A

new year should always bring optimism, and the RBCC has started 2015 with a positive spirit that business is continuing despite the political tensions between the UK and Russia. As I write, there seem to be few if any signs of an improvement in high level political relationships, but some recent developments at other levels have been encouraging, and the resilience of you, our members, and other business people continues to be very impressive – many still see the positives and are not prepared to walk away from the business and the valuable personal relationships they have developed over many years.

Our teams in Moscow, St Petersburg and London are determined to do all we can to continue to support you. Please note that our St Petersburg activities are not only continuing, but thriving, thanks to our team there – well done to them for keeping the momentum going in difficult times.

As reported in this Bulletin, the RBCC recently joined forces with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (a Russian organization with excellent links all over Russia and the support of the Russian government), the Russian Embassy and the Russian Trade Delegation to arrange and host a Roadshow for a number of regional Governors and Vice-Governors in London. Strange timing, you might say, given the present state of the relationship between the UK and Russia? Actually, we felt the timing was great, and we hope served to counterbalance to some extent the relentlessly negative media coverage of the relationship between our countries.

The fact that the visit took place at all shows Russia’s continued willingness to engage with the UK on a business level. The fact that the Governors and ViceGovernors prioritized coming to London is evidence of the recognition across Russia that the UK remains an important investor, that there is value in developing relationships further and that “brand UK” continues to represent quality. Perhaps most significantly, the numbers of UK delegates that turned out to meet the Governors and Vice-Governors and to participate in some enjoyable, interesting and good-humoured debates and question and answer sessions proved that regional Russia is of great interest to UK companies and entrepreneurs.

There is much talk of “Russia outside Moscow and St Petersburg” but rarely is there an opportunity to meet

with the key decision makers from a number of key regions, and UK companies rightly took advantage of this. As was pointed out early on in the proceedings, none of the regions represented (Nizhniy Novgorod, Kaluga, Tula, Rostov, Leningrad regions) are producers of energy-sector natural resources. Their strengths are human capital, processing, manufacturing, hi-tech, agriculture, etc. In those areas, perhaps, lies the true wealth of Russia going forward. Most striking about the whole Roadshow was the truly dynamic attitude of the Governors and Vice-Governors, who made it very clear to the audiences that their regions are not only open for business, but able and willing to handle inward investment and do business in a mature, modern, 21st century way, with a real recognition of the priorities and concerns that investors have. We were delighted that the events went so well, and that good contacts were made in the open sessions and one-to-one meetings.

Turning to the UK regions, the RBCC has also participated recently in events run by our members and others in Manchester, Newcastle, Blackburn and Worcester. Why? Because we can talk with authority about the real relationships (at a person to person level) between Russia and the UK; because with our 99 years of experience we have a perspective that perhaps some other commentators do not have, and can therefore provide a view different to that in the newspapers; and because we believe that a fundamental part of our role is to encourage and assist bridges to be built – for the good of our members and others.

The interest in Russia among UK companies remains high, but of course their perspective on whether their businesses can be successful in Russia is affected by sanctions, Rouble devaluation, financing issues, etc. In all our offices, we try to help companies understand how challenges, new and old, can be met.

Sergei Averin has recently joined the RBCC’s London office as Liaison Manager with the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (the umbrella organization for 178 Russian regional Chambers), replacing Boris Rudny who had been here for some nine years, and we welcome him warmly. Further information about Sergei appears later in this Bulletin.

He will be attending our events, and I encourage you to meet him. Our relationship with the RFCCI is a good one, and Sergei and his colleagues play a key role in developing relationships in the Russian regions.

Finally, a plug if I may for our London Gala Dinner (2 June) and Business Forum (3 June) – more than ever, we really need your support for our events, and would be delighted to see you there… and then “RussiaTalk” is scheduled for 21 October, so that would be a good time to be in Moscow!

овый год всегда начинается с оптимизмом, вот и РБТП начала свою работу в новом 2015 году с положительным настроем, несмотря на продолжающуюся политическую напряженность между Великобританией и Россией. В момент написания этих строк сдвигов к лучшему в политических отношениях на высшем уровне не наблюдается, но в других сферах появляются положительные тенденции. Многие наши члены и другие представители деловых кругов не готовы отказаться от личных связей и деловых проектов, построенных за многие годы. Наши офисы в Москве, Санкт-Петербурге и Лондоне намерены продолжать свою работу, оказывая поддержку нашим членам. Обращаю ваше внимание на то, что наш офис в Санкт-Петербурге не только не сократил, но значительно активизировал свою деятельность в городе – большое им спасибо за отличную работу в непростых условиях! В этом выпуске Бюллетеня подробно освещается наш совместный проект с Агентством Стратегических Инициатив (российской организацией, имеющей прекрасную сеть контактов по всей России и поддержку российского правительства), Посольством и Торгпредством РФ по организации визита региональных губернаторов и вице-губернаторов в Великобританию. Не самое подходящее время для такого визита, скажете вы, ведь отношения между Великобританией и Россией далеко не дружественные? А мы считаем, что как раз в такое время и нужны подобные мероприятия, чтобы хоть как то разбавить негативное освещение событий в прессе. Сам факт проведения такого визита уже доказывает, что Россия хочет продолжать сотрудничество на деловом уровне. А то, что губернаторы и вице-губернаторы отдали предпочтение Лондону, свидетельствует о том, что в России Великобританию продолжают рассматривать как важного инвестора, что развитие двусторонних отношений приветствуется и марка "сделано в Великобритании", также как и раньше, ассоциируется в России с высоким качеством. Однако больше всего нас порадовало большое количество делегатов - представителей британского бизнеса, пришедших на мероприятие и принявших участие в интересных и доброжелательных дебатах и сессиях вопросов и ответов. Для нас это явилось доказательством того, что российские регионы представляют большой интерес для британских компаний и предпринимателей. Часто приходится слышать о том, что "Россия – это не только Москва и Санкт-Петербург", однако возможности познакомиться с руководителями наиболее важных российских регионов представляются редко, и британские бизнесмены с удовольствием RBCC Bulletin · Issue 2 - 2015

воспользовались таким шансом. Как было отмечено в самом начале мероприятия, ни один из представленных регионов (Нижний Новгород, Калуга, Тула, Ростов, Ленинградская область) не являются производителями энергоносителей. Их сильными сторонами можно назвать человеческий капитал, переработку, производство, высокие технологии, сельское хозяйство и т.п. Нам представляется, что именно эти сферы призваны обеспечить процветание России. Больше всего в процессе визита нас воодушевил динамичный и позитивный настрой губернаторов и вицегубернаторов, которые убедили аудиторию в том, что их регионы не только открыты для бизнеса, но и имеют благоприятные условия для инвестиций и ведения бизнеса по современным стандартам 21 века и понимание потребностей инвесторов. Мы рады, что визит прошел очень успешно, и что в процессе открытых заседаний и встреч один на один было установлено много важных контактов. Переводя внимание к регионам Великобритании, РБТП также недавно приняла участие в мероприятиях, организованных нашими членами и другими организациями в Манчестере, Ньюкасле, Блэкберне и Вустере. Почему? Потому что мы можем авторитетно говорить о реальных отношениях (на личностном уровне) между Великобританией и Россией; потому что с высоты нашего 99-летнего опыта мы можем объективнее, чем многие комментаторы и средства массовой информации, оценить сложившуюся ситуацию; и, наконец, потому что мы считаем нашей основной задачей развитие двусторонних отношений на благо наших членов и других организаций. Среди британских компаний интерес к России не ослабевает, но, конечно, на перспективы их успешной работы в России влияют санкции, девальвация рубля, финансовые трудности так далее. Все три наших офиса стараются помогать компаниям понимать эти сложности и находить пути к их решению. Недавно в нашем лондонском офисе появился новый сотрудник – Сергей Аверин, менеджер по работе с Торгово-Промышленной Палатой РФ (объединяющей 178 региональных торговых палат в России). Сергей пришел на замену Борису Рудному, который проработал на этом посту 9 лет. Сергей будет принимать участие в наших мероприятиях, и я надеюсь, что вы с ним познакомитесь. РБТП имеет прочные отношения с ТТП РФ; Сергей и его коллеги играют ключевую роль в развитии отношений с российскими регионами. И наконец, я бы хотел прорекламировать наш Гала Ужин (2 июня) и Бизнес Форум (3 июня) в Лондоне – как никогда нам нужна ваша поддержка, и мы были бы рады приветствовать вас на этих мероприятиях. “RussiaTalk” намечен на 21 октября (как обычно, мероприятие пройдет в здании ТТП РФ рядом с Красной Площадью), так что постарайтесь быть в это время в Москве!

Meet Yevgeny Merkel

Partner at Excelion Partners International Ltd. and Member of the RBCC Board of Directors

When did you get involved with the RBCC and what does this role mean to you?

From the beginning, a lot of our company’s business was cross-border: Europe, Russia and the UK – and, at that time, we had just opened our second office in Moscow.

So we were looking for networking opportunities in London and for companies doing business between Russia and the UK. That’s why, in the summer of 2011, Excelion Partners joined the RBCC. We were immediately impressed by the quality and the number of events, as well as by other opportunities to find relevant businesses both in Russia and in the UK. We were not only able to meet several prospective clients but also to become informed on what was going on between the RBCC Bulletin · Issue 2 - 2015

two countries. This was important for us then as much as it is now. Then, about 3 years later, I was asked to join the Board of the Directors- I felt honoured and gladly accepted. And it has just been over a year since I became one of the Directors.

I still remain a member of the RBCC and, by trying to be active, facilitate interaction between Russia and the UK’s business communities. Being a Board member means having even more responsibilities in this area. And, obviously, the corporate governance is very important: we advise our executive management and provide support and help. We are also there for them when they want to discuss new ideas.

IN PERSON How do you value the Chamber's contribution to developing business relations between the two countries?

I think one could not underestimate its role, considering it is one of the oldest Chambers in Europe, as far as I am aware- it will be 100 years old in 2016! It has been active throughout its entire history, despite two World Wars, the Cold War, and the Berlin Wall. It survived many crises and I am sure it will survive the current difficult times. Obviously, one also needs to understand that the Chamber is more helpful for small and medium size companies, not always for bigger companies, which have other means of interacting in business communities and contacts. But for those who are new in this market space or would like to establish a relationship with the country they don’t know, or for SMEs, who have no experience doing business cross-border, this is an excellent platform.

How did you start your career? What brought you into executive search and leadership advisory?

As a company, we provide executive search services, management assessment, organisation design, board advisory (mainly for international companies doing cross-border business) and leadership advisory. I have been in this industry now for over 12 years, having previously worked in strategy consulting. I work across Europe – in Moscow, Vienna and London where we have offices. We also work quite a lot for Russian investors who are based in London and investor businesses across Europe. We help them to identify and attract top management who would be able to deliver their business plan and achieve their strategic goals; we also help them to put effective organisational structures in place and much more…

What do you think about the current situation: political tension, sanctions, a bit of a slow-down?

What is your advice for dealing with these?

I am personally upset that the relations between the countries deteriorated to this extent. Nevertheless, I believe that this is going to improve - hopefully in the near future, once the situation is resolved politically. It is also important to remember that this is not the first crisis in the relationship between the countries. We need to be able to separate things related to politics and those related to business. We should try to do “business as usual” where possible, and hope that the political situation will improve in the meantime. We need to respect the sanctions, of course, but we should try to carry on and be positive. We should remember also that 1998 and 2008 were not easy, but the companies that stayed committed to Russia were much better off afterwards than their competitors who had left.

I remember that during the crisis of 1998, two very similar companies in strategy consulting – McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) – made two very different decisions: the former decided to stay committed to the country and the latter decided to close its office in Moscow. And when BCG tried to re-open in early 2000- when the economy started booming againthey faced substantial challenges in regaining their market position.

In this situation, again, there will be very clear winners and losers. Those who find a way to navigate in the uncertain environment will come out as winners.

In times like these, there are also many interesting opportunities for doing business; for increasing market share, buying local businesses, extending relationships with business partners, while competitors are hesitating or leaving. I also believe that, as the saying goes, “A friend in need is a friend indeed”, and it applies to both sides.

What are the biggest mistakes made in managing companies on different levels? In different countries?

The biggest problems are generalising or making wrong assumptions, which leads to unwise decisions. Avoid stereotypes and generalisations. Being informed and properly assessing the situation are keys to success.

There should be healthy scepticism, but you must keep an open mind and use positive thinking- this applies in all countries.

What would be your tips for British business people setting out to do business in Russia and the other way round?

I guess, my advice is – go and meet people who have done it, and come and speak to the Chamber and see how you can benefit from the RBCC’s experience and capabilities. Be prepared to learn, to deal with new situations, but be positive, and remember that although there are risks - with risks come opportunities and rewards, so manage your risks accordingly.

