The training provided in each of the seven courses is based on the DACUM Chart Job and Task Analy‐ sis—the document that outlines all the Du es, Tasks, and Steps an RV Technician is expected to know. The DACUM is also known as the RV Service Technician Standard and is further broken down to align with the levels of the RV Career Ladder.

In this course technicians gain a level of proficiency in several core knowledge areas:

If you are currently cer fied or have an expired cer fica on, you do not need to take the Registered Test. You may proceed up the ladder.

1. Propane: how propane is stored in the RV, how it’s delivered to appliances, and the materials and safety devices employed to ensure its safe and efficient use. 2. Basic Electricity: the fundamentals of electricity, including Ohm’s law manipula on, electrical diagram interpreta on, and the use of basic test equipment. 3. Interior: important fire, life, and safety informa on is explained, along with instruc ons for rou ne care and cleaning of interior services.

4. Technical: welding systems, pre‐delivery inspec on, and understanding the im‐ portance of customer rela ons make up the Technical sec on of the course.

Appropriate for Registered Technicians, this course offers training for the tradi onal, comprehensive path to cer fica on—the ‘le ’ side of the Career Ladder. Within the nine sec ons of the course, technicians receive training in: 1. Electrical: service power sources, wiring, and inspec on and tes ng. 2. Brakes, Suspension, and Towing. 3. Plumbing: fresh water, waste water, and propane piping. 4. Appliances: air condi oning, water heaters, furnaces, refrigerators, and cooktops. 5. Generators: opera on and control and components. 6. Hydraulics: components and controls and maintenance and troubleshoo ng. 7. Exterior/Interior: body, roof, and slideouts.
