Annual Report 2014-15

ANNUALREPORT Peter M. Branch, Head of School

As we entered into school year 2014-15, we were excited to celebrate the School’s 80th year. We launched the I  RHS campaign, asking students, parents, alumni, faculty, and friends to show their love for the School. You shared testimonials and messages, gave generously, supported the Fall Classic and Above & Beyond Gala, and donated hundreds of volunteer hours to ensure the School’s success. Together we dedicated the Land of Fires Nature Trail; saw our salt marsh restored by Save The Bay; entered into a global educational partnership with the National Institute of Technology in Beijing; and cheered on our many successful student athletes, artists, and performers. We also lost a dear faculty member in Terry Coes and we came together to celebrate his life and pay tribute to his lifelong commitment to his students and teaching. I am extremely proud of our community and the legacy of Rocky Hill School. This Annual Report of Giving paints a picture of how deeply invested we all are in the life and success of this Rhode Island institution. Rocky Hill School has a vibrant and close-knit community. We are nimble and quick to respond to our students’ needs. As we look to the next 80 years, we must continue to embrace and live up to our identity as a Small School with Big Opportunities. While our size at times can limit us, by and large it is what makes us special. Our families, student, faculty, and alumni have so many opportunities to engage in the life of the School. It will be this personal investment and collective goodwill that propels Rocky Hill School into the future. So I ask to continue to share your love for the School, answer the call to action as a donor, volunteer, or fan, and never forget why you RHS! Thank You! 2014-2015 FUNDED PROJECTS • Upper School Science Equipment • Field Trips • Tuition Assistance Programs • Scheduling Software • Terrapin Turtle Study with URI • Garden Classroom • Kubota Utility Vehicle with Plow and Spreader • Lower School LEGO ® Robotics • School-wide Campus Alert System • Boiler in Campbell Center • Safety Doors Around Campus • Upper School Bulletin Boards • Tennis Court Repairs • Middle & Lower School World Cultures Week • Middle School iPad Program • Theater Cyclorama • Preschool Playground (spring 2016 installation) • Physical Education & Trainer Equipment • Pug Mill • Faculty/Staff Professional Development • Magnus Health System Software • Lacrosse Nets • Technology Support • Upper School Soccer and Lacrosse Uniforms
