CLIMATE AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT PROJECT This project is an investigation into a climate and natural environment It is an individual project that can be done in a variety of different formats…     

If you decide to complete your project as a website, blog or wikispace you must see me to discuss this as I want to ensure that you know how to use the technology before you start.

THIS PROJECT IS WORTH 10% OF YOUR FINAL SUMMER EXAMINATION

** As this is counting towards your final exam mark it is not acceptable to copy information directly out of the book or to copy & paste information from a web page. The exception to this is the use of images/video, you must include a page at the back that says where the images came from. **


The Task Choose TWO CLIMATE TYPES from the following three broad climatic zones (they must be from different zones)  Hot  Temperate  Cold For example, Deserts and Boreal Climate…fill-in below:

You are going to produce the project based on the two climate named above. The project should be arranged as below: Title Page (or Home Page) Contents page (can be done last) SECTION ONE: Where are your chosen climates located? Use a map with a key / describe in words using where the climate is located. SECTION TWO In what ways are the climates in your chosen locations different? Use climate graphs to show the differences in climate. Briefly describe in words how the climates are different. SECTION 3 Can you briefly explain WHY you get different climates in these locations? Think about the work we have done on air movement / ocean currents / temperature differences!


SECTION 4 Using images and just 60 word describe and explain how the environments of the chosen climate types are different…  Vegetation  Wildlife  Soil SECTION 5 For each example use images to explain how either an animal or type of vegetation has adapted to its environment. For example, how has a camel adapted or a coniferous tree? SECTION 6 Choose ONE environment…in what ways have human activities affected the natural environment? AGREED HAND IN DATE:
