikore Filmja (Cikore në gjuhën Rome do të thotë “i vogël” dhe kështu i kemi quajtur filmat të cilët janë filmuar me telefonat celular), të bërë nga të rinjtë në Kosovë nga Fushë Kosova, Plemetini, Prilluzha, Graçanica dhe Prizreni, do të konkurrojnë gjatë ditës së katërt të Festivalit. Çmimi i Audiencës do të vendos për çmimin e parë, ndërsa për çmimin e dytë dhe të tretë do të vendoset nga anëtarët e juriseë, Blerta Zeqiri, Valon Imeri dhe Gazmen Salijevic. Një grup i fituesve pjesëmarrësit nga viti i kaluar - kanë kaluar nga telefoni celular në pajisje më shumë profesionale, me të cilat nuk ndryshojnë tregimet e bëra me telefon celular.

Blerta Zeqiri is an award-winning Kosovar Director and Scriptwriter, and a member of the European Film Academy. She’s worked on a number of shorts and feature films, which have participated in many International Festivals, such as: Sundance Film Festival, Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, etc., winning prizes in a number of them.

Blerta Zeqiri, është një regjisore dhe skenariste Kosovare, anëtare e Akademisë Evropiane të Filmit. Ajo ka punuar në filma të shkurtër dhe filma artistikë, që kanë marrë pjesë në shumë festivale ndërkombëtare, të tilla si: Sundance Film Festival, Oberhausen International Film Festival, etj, duke fituar çmime shumicën prej tyre.

Valon Imeri, born in Peja/Pec, has worked in film, theater, and journalism for the past 10 years. With a focus on innovative, striking audio-visuals, his work is primarily geared toward promoting human rights, children’s health, and intercultural understanding. Valon is currently the director for a film production company that he co-founded in 2011. He is based in Washington DC, where he lives with his wife and two sons.

Valon Imeri, i lindur në Pejë / Pec, ka punuar në film, teatër, dhe gazetari për 10 vitet e fundit. Me një fokus në efekte inovative audio-vizuele, puna e tij është e drejtuar kryesisht drejt promovimit të të drejtave të njeriut, shëndetit të fëmijëve, dhe të kuptuarit ndërkulturor. Valomi aktualisht është drejtor në një kompani të prodhimit të filmit që bashkë-themeloi në vitin 2011. Ai është i bazuar në Uashington DC, ku jeton me gruan e tij dhe me dy djem.

Mr. Gazmen Salijević, born in Gračanica/ Graçanicë in 1981, is a highly motivated and multi-faceted minority and human rights activist. Throughout his professional career, he has gained a keen understanding of the socio-political context and challenges facing all communities in Kosovo, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to promoting post-conflict reconciliation and building an inclusive and tolerant multi-ethnic society in Kosovo. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, he is not only highly respected and appreciated among the Roma community to which he belongs, but among all communities in Kosovo.

Z. Gazmen Salijević, i lindur në Graçanicë / Gračanica në vitin 1981, është një aktivist shumë i motivuar dhe i gjithanshëm i të drejtave të njeriut. Gjatë karrierës së tij profesionale, ai ka fituar një kuptim të mirë të kontekstit socio-politik dhe sfidat me të cilat përballen të gjitha komunitetet në Kosovë, vazhdimisht duke demonstruar një angazhim të fortë për promovimin e pajtimit dhe ndërtimit të shoqërisë gjithëpërfshirëse dhe tolerante multi-etnike në Kosovë. Their set-square noses, cranky teeth, Time leathered skins, root knot and wreathTaut shoulder blades are closing in To hack the shrub and spook the ghost. Higgledy Jim, the colonel, cranks His quick march in his breast. His blood-silk neckerchief is nooseTied, meting pulses through the sluice Of arteries. His blood’s his rank, Stiff scapulae his epaulettes. Gorse-born brigades of Crookmen trek Up spinneret-born tracks. Their aspects brown with mud and blood, Their boots made muffled with the crud Of earth. Their backs are buckled, backs The country leaned on hard: their necks And names are crooked, vexed, Misshapen, long time marred. The Crooked, bent with backbreak heft, Want gold for graft. We all got words we likes, my mate. Now just a minute: let me tell you, mine Is words I likes for special reasons going back A thousand years I think, so long ago I’m losing track. Mandi’a pukker tuti- Sorry, I mean I’ll tell you. Well, at least I’ll have a crack. Here’s a kushti word I like: it’s ‘cushion’ Seeing as ‘cushion’ hushes in my ears like ‘kushti’ Which means ‘very fine’, like frilly cushions Bought by our manushis(That’s our women). What’s different about me ears, you ask O mandi’s (more, correctly, mirra) chavvy? (Sorry, chavvy’s a boy. And mandi’s mine, Or me, which is what I see in mirra mirror, And ‘mandi’ ain’t a girl, it’s just an ancient word Like one of ‘thine’). There’s stor or pansh examples (four or five, I mean): You want some more? Then hark. When I was twelve year old I wrote A poem about the sea, and never mentioned boats But I did mention ‘Gypsum’: It’s a stone, a frost-white crystal. What was Gypsum like? I didn’t know back then, I guessed. But I thought it was crystalline, and, like the sea, Possessed of a frosty, foamy zest (good guess, I says To meself, ta-divvus- Now, today). So that’s what mandi wrote: ‘The shore receives its cleansing Gypsum glaze’.