What makes an effective leader?

An effective leader is somebody who is able to listen, make quick decisions, react to changes in situations and be flexible‌as well as to provide vision and inspire.

A leader must also be honest and committed, and passionate about what he or she is doing.

Talking about Russia - there is now a new generation of managers in the country who are not afraid of taking responsibility and are not locked in a subordinate structure. Many of them now have international experience too.

What does your typical working week look like and what do you like to do in your free time, if you get any?

I work long hours, my week is very intense: I travel 1-2 times a week, have meetings in different places; usually have 4-5 very productive days in a row. And so I like proper weekends. I try to catch up on sleep and I do lots of sports: skiing, playing golf, running, going to the gym, sailing, climbing, hiking in the mountains and swimming. I like to spend my weekends outdoors. I usually do cultural events during the week like going to exhibitions and galleries as well as catching up with my friends who I missed during the week..

У многих из них также есть и международный опыт. Какие основные ошибки делает руководители на разных уровнях? Одинаковы ли они в разных странах? Основные проблемы - это обобщения и ошибочные допущения, которые ведут к неправильным

Конечно, доля здорового скепсиса необходима, но также нужно быть открытым для новых идей и иметь позитивный настрой, и это работает во всех странах. Какие советы Вы могли бы дать британским бизнесменам, желающим работать в России и наоборот? Мой совет - познакомьтесь с теми, кто уже это делает, свяжитесь с РБТП и узнайте, насколько полезным для вас может оказаться опыт и связи Палаты. Будьте готовы учиться, сталкиваться с неожиданными ситуациями, но будьте позитивны. И помните: риски, конечно, есть, но с ними приходят и возможности, так что умейте управлять своими рисками. Как проходит Ваша обычная рабочая неделя? Что Вы любите делать в свободное время, если оно у Вас есть?

Мой рабочий день длится долго, и неделя очень насыщенная: я езжу в командировки 1-2 раза в неделю, имею несколько деловых встреч в разных местах, обычно 4-5 дней подряд я работаю очень интенсивно. Owning Residential Property in the United Kingdom Steven Strauss, Managing Partner, Simmons Gainsford LLP Despite a cooling in the Central London property market, the United Kingdom, (“UK”) and London in particular, remains a popular place to own residential property, either as a home or as an investment. In the main, this market has been buoyed by s i g n i f i c a nt investments being made from overseas, mainly by those classified for tax purposes as not domiciled in the UK (“Non Doms”).

In both scenarios, as the property is let to unconnected parties, there will be no liability under the Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED) though a return will still be required if the value of the property exceeds £2 million, £1 million for return periods starting 1 April 2015 and £500,000 for return periods commencing 1 April 2016.

Following changes announced on 4 December 2014, Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) will now be due at rates up to 12% on the acquisition of properties in both scenarios.

Whilst the headline rate has now increased, the calculation of the liability is no longer on a “slab” basis, i.e. one rate depending on the purchase price, but is instead calculated applying rates through various bands as is the case for income tax.

Recent and proposed changes to UK tax law has meant that some of the tried and tested structures for owning residential property may no longer be appropriate in some circumstances.

In this article I set out some of the options which are available and the benefits, and downsides, of owning residential property through structures for Non Doms investing in or looking to set up home in the UK. Owning Residential Property As An Investment Where a Non Dom who is not a UK resident is looking to acquire residential property as an investment, i.e. to let on commercial terms to third party tenants, there are broadly two options: i) Direct ownership by the individual; or ii) Ownership through a corporate entity Direct ownership is straight forward and will avoid the cost of operating companies and trusts. However, it should be borne in mind that the value of the property, net of any secured loans taken out to acquire the property, will be subject to Inheritance Tax on the death of the owner regardless of whether the owner is resident and/or domiciled in the UK. The net rental income arising will, if owned directly, be subject to income tax at rates up to 45%.

Where property is owned through a corporate entity, incorporated and managed outside of the UK, then the individual will not be treated as owning a UK asset as he or she will instead own shares in the Non resident company.

As a consequence there will not be a liability to Inheritance Tax on the death of the individual as there would in a direct ownership scenario.

In addition, companies owning UK property pay a flat 20% on their net rental income regardless of quantum.

The rates now applicable to residential property are as follows: Purchase price element 0 – 125,000 125,001 – 250,000 250,001 – 925,000 925,001 – 1,500,000 1,500,001 and over

SDLT rate 0% 2% 5% 10% 12%

So a property that cost £2m, would have the first £125,000 free from SDLT, the next £125,000 taxed at 2%, the next £675,000 at 5%, the next £575,000 at 10% and the final £500,000 at 12%, for a total charge of £153,750.

Previously such a property would have attracted a liability of £140,000 calculated at a flat 7%.

The breakeven value for properties, i.e. the value at which SDLT would have been charged at the same level is £937,000.

Finally Capital Gains Tax will now be charged on disposals of properties by non-residents taking place after 5 April 2015, although the full details of the proposals have not yet been published.

Owning Residential Property For Personal or Family Use SDLT is charged at a flat rate of 15% on all properties acquired by companies and certain partnerships where the acquisition does not fall within one of the business exemptions where the purchase price exceeds £500,000.

Therefore whilst there may still be benefits of acquiring properties through corporate structures in certain circumstances, which are considered below, the likelihood is that the SDLT entry charge will be prohibitive for many future property acquisitions.

What to Do With Existing Structures Whilst property held in existing structures will not be subject to the 15% SDLT charge, which applies only to purchases, there has been, since April 2013, an annual liability to the ATED where the property was valued in excess of £2million. This annual charge currently ranges between £15,400 and £143,750 depending on the value of the property, but in December 2014 it was announced that these would increase to between £23,350 to £218,200 from 1 April 2015. Properties worth between £1 million and £2 million will be subject to a £7,000 annual charge from April 2015 and properties worth between £500,000 and £1 million will be subject to an annual charge of £3,500 from April 2016.

Properties within the ATED charge are also liable to Capital Gains Tax in relation to the proportion of gain which has accrued since April 2013.

Properties owned directly are not subject to the ATED charge and gains arising on properties not subject to the ATED charge will only be subject to Capital Gains Tax after April 2015.

However the value of property held in this way is still likely to be outside of the scope of IHT and in many cases a possible IHT liability at 40% of the value of the property will still exceed the ATED liability and ongoing management charges.

