Sept 14th Sun Springfield, IL to Saint Louis, MO Day 2 Breakfast at the hotel or in Springfield. Funks Grove Maple Sirip.

Henry’s Rabbit Ranch, Country Classic Cars (several buildings full of classic cars for sale) Lunch at the World Famous Ariston Cafe.

Chain of Rocks Bridge (Optional late afternoon walk across the majestic old bridge). After Dinner in Saint Louis see the southern route of Route 66 and stop at Ted Brews for their world famous custard.


MISSOURI (LEG 2) Sept. 15th Mon Saint Louis to Saint Robert Cuba & Lebanon options Day 3 (Optional Ayden Rae Foundation 5-K Run / walk across the Chain of Rocks Bridge starts at 7am rare chance to drive across the Chain of Rocks Bridge. (Optional) Chain of Rocks Bridge breakfast at the Walfle House IL side. After breakfast (The drive across starts at 8:30am & a $10.00 Donation to the Illnois Route 66 Assoc. is required). (Optional tour of the Saint Louis Arch starts at 8:30 am). The main tour will take the Chippewa Route. (Optional Manchester Route available). Senic drive out St Louis and thorugh Pacific, St Clair and on to Devils Elbow.

Next is Halltown MO and Gary Turner’s Sinclair Station.

Then we will see Spencer, MO a great photo op.

KANSAS & OKLAHOMA (LEG 3) September 17th Wed Joplin to Tulsa Day 5 Those folks who stayed in Joplin, & Carthage can meet up at Granny Shaffer’s for a great breakfast.

Cyrus Avery Bronze Statue in Tulsa Businessman Cyrus Avery of Tulsa, OK, and John Woodruff of Springfield, MO deserve most of the credit for promoting the idea of linking the two seaports between Chicago, IL & Los Angeles, CA. They lobbied until their dreams merged with the national program of highway and road devlopment. The Mother Road was created by connecting together main streets or towns and old trails started by Indians, Military and animal trackers of the time. A new bronze statue has been to Memorialize his efforts in creating the Mother Road.

Donating 7% of 2013 & 2014’s Ad sales to the Ayden Rae Foundation (Starting July 1 2013). 2. Donating 7% of Book sales to the foundation. A. Between .56 Cents & .67 Cents per book sold wholesale.

3. Mother Road’s online Route 66 Super Store benefits the Ayden Rae Foundation by donating 50% of all profit from the Mother Road’s online Route 66 Super Store while hosted on the Ayden Rae Foundation’s website. 4. The Ayden Rae Foundation is in the process of creating a website that allows online ad sales where the customer can save 20%. Mother Road LLC & the Ayden Rae Foundation are currently updating the 2013 issue of “Keeping you on the Mother Road”. This 432 page annual publication of Route 66 has been designed to allow travelers of the Mother Road not only to find the old road but when they get to town they can find what they are looking for. The top 25 travel headings have been laid out in each area so the traveler can conveniently find the business & organizations they are looking for.