“Latcho Drom” (rom for “safe journey”) describes the travels, singing and dancing of Romany groups from Rajasthan (India), Egypt, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, France, and Spain. Some scenes are acted, but there is no dialogue or narration – only partial translation of some songs. The film illustrates the variety of conditions in which the Romany people live – earthbound nomads in the hot deserts of Asia, ironsmiths and abjectly poor treedwellers in the frozen plains of Eastern Europe, and craftspeople and traders in the hills and seasides of north Africa and western Europe. It also illustrates the similarities in travel habits, musical tones (spoons, open drums, and string-based rhythms) and song themes (celebration of travel and perceived rejection by sedentary locals).

Latcho Drom (“Udhëtim të Sigurtë”) përshkruan udhëtimet, këngët dhe vallëzimet e grupeve rome nga Rajasthan (Indi), Egjipti, Turqia, Romania, Hungaria, Sllovakia, Franca dhe Spanja. Disa skena janë të aktruara por nuk ka dialog ose narracion – vetëm përkthim të pjesërishëm të disa këngëve. Latcho Drom (na romskom „sigurno putovanje“) opisuje putovanje, pevanje i ples romskih grupa iz Radžastana (Indija), Egipta, Turske, Rumunije, Mađarske, Slovačke, Francuske i Španije. Film ilustruje različite uslove u kojima Romi žive – život nomada vezanih za zemlju, u vrelim pustinjama Azije, kovača i sramno siromašnih stanovnika drveća zamrznutih ravnica Istočne Evrope, kao i zanatlija i trgovaca koji žive u brdima i po obalama Severne Afrike i Zapadne Evrope. Film takođe ilustruje i sličnosti u njihovim putničkim navikama, muzičkim tonovima (kašike, otvoreni bubnjevi i ritmovi na bazi žice) i temama pesama (proslave putovanja i doživljeno odbacivanje od strane sedelačkih meštana).

Tony Gatlif (born as Michel Dahmani on September 10, 1948 in Algiers, Algeria) is a French film director of Roma ethnicity who also works as a screenwriter, composer, actor, and producer. Gatlif struggled for years to break into the film industry, playing in several theatrical productions until directing his first film, “La Tête en Ruine”, in 1975. Since the 1981 “Corre, Gitano”, Gatlif’s work has been focused on the Roma people of Europe, from whom he partially traces his descent. Gatlif spent 1992 and 1993 shooting “Latcho Drom” which was awarded numerous prizes. His 2004 film “Exils”, won the Best Director Award at the (2004) Cannes Film Festival. His film “Transylvania” also premiered at Cannes in May 2006.

Film maker Bob Entrop followed the remarkable violinist Nello Weis Mirando for one full year– remarkable because Nello is only capable of playing the violin with just two and a half fingers, due to a spinal condition he was born with. Nello started playing as a kid, together with his dad and uncles, with the (Koninklijk Zigeuner Orkest Tata Mirando) Royal Dutch Gypsy Orchestra Tata Mirando. “Gipsy Music Hearts” is a film about passion, addiction, drama, hardship, suffering, humor, cooking, cycling and a new start. Filmmaker Bob Entrop has been able to capture Nello’s highs and lows, and was there when just before an very important performance, one of his still usable fingers failed on him. Not so long ago, Nello planned his very last concert, his body would not let him go on with what he loved the most. A visit to the Amsterdam Medical Centre gave sudden hope that a surgery could be his last salvation. The film vividly shows that his handicap does not prevent Nello from being a true violin virtuoso. With numerous performances in festivals, in restaurants and on his own 50th birthday, we get a colorful portrait of a man, a musician, addicted to music. This love for, and addiction to music, is the exact reason why he wishes another life for his children. For, to make music, is to hurt and to suffer.

Nelo je počeo da svira još kao dete, zajedno sa svojim ocem i ujacima, u Koninklijk Zigeuner Orkest Tata Mirando/Royal Dutch Gypsy Orchestra Tata Mirando. Ovo je film o strasti, zavisnosti, drami, tegobama, patnji, humoru, kuvanju, vožnji bicikla i novim počecima. Filmski stvaralac Bob Entrop uspeo je da ovekoveči uspone i padove ovog umetnika i bio je prisutan u trenutku kada je neposredno pre vrlo važnog performansa Nelou otkazao jedan od njegovih prethodno još uvek funkcionalnih prstiju. Valoni, me prejardhje Rome, që jeton në Kosovën e pasluftës dhe Loyiso, një student që jeton në Gugulethu, një nga fshatrat më të varfëra të Afrikës së Jugut. Edhe pse një botë e tërë ndodhet mes tyre, Loyiso dhe Valoni ndajnë përvojën e të jetuarit në vende të cilët kanë perjetuar histori të turbullta racore dhe etnike të konfliktit dhe shtypjes. Ata kanë të përbashkët ambicien, shpresën dhe kërkimin për mundësitë e arsimimit të cilët gjithë të tjerët i marrin për të kryera, pavarësisht nga kartat që ju kanë dhënë në jetë. Dokumentarni film odrastanja prati živote dvojice mladića koji teže svetlijoj budućnosti. Valona, momka romskog (ciganinskog) porekla, koji živi u postratnom Kosovu i Lojisoa, studenta koji živi u Guguletu, jednoj od najsiromašnijih opština u Južnoj Africi. Iako ih razdvajaju čitavi svetovi, Lojiso i Valon dele iskustvo odrastanja u zemljama koje su pretrpele burnu rasnu i entičku istoriju konflikta i ugnjetavanja. Uprkos kartama koje im je dodelio život, povezuje ih ambicija, nada i traganje za obrazovanjem koje će im otvoriti vrata za mogućnosti, koje svi mi shvatamo zdravo za gotovo. Tokom sedam godina snimanja, oni dokumentuju svoj put kroz video-dnevnike, intervjue i prikaze „delića života“. Ovo je njihova priča, puna neočekivanih i inspirativnih trenutaka. Synopsis In 1997, floods in the Moravian and Silesian regions of the Czech Republic destroyed 7,000 homes and displaced more than 20,000 people. Kumar Vishwanathan, a physics teacher from India who arrived in the Czech Republic in 1991, saw the needs of displaced Roma citizens and dedicated himself to helping. His vision, funded by eighteen different local, regional and international donors, and implemented by 30 families made homeless by the floods was born.

Synopsis Ivailo Romanov-Peleto is a virtuoso percussionist who grew up in the Roma quarter of Blagoevgrad, in southwest Bulgaria. He has toured the world with the renowned Pirin Folk Ensemble and is the idol of many.

Sinopsisi Ivailo Romanov-Peleto është një perkusionist virtuoz i rritur në lagjën e Romëve në Blagoevgrad, në jugperëndim të Bullgarisë. Ai shëtiti botën me Ansamblin me renome botërore ‘Pirin Folk Ensemble’ dhe është idhull për njerëz të shumtë. Ai kthehet rregullisht në fshatin e varfër të fëmijërisë së tij për të mësuar fëmijët për muzikë dhe për të shërbyer si shembull i mirë. Uprooted is a documentary about Europe’s repatriation policies as seen through the eyes of the youths directly affected. Going back and forth between Germany and Kosovo, the film brings the voice of Roma (Gypsy) youths into the debate on immigration in Europe. In October 2010, Chancellor Angela Merkel declared that attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have “utterly failed”. From the perspective of children like Anita, Sedat and Nasmija, born and raised in Germany by parents who had fled Kosovo in the1990s, the statement makes no sense. For them, there is no question: they are German. But their home country is now deporting thousands of Roma (Gypsy) children to Europe’s youngest state, where what awaits them is a struggle to survive amidst appalling poverty and interethnic tensions.