Which set of taxes is likely to be most relevant will depend on individual circumstances.

For example, a Non Dom in their thirties moving to the UK to work or for family education is less likely to be concerned with IHT and indeed, at relatively young age it may be cheaper to cover any IHT exposure with life assurance than to go through the expense of setting up a structure for property ownership.

At the other end of the scale, a person who is, say, in his seventies, living in a house of significant net value might find it hard to find life assurance cover and so might consider retaining the structure to retain the IHT benefits it provides.

Most Non Doms will fall between these two extremes and so will need to consider their own circumstances before deciding what is best for them.

For Non Doms who are UK resident there may well be tax charges crystallised if structures are dismantled and property returned to direct ownership.

It is therefore important that any Non Dom who owns UK property takes professional advice about their tax position and whether any structure is right for them and their family.

It should of course be borne in mind that there are many reasons why it may be sensible to own property either directly or through a company or trust, which are outside the scope of this article.

В основном этот рынок поддерживался значительными вложениями из-за рубежа, прежде всего теми , кто с точки зрения закона о налогообложении не являются домицилями (стат ус налогоплательщика, унаследованный от родителей) в Великобритании. Недавно предложенные изменения в налоговом законодательстве Великобритании привели к тому, что некоторые из давно испытанных и проверенных структур владения жилой собственностью при некоторых обстоятельствах стали неуместными. Чистый доход, получаемый от аренды, в случае непосредственного владения собственностью, подлежит подоходному налогу до 45%. Если владеть собственностью через юридическое лицо, зарегистрированное и управляемое вне пределов Великобритании, то физическое лицо не считатся владельцем имущества в Великобритании, так как он или она будут владеть акциями нерезидентной компании. В результате в случае смерти физического лица не возникает налога на наследство, как это происходит при непосредственном владении собственностью. Кроме того, чистая арендная прибыль компаний, владеющих недвижимостью в Великобритании, подлежит налогооблажению по фиксированному тарифу 20%, независимо от суммы. В обоих случаях, так как собственность сдается в аренду в коммерческих целях третьим лицам, нет налогобложения согласно положениям Годового Налога на Огражденное Жилое Имущество (ГНОЖИ), хотя требуется сдача ежегодных деклараций, если стоимость недвижимого имущества превышает £2 млн., £1 млн. для деклараций за период, начинающийся с 1-го апреля 2015г. и £500 000 - за период, начинающийся с1-го апреля 2016г. После изменений, объявленных 4-ого декабря 2014 года, Гербовый Сбор Земельного Налога будет налогооблагаться по ставкам до 12% в обоих случаях приобретения недвижимости. Тарифы, применяемые для налогообложения жилой недвижимости: Покупная цена Ставка гербового сбора 0 – £125 000 0% £125 001 – £250 000 2% £250 001 – £925 000 5% £925 001 – £1 500 000 10% £1 500 001 и более 12% Таким образом, в случае, если недвижимость стоит £2 млн., первые £125 000 освобождены от

гербового сбора, следующие £125 000 облагаются налогом по ставке в 2%, следующие £675 000 фунтов стерлингов по ставке 5%, последующие £575 000 - по ставке в 10%, и последние £500 000 по ставке 12%, и общая сумма налогообложения составит £153 750. Ранее при покупке подобной недвижимости налоговая задолженность составила бы £140 000, рассчитанная по фиксированному тарифу в 7%. Гербовый сбор не изменился для недвижимости стоимостью в £937 000, то есть начисленная налоговая задолженность была бы одинаковой при действии и старых, и новых правил. И в заключение, после 5-го апреля 2015 года продажа недвижимости нерезидентами подлежит налогообложению на прирост капитала, хотя предложенные поправки к законопроекту пока не опубликованы. Everybody has to think in their areas what they can do to make things a little bit better.

Since last autumn we have been working really hard to implement changes in our key outlets to make them more accustomed to the current needs of the guests. We have changed the concept of Café Russe restaurant to that of a brasserie, we returned to the tradition of having lavish Sunday brunches, we are constantly offering new formats of tastings & master classes to make this place a centre of attention. We planned the renovation of our signature outlet, O2 Lounge, in advance, and opened it this January with a stunning new interior and innovative cuisine concept. As business has slowed down, we have taken that opportunity to re-imagine the place and made a serious investment into having a competitive product for our guests. And once again we have outperformed our own expectations with that pro-active O2 Lounge

For instance, in the Sales and Marketing department we are now embracing a more active, even aggressive strategy. Our sales people are constantly on the road selling. They try to stay closer than before to the customers, closer to their key accounts to understand how their clients feel the market, what is important for them at present, and how can we assist them in solving their problems and making their business life a little bit easier. It is all a matter of attitude and how you put yourself: are you offensive or defensive, are you passive or are you upfront facing the challenges. As a result, we seem to have found new ways to get business into the hotel and we are doing pretty well in the last few months.

The Evolution of Professional Project Management PRINCE2 is one of the UK Government's ‘secret’ success stories. Since the initiative was launched it has boosted thousands of careers and helped hundreds, if not thousands, of companies to better manage their projects.

Although it started as a government initiative to develop a standard Best Practice ‘framework’, the commercial business sector saw that its approach could be applied effectively to projects in any industry sector.

Chamber News Good-bye Boris Rudny

Boris Nikolaevich Rudny has recently retired from the RBCC in London, where he worked for nearly ten years.

Boris provided the London office with invaluable advice, support and companionship. It was thanks to him that the annual Gala Dinner was conceived in 2008.

His presence at events and contributions to discussions gave a different and learned dimension to many debates.

His vital role, as the link between the RBCC and the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, kept relations positive, whatever the political situation between our countries.

Everyone at the RBCC wishes Boris all the best for the future, and he remains an active supporter of the Chamber's. Everyone at the RBCC thanks him for his wide-ranging contributions during his time with us and wishes him the best for the future. Welcome Sergei Averin

Sergei Averin in the new Representative of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the RBCC London office.

Sergei was born in the Siberian town of Borzia, Russia, located close to the Mongolian and Chinese borders, in 1968.

He studied Mandarin, English, Economy and Law. He holds degrees from the Russian Chita Teacher Training College (1992), the Chinese Huhot Teacher Training University (1990), the Irkutsk Narodnaya Academy (1994), the New York Hunter College (1996) and the Moscow Academy of Foreign Trade (2010).

