Welcome to campus, everyone. For some of you, welcome to college! And for others of us, welcome back. With the start of every new school year, there is one constant: change. From campuses to classes. Friends to teachers. Youth to adulthood. While daunting, the change many of us are making for ourselves by attending classes here will be for the betterment of our futures. Change is also not just on the student side, Sacramento City College is changing too. For the betterment of us. They are providing us the opportunity to continue our education in ways that are tailor-made to benefit students. Many students here at the Sacramento City Express newspaper major in journalism. Shocking, I know. One of the changes we are experiencing at Express is the combination of our print and online editions of the paper. Until this year, the print edition and online edition of the paper worked side by side. Now, we are just one. With this comes a new curriculum, new ideas and

As a student, school is just a portion of your life. We know that. We are students too. We want to broaden our horizon and yours. We want to introduce you to new restaurants around school. We want to help you find a park for a pickup game of basketball. You need a map of the campus? We’ve got one for you. When and where is the next Farmers Market? We can assist. We have multiple social media platforms you can use to send us your thoughts and ideas. Please send us ideas! Perhaps the first thing we should do together is change our vocabulary. Instead of fearing change, let’s embrace evolution.