On jednostavno predstavlja nekoga potpuno drugačijeg i nekoga koga niko do sada nije imao priliku da upozna. Film sadrži njegovu naraciju i bogat je mnogim slikama njegovog života, svakodnevnog života. Ovaj dokumentarni film će nam prikazati kontrast između njegovih velikih, mudrih misli i čitavog njegovog života.

Born 1975 in Tivat, Macedonia, Duško Miljanić finished high school in Kotor in 1994. Two years later he moved to Podgorica where, in Photo Kino Video Club Podgorica, he successfully passed photography school with the late, famous Montenegrin photographer Vojo Radonjic. For Duško’s further perfection and forming as an artist, Lazar Pejovic master and professor of photography at the Faculty of Art in Cetinje takes the credit. Duško is a member of international Photo Group F8.

Sami Mustafa is an Independent film maker a member of International Romani Film Commission, Artistic Director of Rolling Film Festival, documentary film tutor and director of Romawood NGO, that gives opportunity to young Roma people to learn and to express other Roma lives, experience and identity through artistic methods, producing documentary films. Sami made his first film as a trainee in 2003 in Plemetina village in Kosovo, where the native of this town learned the techniques of film making with Balkan Sunflowers NGO. Sami has produced more than twenty documentaries, docu-fiction, and music videos on Roma culture, art, human rights and social life in Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, France and Slovenia. One of his films “Road to

Home”, was screened at Cannes Film Festival in 2007; it was the only Kosovar film presented. In 2007, Sami founded Romawood, a production house focusing on Roma issues and population. Later that same year, he initiated the “Jekh Kham Jekh Sel/One Sun One Nation” project, which has made the most indelible impact on his life and work. Sami also took the initiative to one of the greatest Roma event in Kosovo as an artistic director of Rolling Film Festival – films made by and about Roma around the world. Mari jeton me babain e saj invalid dhe dy fëmijët në një kasolle në pyll jashtë qytetit. Kushtet e tyre të jetesës janë modeste, ashtu si kushtet e fqinjëve të tyre të tjerë Rom. Për shekuj me radhë, “lloji” i tyre kanë qenë të referuar si “ciganë”. Kohët e fundit, më shumë se kurrë, ata duhet të ekzistojnë tinëzisht: pesë familje të tëra në atë zonë janë vrarë, të vrarë në shtëpitë e tyre. Komuniteti Rom lufton thjeshtë për të vazhduar rutinen e tyre të përditshme në mes të ankthit të krimeve, të cilët dyshohen të jenë te motivuara në bazë racore. Mari lufton për ta mbajtur punën e saj. Anna përpiqet të përqëndrohet në shkollimin e saj dhe në vizatimet. Por voglushi Rio është i preokupuar me gjëra të tjera. One of his country’s most internationallyrecognized young directors, Bence Fliegauf returned to his native Hungary for his fifth feature film, ”Just the Wind”. His previous film, ”Womb”, was English-language and starred Eva Green (Casino Royale, The Dreamers) and Matt Smith (BBC’s “Dr. Who”). “Womb” was the disturbing story of a woman who cannot escape the complexities of her decision to replicate her dead lover and raise him as her own child. “Womb” was called “one of the most spectacularly handsome films of the year” by Screen International, and premiered at the 2010 Locarno Film Festival. ”Milky Way” won Locarno’s Golden Leopard for Filmmakers of the Present and Barcelona (L’Alternativa) Independent Film Festival’s Feature Film Prize. “Dealer” won the Berliner Zeitung Audience Award at the 2004 Berlin Film Festival, as well as several Best Director prizes (Mar Del Plata, Wiesbaden, Lecce). His debut feature “Forest” won the Wolfgang Staudte Prize and Gene Moskowitz Critics Prize at the 2003 Berlin Film Festival. Bence Fliegauf was born in 1974 in Budapest. On June 29, 1992 a farmer discovers two bodies in a cornfield in the North East of Germany. Police enquiries lead to the fact that the dead men are Romanian citizens. During the attempt to cross the EU border, hunters have shot them. The hunters claim that they had mistaken the people for wild boar. Four years later, the trial begins. It will never be proved, which of the hunters has fired the fatal bullet. The verdict: not guilty. German Press Agency dpa reports: “From Romania, no one has arrived for the rendition of judgment.” The police files contain the names and address of Grigore Velcu and Eudache Calderar. However, their families never even got to know that a trial had been held. With “Revision”, a legally terminated crime case becomes the subject of a cinematic revision. Places, individuals, and memories are being connected, and form a fragile pattern from different versions and perspectives of contemporary European history.

