Newsletter no: 3 – October 2015, Denmark

XPLICIT Newsletter – September/October 2015 Finally it was our turn to be the hosts of the second meeting between students in the XPLICITproject. The days from September 27th to October the 2nd the young people from Rauma, Moelndal and London worked together with our student from Kjellerup. We had 18 students visiting us. The preparations for the Danish mobility started already in spring where we made plans for the content of the mobility. The work in Denmark should involve Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Crafts. It was our intention to work with something that is special for our area. We made a contact to Museum Jorn in Silkeborg. The museum is founded on the works of the famous Danish artist Asger Jorn, who lived a greater part of his life in Silkeborg. He was one of the initiaters of the Cobra-art group. Together with the art museum we created a project where we should work with Innovation, Entrepreneurship and so on so forth. The idea was that the students should help the museum to develop an idea that could attract more young people to visit the museum. It was an interesting topic and the students worked really well with the project. We had an excellent cooperation with the museum.

The museum also took part in the final evaluation of the project.

Hands-on work for the students

The presentation of the project

Accommodation We had more students visiting us than we have students involved in the project. Therefore we had to ask more families to be hosts. It turned out not to be a problem. And we actually now have more students involved in the project than we had before the week in Denmark. The 2 Danish teachers involved in the project Ms. Birgitte Rugholm and Ms. Line Andersen had done a brilliant job in planning the week. We all look forward to continue the work with the project. Next meeting will be in Moelndal late April.

Our Students have also made a Newsletter.
