Mosa Murals Blend

A meeting of colour tones, gradations of gloss and sizes in one ceramic wall. Blend tiles are developed and designed to be mutually combined to create a harmonious and vivid surface. This surface might be subdued or expressive, depending on the choice of grids and colour combinations. The palette of subtle colour tones, sizes and gloss gradations are brought together as mutually linked colour families. The large selection of elements invites and challenges the designer with a limitless range of design options and individual signatures.

Lines tiles embody elegance and subtle variation in clearly defined surfaces with profundity and refinement. Lines tiles use a play of light, shadow and movement to seduce. Create reliefs that create depth through asymmetric surfaces. The tiles cast intrigue using their clean, slanting lines. Interesting geometric structures harmonise with the grid to create a monochrome, yet vivid, ceramic surface.

Mosa Murals Change

Change* tiles represent ceramic expression in its purest form. A thick layer of glaze virtually drips from each tile. This emphasises the tile wall’s ceramic nature and creates a special appearance. Subtle lines and a randomly applied layer of glaze creates an extraordinary wall surface. By taking a simple uniformly sized pattern, and utilising the subtle lines and a randomly applied layer of glaze, you will be able to create an extraordinary wall surface. Change tiles in stonematt-gloss make a wall more striking, Change tiles in a matt-matt effect strengthens the colour effect.

Change* steht für keramische Ausdrucksfähigkeit in reinster Form. Eine breite Glasurfuge tropft quasi von der Fliese nach unten, hebt den keramischen Charakter der Fliesenwand hervor und erschafft ein besonderes Erscheinungsbild. Durch subtile Linienführung und die willkürlich angebrachte Glasurfuge entsteht eine besondere Wandoberfläche mit individuellem Charakter. Tones and colours

Each colour tone and colour was selected very carefully for each collection. The tones and colours in the Blend series have been grouped into colour families that allow for both subtle and more expressive combinations. For the Lines and Change series, the tones and colours were integrated into the tile design. All the tones and colours in the Blend, Lines, and Change series are based on the same palette. Mosa’s unique production and control process guarantees the consistency of the subtly balanced colour tones, meaning each series can be combined with the others.

Finishing and surfaces

The collections are characterised by a play of texture and structure that creates subtle nuances and explicit effects in the wall. For example by combining such things as stonematt and glossy tiles, or through creating a relief. Mosa has developed a new stonematt glaze, high tactility tile for the Blend, Lines, and Change series. The Lines series tactile glaze has been combined with a recessed surface to create a unique play of light and shadow. The Change series has a matt-gloss and matt-matt combination integrated into the glaze layer.

In den Kollektionen wird auf unterschiedliche Weise mit Texturen und Strukturen gespielt. Dadurch entstehen subtile Nuancen oder explizite Effekte an Wänden. Collection Blend Lines Change

The Blend collection was designed and developed to allow tiles to be mixed into a ceramic whole with its own identity and signature. The heart of the collection is formed by uni-tiles grouped into colour families, and into colour tones within each family. These colour tones were selected so they can be combined not only with each other, but also with tones from other colour families. There are three colour family groups. The first group consists of white and grey tone families in 15 x 15, 15 x 30 and 30 x 30 cm tiles, in stonematt and glossy (thickness 7 mm). The second group is like the first, but in the sizes 30 x 30 and 30 x 60 cm (thickness 10 mm). The third group consists of stonematt colour families, in the sizes 15 x 15 and 15 x 30 cm (thickness 7 mm). Mixing colour groups, sizes, and gloss gradations within the grids determines the Blend mural’s ultimate character.

Blend

Die Blend-Kollektion wurde mit dem Ziel entworfen und entwickelt, Fliesen miteinander zu kombinieren, um ein keramisches Gesamtbild mit einem eigenen Charakter und einer eigenen Note zu schaffen. Grundlage der Kollektion sind Uni-Fliesen, die nach Farbfamilien und innerhalb der Farbfamilien nach Farbtönen sortiert sind. Diese Farbtöne sind sorgfältig aufeinander abgestimmt, sodass sie gut miteinander, aber auch mit Farbtönen aus anderen Farbfamilien, kombiniert werden können. Die Farbfamilien sind in drei Gruppen aufgeteilt. Die erste Gruppe besteht aus einer Familie von Weiß- und Grautönen in den Formaten 15 x 15, 15 x 30 und 30 x 30 cm, steinmatt und glänzend (Stärke: 7 mm). Die zweite Gruppe ist mit der ersten Gruppe identisch, aber die Formate sind 30 x 30 und 30 x 60 cm (Stärke: 10 mm). Die dritte Gruppe besteht aus Farbfamilien in Steinmatt in den Formaten 15 x 15 und 15 x 30 cm (Stärke: 7 mm). Die Kombination der Farbgruppen, Formate und Glanzstufen innerhalb des Rasters bestimmt schließlich den Charakter des Blend-Murals.

