My favorite element is water because water is life. I drink eight cups. I love water because it is beautiful. I love crashing, white waves. I remember the beach and pool in the Dominican Republic in Barahona. It makes me think of swimming, showering and drinking. I like to swim in the beach and the pool. I love crashing white waves on the beach. I like to dance in the Dominican Republic.

Water sometimes is dangerous because it causes hurricanes, tsunamis and more disasters. The world needs water for humans, plants and animals.

The planet has changed because of floods. Humans have not helped the planet by creating pollution which affects the environment.

Water for me is refreshing. It does not have color. It calms me down and can sometimes be destructive when the storm hits.

Water is crucial for our lives and our survival. We can cook, bathe, brush, and drink it. The beach, the oceans, and the rivers are magnificent for me and make me feel good, when it is calm. Water puts out the fire of the amazon when it rains. Water is refreshing in the summer.

It’s a little stressful because of climate change caused by global warming: contaminated air by human beings. No littering! Take care of plants! No smoke in the forest!

The earth produces healthy foods through water, if it does not rain we cannot grow them. We must take care of our environment, the oceans, the beaches and the rivers. May they always be clean and without contamination. Do not litter! Do not smoke! Use less carbon dioxide! Do not deforest!

One cannot live without water, that’s why water is life.

I am calm like water. l like to swim in the water which flows, pounds, and crests on to the beach. l can drink water, clean my house, take a great shower and cook. When I’m going to the beach l am feeling calm, relaxed and reflective. I’m so glad to God every day.

In the summer we went to Revere Beach, because we like to relax on the beach. We ate hot dogs and drank coconut water, and we enjoyed the sun. The water was transparent, liquid and precious. l felt positive, joyful and marvelous. In the morning I was very appreciative of the dew on the plants.

Water is precious to life. Water is an indispensable liquid for living beings because we need it every moment. lf it did not exist we would not have life in the world. The world would be sad and empty. I am so thankful for water. Water is life.

Water is not dry. I like swimming at the beach. When l was seven years old, in my country Ethiopia, I went to the beach. It makes me think of being seven years old and I almost drowned but somebody saved me.

sWimming Far in the BLue sea

I went to San Andres Island for the first time in 2014. This is a beautiful island between Panama and Colombia on the Pacific Ocean. I really like this island. I could live in this place, and I was trying to visit once each year, so with a lot of effort to keep my money I could come back in 2015, 2016, and 2020.

The first time that I went to the island, I woke up at dawn. I remember that I was taking a boat when I saw the night sky on the road to another smaller island in front. Meanwhile at sunrise I saw several blue colors in the sea, then I arrived at the new sand.

I felt very nervous the night before because I was in this place to do a sports race. This morning, I started with swimming in open water between both islands and it was my first time that I was swimming long distance in the open ocean. I saw wild, up-waves and while I was swimming I saw a few water animals. I couldn’t see the ground; it was too deep. I felt the change from the warm water to cool water.

I experienced a lot of sensations: excited, happy, beautiful sunrise and colors in the water, and later panicked when I thought the distance was extending. Several times I felt lost while I was swimming without seeing the coast and I tried not to stop. I felt alert to locate wild animals. I felt brave because I didn’t go back and regret it.

I floated to recover calm and felt fortunate when I was thinking that I was in this exceptional place. I felt I could flow while I kept going. I was trying to control the agitated breathing to go to relaxed breathing. I saw an unpredictable way before completing half the distance. Just when I was looking at buildings, it must have been when the waves were down, I found a point to refer to when I arrived.

I felt constancy with the technique to swim. Meanwhile I located the correct destination. The first time I focused on doing it and I didn’t give up. Then I continued to live this experience and my awesome and fantastic best time was in 2016. I won the race, I improved, I had the lowest time, and lovely sensations.

Water is the sourCe oF LiFe

My favorite element is water because this element is amazing. The water gives life to the planet. Water is a natural element that makes up not only the planet, earth constituting the hydrosphere but also the human body. Water is colorless because it has no color, water is tasteless because it has no flavor, and water is odorless because it has no smell.

I love the water because it can transform into liquid, solid, and gas. Everything in the world is moved by the water. The water has the power to create (food, plants and flowers), to clean ourselves, and to make beautiful landscapes.

