(Ages 6-12) Beginning level Reading, Speaking and Writing, designed for U.S. students, learning Chinese as a 2nd language. Covered topics: Greetings and family member, Personal introduction, numbers, dates, countries and languages and occupations. Purchase text at the RVC Bookstore.

MARTIAL ARTS & SELF-DEFENSE HA’S TAE KWON DO, KUM DO, AND YANG SENG studio helps students gain wisdom and health through individualized martial arts classes. Master Ha is highly recognized for his continued contributions in the martial arts and carries a strong set of credentials. Ha is Founder, T.K.D. Children Personality Development Association, U.S. National Collegiate Taekwondo Team Head Coach(2009), and Commissioner of USA Taekwondo Martial Arts Commission. He was a professor in the Korea Third Military Academy as well as an Education Training Officer in the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps and Director of the World Taekwondo Research Society. He has been recently awarded with the U.S.A Presidential Physical Fitness Award for his outstanding contribution to and achievement in the world of USA Tae kwon do (2009).

(All ages welcome) This bare handed military art form and sport uses the hands and feet for attack and defense. Train the body and develop the mind. Foster growth through skill building and etiquette lessons that build courage, confidence, and self esteem. Great exercise for children and a good way for adults to increase physical endurance. (Ages 10 and Up) Kum Do (The Way of the Sword) is an authentic Korean sword technique. This course places an emphasis on self discipline, strength, and flexibility. Kum Do is a sword art that is almost 2000 years old and was used by the ancient Korean armies. You will learn the honorable way of ancient Korean warriors. The beginning student will be taught techniques and styles in specific stages as he/she progresses through the various ranks of colored belts. Students who repeat the class will be taught new and different techniques each semester. Purchase uniform, $50 and wood sword, $45 at first class.
