WHAT IS TAGA?
TAGA stands for the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts
Established in 1948, TAGA is the only global professional technical association for the graphic arts industries. TAGA has the industry’s best collection of technical papers and abstracts, written by some of the 300 world-renowned industry professional members of TAGA. TAGA focuses on traditional areas of press, ink and paper engineering applications as well as cutting edge graphic arts systems, software, and computer technology developments. Every year, the TAGA Annual Technical Conference is the main destination for student chapters and industry members from around the globe. At this conference, TAGA Student Chapter publications are judged as they compete to win the grand prize, the Helmut Kipphan Student Publication Award, “The Cup,” for best overall student technical journal.

WHAT IS RYETAGA? RyeTAGA stands for the Ryerson Technical Association of the Graphic Arts RyeTAGA is an official Student Chapter of TAGA. Our chapter consists of students from the Ryerson University Graphic Communications Management (GCM) Program. RyeTAGA is advised by a faculty advisor, but distinctively remains entirely student-run. RyeTAGA provides students with industry experience. The approximately 60 student members of RyeTAGA are dedicated to focusing their efforts on the design, planning and production aspects of the technical journal in hopes of winning the Helmut Kipphan Cup along with various other industry awards.
What do we do? JOURNAL PRODUCTION
Each student chapter is required to produce an innovative journal, which is judged based on the cover, content, theme and overall production. The journal includes the top 6 proficient technical research papers, written and submitted by GCM’s third year students. Members of RyeTAGA complete production of the technical journal in its entirety. This year’s journal will be printed at Ryerson. Using the skills and knowledge we’ve gained, we write, design, proof, preflight, impose, print, bind and package each journal. PUBLICATIONS ABOUT RYETAGA

SPONSORSHIP
RyeTAGA’s success exists because of the support of our generous sponsors. While we do host fundraisers to help cover fees, we still rely on the generosity offered from the graphic arts industry to assist with producing our outstanding technical journal publication and the costs incurred to travel to the annual TAGA conference. We also appreciate other forms of donations such as software, materials, expertise, or assistance during the production of our journal publication.
COLLABORATE WITH STUDENTS
Broaden Your Network
RyeTAGA’s students are educated in Canada’s only degree-granting program for the graphic arts industry at Ryerson University. They spend four years learning about printing process, premedia, and advanced printing technologies. Our members are bright and keen to get involved with the local industry and we would love to speak about opportunities where we could help you—whether that’s offering insight, testing products or materials, volunteering manpower, or we’d happy to discuss any other ways you think we could be of assistance.
There will be over 150 industry professionals around the world attending the TAGA conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico this year. Each conference attendee will receive a copy of our journal, which will include an industry supporters spread. This will provide sponsors with the connection to international industry professionals from around the world.
Donation
The TAGA annual conference provides a network link for industry and students. If you decide to sponsor us, your brand will gain exposure amongst the top educators and researchers of the graphic arts industry. Your company would be providing students an opportunity to meet ambitious international students and learn about current industry trends. Your level of support will have direct impact on the success of our journal in the competition.
We would be grateful if you could help sponsor our initiative. Our suggested minimum donation is $100, for which you will receive an honourable mention published in our technical journal as well as our website. In addition, we are offering sponsorship levels that will provide more opportunities for exposure, please see sponsorship levels.