I remember when I was young, I went to the beach every day with my family, it was great and I was happy. The color was blue and white. When I smelled salty pure, this gave me peace, a positive vibe. When I put my foot in the water: hot, sometimes cold, I felt the rooking of the water. It was pleasing, superb, and precious.

The water reminds me of my country surrounded by the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean: my house, my family, my friends, my childhood and it has outstanding quality memories, lovely and joyful moments, and I played in the surf. It makes me think of the power of God.

When I go to the beach it makes me happy because the water is healthy for my body. It is cold and clear. When l go to the waves, I am swimming. The water is life and is healthy. Water is medicine because the water has salt and is good for the body.

I am Chrismene M. I come from Haiti. I like the ocean because when I went to the beach I felt joyful and relaxed. I like swimming in the ocean. I like to go to the beach every summer with my family. We went to the beach by car to Kaliko Beach located in Haiti at Montrouis.

We ate “fritay’’ fried plantain, fried fish or fried meat and “pikliz.’’ We drank naturel juice, we ate some fruit and we drank coconut water. We played some “kompa’’ music in the background on the beach.

The water in the sea is very beautiful; the color is crystal and blue and calm. I am like sunshine in the ocean and warm in the sea.

BeautiFuL Water in the WorLd

I like the water because it’s important for different jobs. Everybody needs a lot of water for different utilities in the house. When my grandchildren see a lot of water they feel jubilant because a lot of people in the world don’t have water in their house.

In summer a lot of people go to the beach. They feel very excited. On Saturday I always need a lot of water in my house. I clean my clothes, kitchen and dishes. I always need to drink a lot of water when I finish my exercise in the gym.

I love water because the beaches in my country, Dominican Republic, are beautiful. I am happy when I am near the water because it is relaxing. I see blue and green when I look at the ocean. They are my favorite colors.

The beaches are both relaxing and peaceful except when there is a storm. When there is a storm there is water everywhere.

Water is good to drink and it feeds the banana trees and coco trees.

Water. We can drink it, wash clothes in it, and cook food, such as rice, chicken and fish.

In my homeland of Cape Verde, we water banana trees, cocoa plants, mango and apple trees, corn and other vegetables. We also use water to clean animals and ourselves. I feel so relaxed after I have a bath or a shower.

It rains almost every day for three to four months, from June to September, in Cape Verde. Rain quenches the thirst of the earth and everything in it. When there is not enough rain, we take water from the ocean, we purify it, and drink it and use it to water our trees and plants.

There are many important things we would not have without water, like beautiful flowers and vegetables, such as celery, cabbage, and carrots. Water creates life and we would not be alive without it. It impacts every aspect of our lives from what we eat to where we live. I am grateful for water.

Water is life for everyone. It’s transparent, no color, no smell, no taste. But it is very important in daily life. We can use water to take a shower, cook.

Last year, I went to Vietnam with my daughter to visit my family.

We had a vacation together. We went to Vung Tau Beach, Phan Thiet Beach and the Amazing Bay Playground. The beach is big and refreshing because we can go swimming, shovel sand, slide and swing.

Every day we need to drink one and a half to two liters of water to get energy for work all day because water makes up seventy to eighty percent of body weight.

We should protect clean water with solutions to protect clean water sources. Keep clean water. Don't throw trash on the ground. Minimize use of chemicals. Save clean water. Turn off water when you brush your teeth. Check and maintain

pipes and water storage. Then, clean water will be helpful in the future for good, healthy, clean air, and a green environment.

I am lighting candles. The light burns in our world. I light candles in church on Sunday. I pray for my family to God. I pray for my teachers. I pray for health. I pray for the world.

When I was 5 years old my father’s house was on fire in Cayas, Haiti. That house burned and everything was lost. I’m sad because my mother didn’t have any money to buy another house. We lost clothes, our bed and books. I went to my grandmother’s house and I was happy because we had a lot of trees and plants. I liked the goats, dogs, cows, horses, chickens and pigs on the farm.

Last year on November thirteenth, we had two houses in the neighborhood burn at the same time in Mattapan. The first one, no people were living there. The next one, people came out. Nobody died.