Since 2014 Sergei has held the position of Chief Expert at the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Moscow. One of his major responsibilities was to promote Russian - Chinese bilateral business relations.

Sergei is very experienced in the field of foreign business relations, with a particular expertise in the legal regulation of international trade. Sergei has worked for various companies outside Russia: 1996-2000 in the USA; 2002-2005 in China.

Guernsey Finance appoints International Business Development Director Guernsey Finance has appointed Kate Clouston as its first Director of International Business Development.

Miss Clouston, who has joined Guernsey Finance this month, will be responsible for leading additional international business development work, with a par ticular fo cus on evaluating and developing new geographical markets. She will also be involved in identifying and implementing development strategies around emerging financial products and attracting new companies to Guernsey.

Miss Clouston, who can speak six languages including Chinese and Arabic, has previous experience as a Programme Head for the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), the independent British think tank engaged in cutting edge defence and security research, as a Media Analyst for Edelman StrategyOne and as a Senior Researcher at the House of Commons.

International Competition in Foreign Languages Awards Ceremony in the Moscow Kremlin On April 22 2015 the Awards Ceremony for the winners of the International Competition in Foreign Languages (part of the Project “Unity in Diversity”) and the professional competition for English teachers “The Best English Lesson” was held in the Moscow Kremlin.

The project was initiated by the company RELOD and implemented in cooperation with the Moscow Kremlin Museums and Oxford University Press. The competition jury consisted of teachers from leading schools in Moscow and Russia.

The Patron of the Competition “Unity in Diversity” was His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, from the British side, and Tatyana Potyaeva, Commissioner for Human Rights in Moscow, from the Russian side.

This year, the competition attracted more than 400 participants from 23 cities of Russia and Belarus.

The largest Debenhams department store in Russia to open in AVIAPARK SC

Debruss company, the Russian partner of the worldrenowned British retailer Debenhams, announces that a new flagship three-level department store which occupies 8,400 sq m in Moscow AVIAPARK SC is to open in August, 2015. JLL international consultancy advised on this lease transaction.

Debenhams will be a three-level department store located in the AVIAPARK central area. The store will offer an impressive range of modern British designers (Ben de Lisi, Betty Jackson, Julien Macdonald, Jasper Conran, Jenny Packham, John Rocha, Janet Reger, Jeff Banks, Patrick Grant) as well as multiple commissioners.

RBCC Legal and Economic Update, sponsored by Baker & McKenzie, Bentley Hotel, 26 February 2015 We held a legal and economic update, part of a series we have been running with Baker & McKenzie. As is to be expected at the moment, the morning briefing focussed on sanctions, as had our previous event with the international legal firm in September 2014, but we heard a good deal about what Vladimir Efremov, a Senior Associate of Baker & McKenzie in Moscow, called ‘a proactive reaction to sanctions.’ Also speaking were Baker and McKenzie Partner Ross Denton (whose blogging on their website has been an excellent source of up-to-date information); Vadim Nikitin, Senior Associate at Stroz Friedberg, who was an engaging and positive speaker; and Alan Thompson, RBCC Russia Director. Trevor Barton moderated.

Russia’s attempts to adapt its economic dependencies and the recent trend of SME growth were analysed, and there was lively (occasionally heated) debate between the panel and the floor.

Moscow Breakfast Briefing: Outlook and Forecast of the Economic Situation in Russia, Hotel Metropol Moscow, RBCC Moscow started 2015 with our traditional economic forecast, though this took place in a business climate that can hardly be called “traditional”. The political-economic backdrop to the breakfast ranged from Russia’s credit rating being downgraded by rating agencies to “Junk”, and the threat of further sanctions from the European community, to the extreme volatility of the rouble exchange rate to the dollar or euro.

Bikas Joshi, Head of Representation of the IMF in Russia, gave us a macro-economic view, particularly mentioning the drop in internal consumption and other factors impacting the country’s economy and whether the positive change in export dynamic could help mitigate them. Economically-speaking, he explained, low consumption was apparently being caused by the growing gap between increasing supply and falling demand. This gap, clearly reflected in the real estate market, was explained further by Tom Mundy, National Director and Head of Research of JLL Russia & CIS. The key-note presentation was delivered by Mikhail Pryadilnikov, Deputy Head of the Analytical Centre for the Government of the Russian Federation, who shared some details of the state’s official anti-crisis plan which was soon to be openly published. This multi-faceted strategy to tackle the crisis includes a number of concrete measures to stabilize different areas of the economy and help businesses in various sectors to maintain their position during this turbulent period. Economic changes, however, have already had an effect on business in Russia and have significantly influenced how global companies perceive Russia’s economic market. A survey of CEOs was conducted to analyse the extent of such effects and its results were presented by David Gray, Managing Partner of PwC Russia. While it is still very difficult to make long-term forecasts, RBCC hopes that providing such a scope of perspective on the current environment will help our members manage their business through the months to come.

Private Screening of Mike Leigh’s “Mr Turner”, WDSSPR Cinema, 5 February 2015 In coordination with Walt Disney Studios Sony Pictures Releasing (WDSSPR), the RBCC organized a special screening of Mike Leigh's "Mr. Turner". The official premiere of the film in Russian did not take place in this country, so the RBCC took on the responsibility. The showing took place in a private WDSSPR cinema where the film, screened in the original English, attracted amateurs and connoisseurs of art and cinema. Guests chatted over light delicacies and cider provided by the catering team of Jean-Jacques restaurant. We are grateful to WDSSPR and Jean-Jacques for this opportunity and sincerely hope that we will be able to provide new premieres for RBCC members and their families in the future.

Cyber-Security Forum 2015, MIA Rossiya Segodnya Press Centre, 12 Feburary 2015 More than 500 guests attended RBCC’s Cyber Security Forum 2015 at the headquarters of Russia Today. The event, organized by ROCIT (Regional State Centre for Internet and Technology), and RAEK (The Russian Association for Electronic Communication) in partnership with the RBCC, was supported by the government departments Roskomnadzor and Minkomsvyazi.

Welcome speeches were given by Sergei Plugotarenko of RAEK and Alan Thompson, Russia Director at the RBCC. Other speakers included Leonid Levin (State Duma), Lyudmila Bokova (Council of the Federation), Antonina Priezhayeva (Roskomnadzor), Andrei Borovyev (RUCentre), Maxim Khromov (Sputnik) and Roman Kuznetsov (Minkokmsvyaz Rossii), who outlined the main themes, tendencies and forecasts of cybersecurity both in Russia and throughout the world.