Nemačka agencija za štampu o tome izveštava: ‘’Niko iz Rumunije nije stigao na izvođenje presude.’’ Policijski fajlovi sadrže imena i adrese Grigore Velcua i Eudače Kalderara. Međutim, porodice žrtava nikada nisu čak ni saznale da je suđenje održano. Sa filmom REVIZIJA, pravno prekinut predmet zločina postaje tema filmske revizije. Mesta, pojedinci i uspomene su povezani i formiraju krhki šablon različitih verzija i perspektiva savremene evropske istorije.

Philip Scheffner was born in Homburg/Saar in 1966 and had lived in Berlin since 1986 and from 1991–1999 was a member of the Berlin writers group and production company ‘dogfilm’. In 2001 he founded the media platform and production company ‘pong’ with Merle Kröger. His film project ‘The Halfmoon Files’ on an Indian POW whose voice was recorded in a German POW camp during WW2, was shown at the Berlinale this year. Together with his colleague Britta Lange, he is currently working on an extension of the project within the framework of an exhibition at Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien Berlin.

The documentary “The Wrong Word - Compensation for Roma and Sinti in Germany” has shown, for the first time, the persecution of German Roma and Sinti from the point of view of the persecuted. It was made by Melanie Spitta, daughter of survivors and film director, Katrin Seybold, at the time when the members of the Sinti and Roma community in Germany began openly criticizing the denied and delayed compensation and harsh institutional treatment of the survivors. This 1987 film reveals never before published documents, police files and photographs of the Nazis who conducted medical experiments on women, children and men imprisoned in concentration camps. Why did the West German bureaucracy hide these documents? The survivors and their children testify to the often futile fight for compensation and recognition of the existence of race-based persecutions and killings, and constant discrimination against Roma and Sinti by the German authorities.

Film je realizovala Melani Spita, ćerka preživelih, i režiserka Katrin Sejbold, u vreme kada su članovi romskih i Sinti zajednica u Nemačkoj počeli otvoreno da kritikuju odbijene i odložene kompenzacije i žestok tretman preživelih od strane institucija. Ovaj film iz 1987. godine otkriva nikada pre prikazane dokumente, policijske fajlove i fotografije nacista koji su sprovodili medicinske eksperimente nad ženama, deci i muškarcima zarobljenim u koncetracionim logorima. Zašto je zapadnonemačka birokratija skrivala ove dokumente? Katrin Seybolt was born in Bromberg (Bydgoszcz) Gemany, and grew up in Stuttgart. Studying History of Arts in the 1960s, she made her first films about the student movements. She has worked with the Foundation German Kinemathek Berlin, as an assistant director, and has worked withand learned most from HansRolf Strobel, Ulla Stöckl, and Edgar Reitz. Since 1975 Seybolt has worked as a director for ARD and ZDF (German public service TV), and in 1979 founded her

own production company. She has made more than 60 television productions about social issues and about German history, long cinema documentaries about persecution during the Nazi period of German Gypsies (Sinti) and about resistance with diverse prizes and awards. Katrin Seybold is a member of the Academy of Arts Berlin and of the European Film Academy.

“Pink House” deals with the role of the women in modern Roma society. It focuses on early arranged marriages. The film is set in a pink house in Plemetina, a small village near Pristina. All of the women who are living in the house have a special relationship with men. The mother, Refka, runs the house with her two daughters Habiba and Ersana. Her husband is at home rarely as the only job he could find is outside Kosovo. The younger daughter, Ersana, decided not get married yet. This decision is unusual for a Roma woman at her age. Habiba, the older daughter, left her husband and lives with her two children in the house. The short film is on the one hand a personal approach of a German girl to a Roma family that she also lived with, and, on the other hand, deals with many interesting questions.

Sve žene koje žive u ovoj kući imaju specifične odnose sa muškarcima. Majka, Refka, vodi domaćinstvo sa dve ćerke, Habibom i Ersanom. Njen muž je retko kod kuće. Mlađa ćerka, Ersana, odlučila je da se još neko vreme ne uda. Za romske žene njenih godina ova odluka je neuobičajena. Habiba, starija ćerka, napustila je svog muža i u kući živi sa svoje dvoje dece. Ovaj kratki film je sa jedne strane lični pristup devojke iz Nemačke jednoj romskoj porodici, a sa druge strane se bavi mnogim pitanjima.

