Monty's Morning Show

Grades: 4th - 5th

Elementary flag duty involves a group of students who take on the responsibility of raising and lowering the American flag at the beginning and end of each school day. This duty holds a symbolic significance as the flag represents the unity and values of the nation. Students who are selected for flag duty are seen as respectful and responsible individuals, entrusted with the task of handling the flag with care and adhering to proper flag etiquette. This duty not only instills a sense of patriotism and pride in the students but also teaches them about the importance of honoring national symbols and participating in civic responsibilities from a young age. All 4th-5th students have the opportunity to participate. Registration is not needed.

All 4th and 5th grade students participate in Monty's Morning Show program. The show is broadcast live each day throughout all grade levels. As the show's leaders, students are responsible for all aspects of the production, including digital set design, lights, scripts, writing, etc. Students collaborate to write the daily script, provide technical support, and act as news anchors. Environmental Club

Inspired by the rapidly evolving world of robotics and AI, we're on a mission to cultivate the next generation of innovators. Our exclusive Robotics Team promises the thrill of competition and a chance to grasp the vital skills of tomorrow. Engage in hands-on robot-building experiences, hone problem-solving abilities, foster critical thinking, and embrace teamwork in a challenging and rewarding environment. VEX IQ Team is by invitation only. Program Fee: $185 per month

The Environmental Club aims to increase awareness of environmental issues and provide opportunities within our community for students to develop responsibility, take positive action, make an impact, and protect and improve our environment for the future. Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are invited to join the Environmental Club. Once selected, students will be required to attend regular meetings to discuss topics, participate in classroom educational lessons, and perform community service as a part of the program’s mission and vision during the school year. Student Council

National Elementary Honor Society

Grade Levels: 4th - 5th

The student council is a representative body of students elected by their peers. Its primary purpose is to give young students a voice and a platform to actively participate in the decision-making process within their school community. The student council provides an avenue for students to express their ideas, concerns, and suggestions, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility in shaping their school's environment. Members of the student council often organize and lead various events, fundraisers, and initiatives that aim to improve the school experience for all students. Through their involvement in the student council, elementary students learn valuable leadership skills, teamwork, and the importance of civic engagement from an early age. Beginning in 3rd grade, students may serve as class representatives. Fourthgrade students may choose to run for the office of vice president or treasurer. Fifth-grade students may choose to run for the office of president, secretary, or historian. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month.

The purpose of this reputable organization is to recognize students for their outstanding academic achievement, and personal responsibility, to provide service to the school and community, and to develop leadership skills in the students of elementary schools. Membership in a local chapter is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is by a faculty council and is based on outstanding scholarship and responsibility. Once selected, members are responsible for continuing to demonstrate these qualities and participating in chapter activities to build experience and improve skills in

Safety Patrol:

Grades: 4th - 5th

The Safety Patrol is a program designed to promote safety and responsibility among elementary school students. The safety patrol members are responsible for assisting their peers during arrival and dismissal times, as well as ensuring orderly conduct in hallways and on campus. They serve as role models by exhibiting proper behavior and emphasizing the importance of following rules to ensure the well-being of all students. By participating in the Safety Patrol, students not only gain a sense of leadership and community service but also contribute to a secure and organized school environment. This program instills values of accountability and teamwork while fostering a culture of safety awareness within the school community. All 4th-5th students will have the opportunity to participate in Safety Patrol. Registration not needed.

Sagemont Prep’s competitive volleyball team strives to cultivate a passion for volleyball, instill core values of respect, discipline, and resilience, and nurture athletes who thrive in the face of challenges. The team aims to inspire players to reach new heights in their skills, foster a sense of belonging, and represent our school with pride on and off the volleyball court.

Our competitive program does require prerequisites and a tryout.

Our Flag Football program is designed or athletes who are eager to learn the game of football in a safe and nclusive atmosphere. We focus on teaching the basics of passing, atching, and teamwork while emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play.

Little Veterinarian

Grades PS - K

In this after-school enrichment program, students will "adopt" their very own plush puppy and role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian, including how to properly perform a nose-to-tail exam. These future veterinarians will learn how to sew stitches, remove ticks, make healthy treats, and vaccinate their dogs. They will learn about topics such as nutrition, hydration, lacerations, administering medications, and more We will begin with a white coat ceremony and end with an informal graduation ceremony!

Gourmet Kids:

Grades PreSchool - 5th

Gourmet Kids is a delightful cooking class designed for young children Our focus is on fun projects that teach nutrition and good eating habits while sparking creativity in the kitchen. Our expert instructors create a nurturing environment where kids can explore hands-on activities. Beyond recipes, we educate children about the nutritional value of different ingredients, empowering them to make healthier food choices. We encourage a love for cooking through interactive and engaging sessions, promoting essential kitchen skills and a broader appreciation for diverse flavors. Join us for an enriching culinary journey that will leave a lasting positive impact on your child's relationship with food.

