MECHANICAL DESIGN: OVERHAUL

MATERIALS USED     

3 sets of wheels with a standard Conveyor belt 100 rpm high torque DC motors (for wheels) Standard Wooden Chassis Low RPM DC motor for the rope of the pulley A metal hook

CHASSIS DESIGN: The material used for the chassis is a two layered wood. The first layer is the basic body of the bot, which gives the support to its wheels and motors. The second layer helps in the movement of the hook.

Traversing Lifting Storing

Traversing Mechanism Components Used:  3 sets of wheels  Conveyor Belt covering all the 3 wheels on each side.  6 DC motors of 100RPM.

Mechanism:

Each of the wheels is supported by a high torque, 100RPM DC motor, thereby providing a high torque to the bot in uneven terrains. The motors of the right side are shorted and connected to the right side. Similar arrangement is made on the left side. The bot moves left or right on the principle of differential drive. The conveyors help in the movement in uneven and hostile terrains. LIFTING MECHANISM 

WORKING MECHANISM

Two motor s (high torque).have been used for the hook mechanism. Motor 1 has been used along with pulley, for the up down motion of the hook. This will help the robot to lift the victims from the crevasses. Motor 2 has been placed on a wooden platform on the chassis attached to the hook rod. Here, the motor 2 is responsible for the forward and backward movement of the hook rod.

Storing Mechanism Components Used: ďƒ˜ 1 superficial victim tank attached in front of the chassis. Mechanism: After the victim is rescued from the accident site, he is kept safely in the victim tank with the help of the hook. The victim tank is inclined downwards (away from the body of the chassis). The outside wall of the victim tank can be opened using the hook (shown in the figure below). On reaching the safe zone, the outside wall of the victim tank is opened, and the victim is safely dropped to the ground. Thus, the bot has successfully brought and placed the victims to a safe zone. Hence, the bot has its MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