Throughout the course of the discussions many guests spoke about the importance of dialogue between research departments and the government regulatory organs.

Alan Thompson opened his speech with a clear message: “Dialogue is the most important component of our work. It is amazing that we have the opportunity to establish dialogue not only within the boundaries of one country, but also on the international level. This Cyber Security Forum is now in its second year, and this year was harder for us than the previous one. Our challenge was to do everything on an even higher level than in 2014.”

The Russian State Duma deputy, Leonid Levin, laid out the 5 principles of internet provision, of which establishment is an absolute necessity – availability, freedom, safety, business and confidence. Leonid Leonidovich outlined the state’s plan for regulating the internet space, specifically highlighting the role of internet business as a means by which the opinions and wishes of the internet community can be expressed. Sergei Alexandrovich Plugotarenko explained that from a policy point of view, “we at RAEK know what the businesses feel – but it is crucial to understand what the users feel.”

9 sessions were held throughout the day, and both companies and the authorities discussed questions pertaining to protection of users’ personal data online, the necessary importance of creating a “positive usage ethic for the young user”, and a possible measure of the “internet literacy” of Russian children and teenagers. They also considered the techno-programming threats of cyber security, current questions on cyber security regulations, and the safety of the modern Russian internet’s infrastructure. In addition, representatives of Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Russia discussed international experience of using the web in a safe, positive way.

RBCC EVENTS RBCC Business Cocktail, Holiday Inn Moscow Lesnaya, 24 February 2015 As the winter months ended, the RBCC held its regular business cocktail to celebrate the beginning of a new business season.

The event took place at the Holiday Inn Moscow Lesnaya hotel, in the heart of the business district of Belaya Square. These events are known for a warm reception and a relaxed informal atmosphere and this time was no exception.

150 attendees were welcomed with speeches given by Alan Thompson; Maxim Brodovsky, Director of Holiday Inn Moscow Lesnaya and Holiday Inn Moscow Suschevsky Hotels; and General Director of Air Charter Service – the event’s sponsor – Azat Mulgimov. The lively and communicative tone was set with the help of the Lounge mixtape by DJ Causelove, and culinary delights prepared by the hotel’s catering team. The guests were offered a variety of drinks, including lovely wines from Eurowine, as well as “Vysshie Pitiya” – created from an eighteenth-century recipe. We had a business card raffle, in which several guests who had earlier complained of their bad luck in such lotteries, won various prizes, including premium whiskey and a £1,000 certificate from Air Charter Service.

and Trade, and Maxim Chereshnev of the Russian Trade and Economy Development Council outlined their view that for foreign companies, “import replacement is a great opportunity to continue cooperation with Russia despite the current barriers”. Alexander Ermoshin (SIORA) and Pavel Shabalov, (Moscow Government Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship) echoed this, stressing the importance of making information available in order to “re-evaluate [our] industrial potential as a hub of activity” and engaging local support to encourage foreign development.

“A few suggestions” for business development in Russia were offered by Filippo Baldisserotto, General Director at Stupino 1 Industrial Park, as he outlined the services Stupino can offer to business developers. Overall, as Ernest Arustamyan concisely put it, “we have to work out how we can help people” – and Alan Thompson confirmed this important cooperation in concluding: “when the dialogue is good, you can learn so much”. St Petersburg RBCC Breakfast Briefing ‘Hunting down business opportunities in Russia’, 3 February 2015 On 3 February RBCC St Petersburg held a Business Breakfast titled ‘Hunting down business opportunities in Russia. The event was held at AZIMUT Hotel, where guests could admire stunning panoramic views of St. Petersburg.

In 2015, the participants of “TRILOGY” were taking part in round table discussions on the most relevant and important topics with the leading specialists, determining the main ways of growth in transport-logistics field in Russia.

Among the main subjects of discussion were: unified strategy of transport development within the Baltic Sea region, Russian railways projects in the North-West region and improving the performance of border crossing points and customs. The transport corridors were also discussed: their main directions and competitive advantages.

Семинар РБТП юридический и экономический, 26 февраль 2015г.

РБТП 26 февраля в сотрудничестве с компанией Baker & McKenzie мы провели очередной семинар из серии мероприятий, посвященных юридическим и экономическим новостям. Не удивительно, что в сложившейся ситуации акцент пришелся на санкции, как и на предыдущем таком семинаре в сентябре 2014 года. В этот раз делегаты узнали о явлении, которое старший сотрудник Baker & McKenzie Владимир Ефремов назвал «активной реакцией на санкции». Также перед аудиторией выступили партнер Baker & McKenzie Росс Дентон (чей блог на сайте компании представляет собой прекрасный источник актуальной информации), Вадим Никитин, старший сотрудник компании Stroz Friedberg, и Алан Томпсон, директор РБТП по России. Модератором выступил Тревор Бартон. Выступающие проанализировали тенденции на замещение импорта в России и рост малого и среднего бизнеса, а также вступали в (иногда жаркие) дебаты с аудиторией. Мероприятие прошло в прекрасном помещении отеля Bentley Hotel в районе Кенсингтон. По окончании официальной части 45 делегатов семинара имели возможность пообщаться в неформальной обстановке. Москва Бизнес-брифинг «Обзор и прогноз экономической ситуации в России», отель Метрополь Москва, 27 января 2015г. РБТП открыла календарь своих мероприятий 2015 года традиционным завтраком с экономическим прогнозом 27 января. Хотя политическую и экономическую нестабильность в России в течение последних нескольких месяцев 2014 и 2015 года едва ли можно назвать "традиционной". Политико-экономический контекст завтрака составило значительное снижение кредитного рейтинга России рейтинговыми агентствами, а также постоянную угрозу дальнейших санкций со стороны Европейского сообщества и, в частности крайняя неустойчивость обменного курса рубля относительно доллара и евро. Бикас Джоши, глава представительства МВФ в России презентовал макро-обзор положения в стране, отдельно отметив падение внутреннего потребления и другие факторы, влияющие на экономику страны, а также объяснил, могут ли позитивные изменения в динамике экспорта помочь смягчить этот эффект. Экономическим показатели указали на то, что снижение внутреннего потребления вызвано увеличившейся разницей между сократившимся спросом и чрезмерным предложением. Этот разрыв, четко отражается на рынке недвижимости, что было проиллюстрировано Томом Манди, Национальный директор и руководителем аналитики JLL России и СНГ. Важное выступление сделал Михаил Прядильников, заместитель начальника Аналитического Центра Правительства Российской Федерации, поделившись некоторыми подробностями официального государственного антикризисного плана, который вскоре должен был быть опубликован. Эта многосторонняя стратегия преодоления кризиса включила в себя ряд конкретных мер по стабилизации различных областей экономики и поддержки предприятий в ряде секторов, чтобы помочь им преодолеть этот непростой период. Частный показ фильма Майка Ли «Мистер Тёрнер», Кинотеатр WDSSPR, 5 февраля 2015г. РБТП при поддержке Walt Disney Studios Sony Pictures Releasing (WDSSPR) организовала специальный показ фильма Майка Ли «Мистер Тернер». Официальной премьеры этого фильма на русском языке не состоялось, поэтому РБТП взяла на себя миссию знакомства публики с экранизированной биографией одного из величайших и самых эксцентричных художников Британии. Показ состоялся в закрытом кинотеатре WDSSPR. Перед началом показа гости вечера смогли обменяться не только ожиданиями от кинокартины, но и контактами за легкими деликатесами и сидром, предоставленными компанией Жан-Жак. Cyber Security Forum 2015, Пресс-центр МИА «Россия Сегодня», 12 февраль 2015г.