ROMSKI BAL Directed by Djordje Cenic Haki, 28, a Kosovar belonging to the minority group “Egyptians”, had lived in Germany for 17 years, when he was deported back to Kosova 2007, having to leave his German wife and two sons behind. Haki’s everyday life is determined by his longing for his family, the tough struggle of making ends meet in the Roma colony ”Kolonia Aljibraj“, and his hassle with the Kosovo police. And, of course,

the traumatic childhood memories of the deaths of his mother and his little brother. The ongoing judicial hearings on possibly returning to Germany and the hope of a visit from his family, gives Haki strength, but as his oldest son becomes ill, and the news from the courts are bad, his patience is facing a difficult challenge.

Ata hynë në garë për “Trumpetën e Artë” dhe “Orkestrën më të Mirë”. Qindra mijëra njerëz nga gjithë bota mbledhën në rrugët e Guča, dëgjojnë dhe vallëzojnë me muzikën e trumpetës dhe presin me padurim vendimin e juries. Ai i cili ja del të fitoi, i ofrohët shansi për ta shëndërruar talentin e tij në “ari”. „Romski Bal“ hedh një vështrim mbi rolin e shumëfishtë të muzikantëve Rom në një rajon të vërshuar nga konflikti, mes euforisë për muzikë dhe diskriminit në baza racore.

Od 1961. godine, ovo malo selo domaćin je nekoj vrsti „Grand Prix“ za trubačku muziku, tokom kog „beli“ muzičari iz Zapadne Srbije susreću „crne“ romske orkestre iz Južne Srbije. Oni se takmiče za „Zlatnu Trubu“ i „Najbolji orkestar“. Stotine hiljada ljudi iz celog sveta sastaju se na ulicama Guče, slušaju zvuk trube, plešu i željno isčekuju odluku žirija. Ko ovde uspe, ima velike šanse da svoj talenat pretvori u zlato. „Romski Bal“ ispituje dvosmislenu ulogu romskih muzičara u konfliktnom području između euforije trubačke muzike i rasističke diskriminacije.

ABOUT THE SHORT MOVIES RRETH FILMAVE TË SHKURTËR The Third Edition of Rolling Film Festival organized Cikore Filmja/Short Movies, a film workshop with young Roma from Fushe Kosove, Gracanica, Plemetina, Priluzje and Prizren, in order to encourage the participation and creativity of young aspiring filmmakers, using novel filming techniques. In this way, the youth are also given the opportunity to display their work and artistic vision to the Rolling Film Festival public. Cikore Filmja will be screened during the fourth day of the festival, and the winners of this year’s Cikore workshop will be announced during the closing concert.

Feature film “Shanghai Gypsy” is a love story. The main protagonists are members of the Mirga family. This story about four generations is narrated by Lutvija Belmondo Mirga. Lutvija is also the central character of the film, a gypsy king, who decided to establish his own gypsy village. He names it Shanghai. Belmondo makes a living smuggling and his power and influence grow large. He even gets local police and politicians on his side and that helps him to become untouchable. But with the downfall of Yugoslavia, smuggling of goods is being replaced by smuggling of arms. Though lucrative, the business starts to threaten Belmondo’s personal life and he finds himself at a crossroads. Will he protect his own family or is he going to sacrifice his personal happiness for business ambitions? “Shanghai Gypsy” is a story about eternal longing for happiness; it is the story of love and family ties, in which tears are intertwined with laughs. The story is set during the downfall of Yugoslavia, in times when many people had forgotten that the beauty of life actually lies in small things.

Por me rënien e Jugosllavisë, kontrabandimi i mallrave është duke u zëvendësuar nga kontrabanda e armëve. Edhepse fitimprurës, biznesi fillon ta kërcënojë jetën personale të Belmondos dhe ai e gjen veten në udhëkryq. A do ta mbrojë familjen e tij apo ta sakrifikojë lumturinë e tij personale për ambiciet e biznesit? Igrani film Šangajski Ciganin je ljubavna priča. Glavni protagonisti su članovi romske porodice Mirga. Priču o četiri generacije pripoveda Lutvija Belmondo Mirga. Lutvija je takođe centralna uloga u filmu, ciganski kralj, koji je odlučio da osnuje sopstveno cigansko selo. Daje mu ime Šangaj. Belmondo zarađuje baveći se švercom i postaje vrlo moćan i uticajan. On čak pridobija naklonost policije i političara i to mu pomaže da postane zakonski nedodirljiv. Međutim, sa padom Jugoslavije, šverc dobara biva zamenjen švercom oružja. Iako unosan, posao postaje pretnja Belmondovom ličnom životu i on pronalazi sebe pred teškom odlukom. Da li će zaštititi sopstvenu porodicu ili će žrtvovati svoju sreću zarad poslovnih ambicija? Šangajski Ciganin je priča o unutrašnjoj čežnji za srećom; to je priča o ljubavnim i porodičnim vezama, u kojoj se suze prepliću sa smehom. Priča je smeštena u vreme raspada Jugoslavije, u vreme gde mnogi ljudi zaboravljaju da se lepota života zapravo krije u malim stvarima.

