We are proud to announce, Andrew LeFever as our new Executive Chef at Rosemont Country Club starting Tuesday, November 1st. Andrew has been in or around the Country Club business for most of his life and brings 16 years of Culinary and Hospitality experience to you and your Club. At a very young age, Andrew was introduced to the kitchen and fell in love with the endless possibilities he could create with his food. His mother remembers getting him off the bus in kindergarten and watching Andrew make himself a plate of corned beef (with yellow mustard) and a bowl of applesauce (with sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top) and watching Julia Childs for hours. Andrew began his Culinary career at Fontano's Restaurant at the age of 14 doing prep work and washing dishes. A chef noticed his passion and attention to detail when it came to food and began working with him on the basics. Andrew then took his skills to both at a small deli in Fairlawn and at his family’s restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls. Over the next few years, under the watchful eye of his mentor Chef Patrick Kunkle, he honed his baking, cooking and meat cutting skills along with a palette for good simple food. In 2004 at LeFever’s River Grille he worked his way up to Executive Chef through hard work, perseverance, creativity and passion for the food. In 2008 he helped open a 30 seat bar and bistro in Aurora, Ohio where he was a one man kitchen and made all his menu items from scratch which won the interests of many regular customers. Andrew now comes to Rosemont Country Club from Rustic Hills Country Club where he revamped their menus and created a more pleasurable dining experience for all members and their guests. Andrew brings with him a passion for fresh, made from scratch food along with a willingness to continue to learn and try the latest trends. He also will be introducing a new menu with each season that will consist of new creations along with incorporating many local products from Ohio. He is open to your suggestions and wants you all to be part of menu items and daily specials. Please join us in welcoming Andrew LeFever!

PLEASE WELCOME OUR NEW MEMBERS: MR.& MRS. JEFF LITZ

After a lengthy and exhaustive search that produced many terrific candidates, we have made a decision and have decided on hiring Brad Hicklin as our next PGA Golf Professional at Rosemont Country Club. Many of you may already be familiar with Brad, as he has been the Assistant PGA Golf Professional at Portage Country Club under Master Golf Professional Rod Johnston for the past 11 years. Brad has been a PGA Class A Golf Professional for the last 6 years, and ultimately, it was his extreme dedication to the Membership and attention to detail that set him apart from his peers. There are only roughly 200 Master Golf Professionals in the United States, and the fact Brad has been able to train and work under Mr. Johnston for the last 11 years, I can tell you, he is qualified in every area of the golf shop operations, and brings a wealth of knowledge on the teaching and club fitting arena as well. Brad will be bringing with him experience in all facets of the Golf Shop operation, from managing a staff of 30 golf shop employees, coordination of tournament operations for over 27 club events including the 3 day member/ guest invitational, coordination of a season long Junior Golf Program consisting of over 90 junior golfers of all ages, club fitting, teaching, and merchandising, amongst the other many day to day duties of the Golf Professional. Brad is a graduate of Kent St. University, a member of the PGA of America, is married, and just recently became a proud father. Brad's official start date will be March 1st of 2012, although it is most assured you will be seeing him popping in and out over the next several months. Also, we are planning a meet and greet sometime in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for that. Please give Brad a big warm welcome to the Rosemont Family when you see him, as we are very excited to have him join our team!