Candles mean sadness to me. It was a sad moment. I lit the candles in my country Haiti after the earthquake, January twelfth, two thousand and ten, when many people died. I remember the government asked everyone to light candles. I remember I lit the candles in memory of people who died. It was an unforgettable moment for me and my parents and for our dear Haiti. My friend Catie died. She was fourteen. I am angry like fire flaming as it eats the forests, flaming, glowing, and smoking.

I love the earth because I can plant vegetables and different fruits and flowers. ln March, l can plant different flowers like roses, tulips, and orchids. In June I can plant vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, corn, cucumber, eggplant, green pepper, and celery.

I like water because I get thirsty when I eat and cook food. I like water because I take a shower with water and I drink water because it’s good for my body. It’s also at the beach and I love the beach. There are rocks and animals at the beach. I swim in the water at the beach. I like water because water is something everyone needs. We use water if we need energy. For example, most people drink when they workout.

I like to grow eggplants, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, flowers, and beans in the garden. I feel scared of fire sometimes because it is dangerous. I will see fire when I’m making food or using it for heating. The color of fire is yellow and red but it can be orange or purple.

What is earth?

Earth is the name given to our planet. It is sometimes called the world or the globe. The word earth can also refer to land, or ground, or soil, as a material. For example, we plant flowers on the earth. We get our food from the earth such as fish, vegetables, meat from animals, yams, fruits, rice, beans, potatoes, and many other foods.

In spring, in my country of origin, Nigeria, I plant many flowers, such as roses and orchids. I plant them in plots of land in the compound where I live. There are mountains and flat lands in Nigeria. We build our houses on the flat areas of the earth in my country.

The earth is like a loving mother who feeds us. In Nigeria, there is a vegetable that comes out of the earth by itself. We don’t have to plant it. This vegetable comes out after we clear the land. We burn the trees and grass, and smoke goes into the sky. This vegetable is called water leaves, because it comes out when the rain falls. We use the water leaves to make soup and we put them

in stews. When rain falls, we also plant other things, such as pumpkin seeds. We cook both the pumpkin seeds and the pumpkin. Pumpkin seeds are very sweet. We have red and green vegetables. We plant coconut, banana and potato. When snow falls, it falls on the earth. We also have gas in the earth.

The earth is a very special place, especially in a country as beautiful and plentiful as Nigeria.

FertiLe Land

Our Earth is the perfect place to live because it is a unique planet where we can enjoy life. We are from this planet, we were born here, and we grow and reproduce here. Our planet has problems with climate change because we have more pollution, contamination, deforestation than before, but our planet is never going to disappear.

Our planet doesn’t stop its transition. It’s truly resistant and fertility continues to produce luxuriant trees, animals and different species who live in the forest and in many different places. I know that some of those animals are in danger of going extinct. But we can help because there is so much more we can do together for our planet. The global climate problem, I think, is a problem for our comfortable and modern life.

FarmLand

The world has nature and farmland. The farmer plants in the ground so naturally the ground will give again: the food, the trees. When someone plants seeds in the ground the ground returns with benefits.

We like different fruits and vegetables such as: oranges, grapefruit, tomatoes, potatoes, and avocados. They help people to grow and the animals too. In the world that exists there are many kinds of plants, but you can choose the best product. I think farmland is the best for the environment. The farmland is very magical, because they put seed on the ground and they come up!

The climate changes the variation of plants and for the people. I like the work of the farmer. The farmers have many fresh ideas for the evolution of the plants.

Land

I like the land a lot. l find it very interesting to go to the forests because nature surprises us with its beauty. The trees change color with the cycle of the season. I love the green and the red wine color of the leaves, the plants, the daisies and orchids of the color purple.

The land is rich in nature and in plant species as well as flowers and trees. There are healing plants: the dandelion, corn hair, black Ocote, elote, horsetail, and a variety of healing plants. Corn hair contains phenolic compounds known as tannins in its structure, which in addition to helping to expel kidney stones, are antioxidants and diuretics. Black Ocote is another medicinal plant. It is mainly used for high or low blood pressure; between ten or fifteen leaves are boiling in five liters of water. This tea is drunk until the pressure is balanced. These are medical plants.