Marko Naberšnik (born 1973, Maribor, Slovenia) attended a film-directing course at the New York Film Academy in 1996. There he made his first short film The Beginning (Začetek) and it was with this film that he passed the entrance exam and began with studies of film and TV directing at the Ljubljana Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT), University of Ljubljana. In 2002 he graduated from the Academy in film and TV directing, and in 2010 he completed his Masters Degree. Marko has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Academy, and as a director of films, docu-

mentary films and various TV shows. He has so far worked on more than 500 TV shows, among them: Studio City (a weekly informative), Victors (Viktorji - national media awards; 2004, 2005, 2008), As ti tud not padu? (a hit TV show), Zmago Batina – Take It or Leave It (a hit entertainment show), Cheers! (Na zdravje), Under the Hat (Pod klobukom), and many more. In 2007 Marko directed his first fiction feature film “Rooster’s Breakfast”, which, with 183.000 tickets sold, is one of the most viewed Slovenian films ever, and a recipient of many film awards at home and abroad.

Emil Loteanu (November 6, 1936 – April 18, 2003) was a Soviet and Moldovian film director. He moved to Moscow in his early life. Loteanu was born in Clocuşna, Moldova and after the death of his father and losing contact with his mother, who had moved to Romania, lived his early life on the streets, sleeping in warehouses and hostels. He studied at the Mkhat studio school and graduated from VGIK in 1962. He made his directorial debut with “Bolshaya gora” in 1960 at the Moldova Film

Studio, and continued to make films there until 1975, when he joined Mosfilm. Damian Le Bas was born in 1985 into a Romany family in southern England. He works as a writer, journalist and filmmaker and is a published poet. He studied Theology at Oxford University, graduating with First Class honours at the top of his year in 2006.

Phillip Osborne was born in 1985 in Portsmouth, England. He studied Fine Art at Oxford University and graduated in 2007. He lives and works in London as an artist, where he practises painting, sculpture, photography and film.

In 2000, a year after losing their homes in the Kosovo conflict, 161 Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian families from four Kosovo towns were moved to a “temporary community shelter”, the so-called Plemetina/Plemetin IDP Camp, 14 km north-west of Kosovo’s capital city. The camp residents organized, like a “mini municipality”. The years passed. The day comes – the year was 2004 – and the first Kosovo Prime Minister, Mr. Bajram Rexhepi, and the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary General, Mr. Søren Jessen-Petersen, visited the camp. They promised to close it. Two years later, some families have returned to their hometowns, and some still remain in camp barracks, but most families that did not own land are placed in two apartment buildings (now called Social Housing Buildings) at the same place where the camp used to be. KURR MOS U KTHE NË SHTËPI Regjia Sami Mustafa Në vitin 2000, një vit pas humbjes së shtëpive të tyre në konfliktin e Kosovës, 161 familje rome, ashkali, egjiptian nga katër qytete të Kosovës u zhvendosën në një “strehë të përkohshme të komunitetit”, të emëruar kampi Plemetin, 14 km në veriperëndim të kryeqytetit të Kosovës. Banorët e kampit organizuan një formë të mini-komunës. Shumë vitee kaluan. Vjen dita - ishte viti 2004 – kryeministri i parë i Kosovës, Bajram Rexhepi,dhe Përfaqësuesi Special i Sekretarit të Përgjithshëm, z. z Søren Jessen-Petersen vizitojnë kampin dhe premtojnë ta mbyllin atë. Dy vjet më vonë, disa familje kthehen në vendlindjet e tyre, dhe disa vazhdojnë të qëndrojnë në kazermat e kampit por shumica e familjeve që nuk janë pronarë tokash janë të vendosura në dy ndërtesa të banimit. NIKAD SE VRATITI KUĆI Režija Sami Mustafa 2000. godine, godinu dana nakon što su izgubile svoje domove tokom konflikta na Kosovu, 161 romska, aškalijska i egipćanska porodica, iz četiri kosovska grada, premeštene su u „privremeno utočište za zajednice“ takozvani Plemetina kamp za interno raseljena lica, 14km severoistočno od kosovskog glavnog grada. Stanovnici kampa su organizovali nešto poput „mini opštine“. Prošle su godine. Dolazi dan, a u pitanju je 2004. godina, kada su prvi kosovski premijer, gospodin Bajram Redžepi, i specijalni predstavnik Ujedinjenih nacija, iz generalnog sekretatijata, gospodin Jesen-Petersen, posetili kamp. Oni obećavaju da će zatvoriti kamp. Dve godine kasnije neke od porodica su se vratile svojim rodnim gradovima, neke i dalje ostale u kamp barakama, ali većina porodica koje nisu posedovale zemlju, smeštene su u dve stambene zgrade (sada zvane „socijalne stambene zgrade“) na istom mestu gde je bio i kamp. Harizmatični ciganski baron će nas provesti kroz svoje priče i svoju novu kuću. Naučićemo o najnovijim trendovima romskog dizajna nadgrobnih spomenika. Posetićemo podzemne domove od afričkog mermera, opremljene krevetima, plakarima, stereo-uređajima i napunjenim mobilnim telefonima– direktnom vezom sa „onim svetom“.