12 февраля 2015 года в МИА «Россия сегодня» прошёл международный Форум по кибербезопасности — Cyber Security Forum 2015, Russia, организованный РОЦИТ, РАЭК, Российско-Британской Торговой палатой, при поддержке Роскомнадзора и Минкомсвязи РФ. В течение дня мероприятие посетили более 500 участников. В роли ведущих первой пленарной секции выступили Сергей Плуготаренко (РАЭК) и Алан Томпсон (РБТП). Докладчиками секции стали Леонид Левин (Государственная Дума РФ), Людмила Бокова (Совет Федерации Федерального Собрания РФ), Антонина Приезжаева (Роскомнадзор), Андрей Воробьев (RUCENTER), Максим Хромов (Спутник), Роман Кузнецов (Минкомсвязь России), которые рассказали про основные акценты, тенденции и прогнозы относительно кибербезопасноти в России и в мире. В ходе секции много говорилось о важности диалога между отраслью и регулятивными органами власти.

Замечательно, что есть возможность установления диалога не только в пределах одной страны, но и на международном уровне. Cyber Security Forum проводится второй год, и этот год стал для нас сложнее предыдущего. Ведь перед нами стояла задача сделать все еще на более высоком уровне, чем в 2014 году». Представители государственных органов много рассказали о партнёрстве государства и интернет-сообщества в решении проблем кибербезопасности. Депутат Государственной Думы РФ, Леонид Левин выделил 5 принципов работы интернета, которые необходимо стремиться реализовать – доступность, свобода, безопасность, бизнес и доверие. Леонид Леонидович озвучил план государства относительно регулирования интернет-среды, особо отметив в этом вопросе роль бизнеса как среды, которая должна отражать мнение и желания общественности. Разделил точку зрения политика Сергей Плуготаренко, директор РАЭК. «Мы (РАЭК) чувствуем бизнес, необходимо понимать, что чувствуют пользователи», - сказал Сергей Александрович. За весь день проведения Cyber Security Forum 2015 были проведены 9 секций, на которых обсуждались сотрудничество отрасли и власти по вопросам защиты персональных данных пользователей в Сети, необходимость формирования «позитивной этики молодого юзера», индекс медиаграмотности российских детей и взрослых, програмно-технические угрозы кибербезопасности, актуальные вопросы регулирования в области кибербезопасности, безопасность корневой инфраструктуры Рунета в современной обстановке. Кроме того, представители Великобритании, а также Чехии, Болгарии и России обсудили международный опыт позитивного и безопасного онлайн-пространства.

Бизнес-коктейль РБТП, Холидей Инн Москва Лесная, 24 февраля 2015г. РБТП провела свой очередной бизнес-коктейль, чтобы отпраздновать начало нового бизнес-сезона. Мероприятие состоялось на 2-ом этаже отеля Холидей Инн Лесная, расположенном в самом сердце делового района на Белой площади. Теплый прием и приятная непринужденная атмосфера – это те вещи, которыми стали уже известны такие регулярные события, и этот раз не стал исключением. RBCC EVENTS Брифинг РБТП «Импортозамещение и локализация», InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya, 25 марта 2015г. Справедливо отметить, что в работе РБТП, диалог играет очень важную роль. Создаются связи, даются советы и люди приходят к соглашениям. Всё это благодаря «постоянному контакту и диалогу», как выразился Алан Томспон, Директор РБТП по России, в своем вступительном обращении на брифинге на тему «Импортозамещение и локализация», который состоялся 25 марта в отеле InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya. Это мероприятие послужило успешным примером пользы коммуникации – когда группа опытных специалистов по торговле и экономике, директоров и предпринимателей собирается, чтобы обменяться опытом и советами, было бы трудно не получить какую-то выгоду от такого диалога. Татьяна Львова (Информационно-аналитический центра по вопросам внешнеторговой деятельности) и Максим Черешнев (Российский совет по развитию внешней торговли и международных экономических отношений) – первые спикеры, выразили мнение, что для иностранных компаний, «импортозамещение – отличная возможность продолжать сотрудничество с Россией, вопреки препятствиям». Александр Ермошин (Российское агентство поддержки малого и среднего бизнеса) и Павел Шабалов (Департамента науки, промышленной политики и предпринимательства Правительства Москвы) подчеркнули также, что ещё очень важно предоставлять информацию, чтобы «переоценить [наш] потенциал промышленности как основное направление деятельности» и использовать локальную поддержку для привлечения и развития зарубежного бизнеса. «Некоторые предложения» для развития бизнеса в России дал Филиппо Балдиссеротто, Генеральный директор Индустриального парка «Ступино 1», рассказав немного об услугах, которые их парк предлагает развивающимся компаниям. В общем, как кратко акцентировал Ернест Арустамян, «мы должны понять, как мы можем помогать людям» - и Алан Томпсон еще раз подтвердил важность сотрудничества в заключении: «когда диалог есть, можно узнать много нового». 18 Марта РБТП провела весенний Бизнес-Коктейль в отеле AZIMUT. Мероприятие «Shaken, not stirred» проходило в атмосфере фильмов о Джеймсе Бонде в панорамном ресторане Sky Bar на 18 этаже. С приветственными словами к гостям обратились Алан Томпсон, директор РБТП по России, Алексей Акиндинов, генеральный директор AZIMUT отеля, Руслан Халимов, группа компаний STAFF-ALLIANCE, а также Сергей Даушкевич, генеральный директор ALEF. Неформальное общение проходило в непринужденной и дружеской атмосфере в Sky Bar с прекрасным панорамным видом на вечерний Петербург. ТРИЛОГИЯ конференция, 13 марта 2015г.

