SCENERY ON PAPER AND CARDBOARD 2006 In 2006 I have made scenic paintings with several materials like pastel, oilpastel, ecoline, fineliner, East-indian ink, acrylic paint and oilbar. In a way they are imaginary landscapes (not painted on location). They are references to the feeling you get when you enjoy a view of the beach or a view over the meadows. The landscapes are drawn vertically, showing the horizon vertically on paper. All this to prevent me from painting churches and cows. It had to be abstract so the observer can make its own story from the scenery. I have given the sceneries a wooden frame which enhances the horizontal image of these paintings.