Jordan TODOROV graduated in Film Criticism from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts - Sofia, Bulgaria. He is co-author of the first “Encyclopaedia of Bulgarian Cinema”(Titra, Sofia, 1999). Jordan is a specialist in art-house cinema, a film collector and professional researcher. He is one of the best established journalists in Bulgaria specializing in feature portrait stories. He has written two short screenplays and many articles for the Bulgarian magazine Kino (Cinema), and “Democracy” and “Literature Forum” newspapers. From 2002 to 2008 worked for the 168 Hours

national weekly as feature portrait author, and was notorious for his unconventional and unexpected documentary stories. Since 2009 is a free-lance journalist and researcher. In 2004 he became correspondent of www.cinemaminima. com. Jordan is also the person behind one of the most prominent personal film weblogs in Bulgaria http://cineaste.blogspot.com. Currently Jordan works on his first feature-length documentary project A.C. Stephen Confidential, produced by Martichka Bozhilova, AGITPROP for ZDF/ARTE.

Music Bands Jimmy Band

“Jimmy Band” was created in 2009 of six young Roma people form Plemetina joined their talents together to make a mixed genre of Roma music of Talava, rock, pop and beatbox.

Driton Beriša

He is born on Decembar 29th on 1986 in Pristina. He was raised in Obilic where he finished his primary school and then after the war he moved to Plemetina village where he finished his High medicine school. His passion for guitar started in early ages but he never got to have his own guitar. He was learning by himself in beginning doing only solo of songs, after short time he has learned how to use chords and then started playing songs for friends and then writing and composing music. Today he has four instrumental songs and nine composed songs with text, and in some songs he has lyrics from his friends. Some of the music has already been used for documentaries. His passion of coming to songs was love, reality and feeling to create something beautiful that could be enjoyed while listening but also something that he could be reminded in older age of what he’s done.

Gipsy Groove

Gipsy Groove formed in 2010-2011 and play authentic Balkan Roma music, which they infuse with other musical influences: Jazz, Reggae, Funk, Ska, DnB etc. Their performances are charismatic, energetic and often improvised. Gipsy Groove is the first and only band in Kosovo who play original Roma music. The band members are from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and they bring this cultural diversity, as well as their interest in human rights and peace, into their performances. Gispy Groove has performed in : Great Anatolian Meeting of the World Cultures (TUR), Ngom Festival (KS), Green Festival (KS), National Theater (Ks),Culture Week of Roma, Ashkali , Egyptian festival (KS), Dosta campaign (Ks) Berlin- Youth Center –Roma Day (GER), Tirana Express- Alternative culture space (AL) , Big Brother Albania live show (AL), Opening Act of ESMA REDZEPOVA in Festival of culture of Roma , Ashkali and Egyptian (KS), International Romani Art Festival”IRAF” (RO), NGOM Festival*2 (KS),Roma Rythem2012 (KS) and we also play in clubs around the Balkans.