Used to relieve stress in meditation or relaxation exercises, the Palo Santo calms anxiety and stress, and helps us meditate. It grows in South America, in Guatemala, Peru, Ecuador, and Honduras.

I like vegetables. I like the garden to grow mango, banana and cardamom. I love my job. I like gardening because you can plant beautiful flowers, and different flowers. You can plant fruit such as oranges. The advantages of the flowers, they help clean the air, and it gives us good oxygen. The trees too, and the fruit trees feed us with good fruit. I love the land because it produces a lot of vegetables, which are very good for my health. I like to talk about vegetables, because vegetables cured my anemia. I became anemic when I was 28 years old, because I didn’t like eating vegetables. When I started eating vegetables I didn’t feel dizzy anymore.

When I was anemic, my head used to spin every day for many hours, for more than four years. I felt depressed. Then I found a Haitian recipe that showed me how to make a mixture of carrots, beets and watercress, like a smoothie. This reminds me of a soup we call spaghetti juice in my country of Haiti.

To make spaghetti juice, we boil carrots and potatoes. Then we mash this mixture with milk in a blender, and we drink it. Spaghetti juice gives us strength. I add lemon to my own green version of spaghetti juice because it gives a bit of a sour taste. My green spaghetti juice with carrots, beets, watercress and lemon cured my anemia. When

I drink carrot juice every morning I can stay up later. I thank the Earth for giving me these vegetables and healing me of anemia.

And down on the Earth, things are very nice when I look at them. Earth is the only planet that can sustain life for every living creature on earth. Its climate is wonderful, and different in other parts of the world. The car factory continues with the electric cars, the community can recycle. We can also use bicycle pedals or electricity. We can plant more trees around, more solar panels for clean energy and windmills. Use the car less days in the week and more buses, trains to travel to jobs. Check the ingredients of gasoline to try to control contamination.

Preserve the forests! Try to stop contamination like plastic that people litter in the ocean. Don’t set fires in the yard! Do not smoke in close areas or close to other people. Maintain your car and electronics in good condition. Reuse water, used to clean dishes, for the plants or in the garden.

Air quality is important to have a healthy life, since pollutants emitted in it produce among other things respiratory illnesses that range from mild to serious like flu, asthma and cancer. These are too bad for a person and sad for the family.

There are different activities in the community that the people can engage in to protect the environment. The manufacturers try to change products such as cleaning supplies and cosmetics for them to contaminate the planet less. Our commitment is to manufacture a product that is eco-friendly to help the world with the contamination.

All the leaders of the government in coordination with social institutions, private corporations, community and The Department of Education, must all do our bit to save the environment. We can create programs to teach the community through posters, banner design, T.V. programs and radio.

The composition of gasses in the atmosphere can change and is changing now as we burn fossil fuel, and the fossil record reveals how something as air can influence the history of life.

The surplus of oxygen allowed amphibians, which take in some of the gas through their skins, to breathe more efficiently and grow to larger sizes. Arthropods breathe in a different way; they possess a network of branching tubes called tracheae that connect small openings in an invertebrate’s exoskeleton to cells, and oxygen seeps through this branching network and opens up.

In an oxygen rich atmosphere more oxygen could be diffused through this branching network, and this opened up an evolutionary pathway. Oxygen is very necessary for the human because without this, he dies.

Finally, air is important for living things. Breathing is part of a process called respiration. During respiration, a living thing takes in oxygen from the air and gives out carbon dioxide. This process gives animals and plants the energy to eat, grow, and live life!

There are two types of air: pollution and natural air. I will define air pollution. Air pollution is a big problem. It makes the environment dirty. Vehicles and industrial air are the main reasons for air pollution. It causes many diseases like lung cancer and asthma.

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the bronchi which manifests itself in seizures and shortness of breath. Asthma can be a fatal disease; you have to take a lot of precautions with this disease. Especially for asthma attacks, it is the most dangerous.

Air is very important for the body because it is the air that allows us to breathe and inspires us. We find air in factories, swamps, chimneys, smoke, pollution, forests and in the trees.

Asthma is a condition in which a person’s airway becomes inflamed, narrow, swollen and produces extra mucus which makes it difficult to

breathe. Air pollution affects our health. Asthma must be prevented but is caused by problems in the environment.