13 марта 2015 года в Санкт-Петербурге состоялась VIII ежегодная международная конференция “ТРИЛОГИЯ2 (Транспорт. Инвестиции. Логистика.) Конференция проходила при поддержке Министерства транспорта Российской Федерации и РБТП. В последние годы Балтийский регион демонстрирует высокую динамику социально-экономического развития и, несмотря на сложную политическую и экономическую обстановку, сохраняет прочные международные связи.

Среди гостей присутствовали директора и менеджеры крупнейших компаний Санкт-Петербурга, а также представители культурных Центров Санкт-Петербурга. Среди ключевых тем были: Единая стратегия транспортного развития стран Балтийского моря, Проекты Российских железных дорог в Северо-Западном регионе и Совершенствование работы пограничных пунктов пропуска и таможни. ASI Roadshow - London, March 2015

Russia's Agency of Strategic Initiatives brings delegation of regional governments to the UK In October 2014, the RBCC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), in which one of the key aims is to promote jointly the investment opportunities available in the regions of Russia.

The RBCC was therefore delighted to cooperate recently with the ASI, the Russian Embassy in London and the Russian Trade Delegation in organising and hosting for the first time a UK “Roadshow of Russian Regions”.

Governors and Vice-Governors from some of Russia’s most forward-thinking and economically prosperous regions were welcomed to London, with the principal aim of showcasing to UK audiences the diverse investment opportunities and business incentives available in these localities.

Development of the Russian Federation, the Russian Embassy, the Russian Trade Delegation, and the Royal Garden Hotel for enabling the Road Show to happen and for promoting it.

The RBCC intends to continue its focus on the Russian regions, along with other topics, at our Business Forum in London on 2nd & 3rd June, which remains the UK’s most significant bilateral event concerning trade and business between Russia and the UK.

Soon after their arrival in London, the visiting officials from the Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Tula and Leningrad Regions were cordially invited to the Russian Ambassador’s residence for a discussion panel chaired by Trevor Barton, the RBCC’s Executive Director. The event was well attended by an inquisitive audience, evidencing the strong interest in UK business circles in these go-ahead regions, and various UK sectors were represented, including industrials, manufacturing, SMEs and agriculture. A lively question and answer session was followed by a convivial drinks reception.

The following day, the stage was set for a series of more formal presentations, which saw the regional officials bid to attract the interest of potential investors in the large audience by highlighting the range of benefits to those who might choose to localise their business in one of these regional centres.

Chair for the day was Alan Thompson, RBCC Russia Director, who swiftly handed over for welcome remarks to a panel of distinguished guests: HE Alexander Yakovenko (Ambassador of the Russian Federation), Dr Boris Abramov (Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the UK), Roger Munnings CBE (Chairman of the Board of Directors, RBCC), and Andrey Nikitin (Director General of the ASI).

Each region then made a presentation, followed by question and answer sessions enabling audience members to engage with the regional governors on specific areas of available investment opportunities. All were impressed by the candid and engaging way in which the visitors from Russia made their presentations and answered questions. As with all RBCC events, the participants had plenty of time to meet and network during the coffee and lunch breaks. Furthermore, attendees were given the opportunity to take part in B2G meetings, allowing UK business representatives to speak on a one to one basis with the visitors.

ASI: визит делегации российских регионов в Великобританию, март 2015

АСИ организовалo поездку делегации правительства субьектов российской В октябре 2014 РБТП и Агентство Стратегических Инициатив (АСИ) подписали меморандум о сотрудничестве, основной целью которого стала совместная работа по продвижению инвестиционного потенциала регионов России. В рамках этого соглашения мы совместно с АСИ и Торговым Представительством РФ организовали впервые проходившую в Великобритании презентацию российских регионов. Губернаторы и вице-губернаторы некоторых из самых передовых и экономически развитых регионов приехали в Лондон, чтобы ознакомить британскую публику с имеющимися разнообразными инвестиционными возможностями и благоприятными условиями для ведения бизнеса в подопечных им территориях. По прибытию в Лондон официальные лица из Калуги, Нижнего Новгорода, Ростова, Тулы и Ленинградской области были приглашены в Резиденцию Посла РФ для участия в обсуждении, модератором которого выступил Тревор Бартон, Исполнительный директор РБТП. Многочисленная аудитория, состоявшая из представителей различных секторов британской экономики, включая производство, сельское хозяйство и малый и средний бизнес, свидетельствовала о неподдельном интересе местных деловых кругов к этим прогрессивным регионам. За оживленной сессией с вопросами и ответами последовал торжественный прием для всех присутствующих.

Палаты, у участников было много времени для неформального общения и налаживания контактов во время перерывов на кофе и обед. В дополнение к этому, гостям была предоставлена возможность провести встречи один на один с представителями делегации. Мы выражаем благодарность всем участникам этого мероприятия, особенно АСИ, Министерству Экономического Развития РФ, Посольству РФ, Торгпредству РФ и отелю Royal Garden Hotel за их вклад в популяризацию и организацию визита делегации российских регионов. РБТП планирует развить тему российских регионов, наряду с другими, в программе нашего Бизнес Форума, который пройдет 2 и 3 июня в Лондоне. Форум остается самым влиятельным мероприятием в Великобритании, посвященным двусторонним деловым связям между нашими странами.

На следующий день участникам делегации была предоставлена возможность провести официальные презентации о потенциале своих регионов и имеющихся стимулах для развития бизнеса с целью привлечения потенциальных инвесторов из специально подобранной аудитории. Ведущим мероприятия выступил Алан Томпсон, директор РБТП по России, который передал слово панели, состоявшей из высоких гостей: Александра Яковенко (Посла РФ), Бориса Абрамова (Торгового Представителя РФ в Великобритании), Роджера Маннингса (Председателя Совета директоров РБТП) и Андрея Никитина (Генерального директора АСИ). Затем были проведены индивидуальные презентации каждого региона, после которых члены аудитории могли задать вопросы губернаторам по интересующим их инвестиционным проектам.