De Blend collectie is ontworpen en ontwikkeld vanuit de visie om tegels met elkaar te mixen tot een keramisch totaalbeeld met een eigen karakter en signatuur. Rhythm or random

The Blend grid can be filled in two ways. Rhythm: a repeating colour pattern that creates a rhythm on the wall. Random: the colour grid is filled at random. This results in a more natural ceramic effect. The ceramic wall is filled at random based on tile percentages the designer has chosen. The Mosa Murals Generator includes a special tool with a randomise function to achieve this effect.

Bij Blend kan een bepaald grid op twee manieren worden ingevuld met tegels. Bij rhythm gebeurt dit met een kleurrapport dat zich herhaalt in de wand, zodat een ritme ontstaat. Blend is created from two size groups: large and small, and grids and patterns can be scaled to match. Patterns are available in tile sizes 15 x 15, 15 x 30 and/ or 30 x 30 cm (all tiles are 7 mm thick). If a larger scale is required, Mosa has tiles in 30 x 30 and 30 x 60 cm that are 10 mm thick.

Lighting directions Mosa observes strict standards regarding the flatness and straightness of its wall tiles. A 100% flat surface and smooth joints are also required for a good result. However, if side lighting is used for the light source then minor deviations may be unintentionally accentuated. The Lines series features a tile with a recessed, asymmetrical surface. The effect of light and shadow gives the wall additional depth, something that just one Lines tile can achieve on its own. The recessed surface is different on each tile, which allows staggered, geometrical structures - vivid yet ordered. Every variant of every item is packaged randomly. The twelve items come in seven different colours and three sizes: 15 x 15, 15 x 30 and 30 x 30 cm. The bright white tiles come in glazed, stonematt or gloss finishes. The Change* collection presents tactile tiled walls with a purely ceramic feel. Using just one Change tile is enough to create this feel. Each tile has been manufactured in a unique ‘controlled but random’ way, an artisinal fashion, as it were, with a thick layer of glaze on the base glaze. This means that each tile is subtly unique. Every variant of every item is packaged randomly. The subtle combination of stonematt and gloss gradations on just one Change tile gives each Change wall a unique identity. Strengthen the colour surface by combining two matt glazes on the Change tile. There are seven colour combinations in four sizes: 15 x 15, 15 x 30, 30 x 30 and 30 x 60 cm. The Change collection colours match the Blend series. Use the Mosa Murals Generator to create a design or select a pattern from the Mosa Murals Library or this book.

Spürbare Fliesenwände, die sich nach echter Keramik anfühlen. Bereits ein einziger Change*-Artikel schafft dieses Gefühl in einer Wand. Bei jeder Fliese wird in einem besonderen Verfahren, bedingt zufällig, wie bei echter Handarbeit, ein dicker Glasurstreifen auf die Basisglasur aufgetragen. Dadurch fallen die Fliesen unterschiedlich aus. Alle Varianten eines Artikels werden nach dem Zufallsprinzip kombiniert und verpackt. Die subtile Kombination von steinmatten und glänzenden Elementen in einer einzigen Change-Fliese macht Wände mit Change-Fliesen so lebendig und besonders. Mit einer Kombination aus zwei matten Glasuren in einer Change-Fliese wird die Farbfläche verstärkt. Es gibt sieben Farbkombinationen in vier Formaten: 15 x 15, 15 x 30, 30 x 30 und 30 x 60 cm. Die Farben der Change-Fliesen sind auf die Farben der Blend-Fliesen abgestimmt. Daher lassen Change-Wände sich perfekt mit Blend-Wänden kombinieren. Dafür stehen der Mosa Murals Generator sowie die Muster in der Mosa Murals Library oder in diesem Buch zur Verfügung.