The Florida Fire Soccer Club is dedicated to developing character, integrity, and personal growth for the youth player, student-athlete, and future leader It serves the community with a continuing tradition of fun and excellence in developing players, coaches, and teams The Club features development and skill training for boys and girls of all ages and the development and continuing licensing education for all of our coaches. Our organization is committed to developing every player to their highest potential and encourages players to compete at the highest level of their ability. Supported by an active and involved board of directors made of active Firefighters, Paramedics, teachers, and local business owners, as well as career Soccer Coaches. Our highly trained staff is experienced in educating and motivating players, parents, and our staff to provide the best soccer experience possible. We focus on quality over quantity! Wired Wonders: Electronics and Inventions for Young Minds Grades 2nd - 5th

Join us to uncover the secrets of electronic circuits and unleash the power of creativity. Get your hands on cool components and create your very own wired inventions. From instruments to gadgets, the possibilities are endless. Let your imagination run wild. We use all sorts of exciting materials to make your creations stand out. Get ready for a world of fun, learning, and endless innovation.

Chess Club:

Grades Pre-K - 5th *Grouped by skill level

The main objective of this program is to use chess as a tool to improve your child’s self confidence, imagination, concentration and intuition, while developing logical, critical thinking, and reasoning skills. The course follows a project-task approach, and has appropriate activities according to the student's age and level!

Sporty Kids is the ultimate enrichment sports program designed to introduce young children to the world of sports and physical fitness in a fun and engaging way. Each week, we offer a variety of sports and activities, like basketball, football, baseball, tennis, cross-fit and more. With our unique approach, we promise an unforgettable first time sports experience for preschool age kids to stay active, have fun, and develop invaluable life skills.

All Conservatory of the Arts classes are open to the community. Sagemont Preparatory students will have preferred access to the classes of their choice.

Beginner Piano Lab: This class is designed for students with little or no keyboard experience who want to learn basic keyboard skills. Basic notation, theory, technique, sight-reading, repertoire, harmonization, improvisation, and ensemble activities are taught thoroughly and consistently. Students will learn basic piano playing skills, which include proper playing position, note names, and the locations of the notes on the staff about their placement on the keyboard. Harmonically, students will learn to identify, construct and play note intervals, major, minor, and chromatic scales and construct and perform major and minor chords on basic keys. Students will be introduced to ear training, dynamics, articulation markings, and notation symbols as they learn to interpret a variety of pieces in different styles with appropriate characteristic tones

Music for Little Beethovens: In this dynamic and interactive class, your child will embark on a musical journey filled with creativity, exploration, and the joy of learning to play the piano. Student talents will flourish as they learn, create, and connect through the enchanting world of piano music giving your young pianist the gift of music that will last a lifetime!

Guitar and Violin: Sunset Strings Academy sets the foundation for young students to begin learning stringed instruments in a fun, age-appropriate way. Our mission is to teach children to work together harmoniously to achieve their goals of learning to play the guitar or violin. Educational studies have shown that introducing music to a child’s life will benefit them socially and emotionally and help build confidence, friendships, and a genuine appreciation for music. We are a unique ensemble of extraordinary Music Specialists focused on mentoring string orchestral students in a safe, loving environment conducive to serenity, peace, and mindfulness. Instruments are not included and must be bought or rented prior to class.

Ballroom Dance: Students who have had little or no instruction in these styles of dance should begin their instruction here The purpose of this class is to build confidence and gain additional dance experience with a partner This class introduces students to the art and styles of social ballroom dancing and provides the necessary skills and understanding for an appreciation of the artistic, social qualities and etiquette needed for each of the dances.

Ceramics: In this hands-on intensive, students will master techniques including throwing pots, sculpting clay, firing pieces, and glazing, creating sturdy ceramic structures while conducting a creative design process. Students will also learn to properly use ceramic materials and tools such as spinning wheels, kilns, and other hand-crafting sculpting tools to achieve their creative vision with the ceramic medium.

Extended Day

Our Before & After School Programs offer students enriching opportunities for discovery and exploration before and after the normal school day hours. These programs provide numerous options for fun while also reinforcing the essential lessons and values taught throughout the school day.

From the simple pleasures of sports and games to the more complex STEM and engineering projects – students will receive a one-of-a-kind experience they’ll look forward to each day.

Our Extended Day program allows busy working families the flexibility to drop-off before the school day starts and pick-up after the normal dismissal time. Our program is organized into five subject areas that are designed to provide your child with opportunities to learn valuable life skills, and to reinforce the skills they’re learning during the school day, while providing plenty of time for fun with friends.
