Letter from the Editor
Dear Loyal Readers, “Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all.” -Helen Keller A few weeks ago, my father received an award for over thirty years of dedicated community service. During his acceptance speech, he told the family, friends, and colleagues gathered, “I don’t have a job. I have an adventure!” That’s what life is— an adventure. Sometimes it is easy. Sometimes it is rough. Sometimes you get crapped on. And sometimes you get celebrated. I’m not saying the adventure always needs to be rough, but if we did not have those bad adventures, then how would we know how sweet and beautiful those good ones really are.

So, I try to celebrate the good and the bad. Speaking (or writing) of celebrations, I want to celebrate the sixth issue. When I started back in January, June seemed so far away. I am so happy with how the magazine has grown. I’m thankful to all the amazing contributors from across the world who entrust me with their precious images. I’m also very thankful for the amazing professionals I work with each month to produce the cover image. A special shout-out goes to Brittany Rogers, Kanika Styles, and Akua Robinson. These wonderful women have been on some crazy adventures with me, and I want to formerly and publicly thank them for their beautiful spirits! Now that the June issue is published, I’m going to go celebrate! It’s my birthday month! Couldn’t you tell I was a Gemini?!? As always, I hope you enjoy your escape!
