Athletics enhances the intellectual, social and personal development of our student-athletes, helping them to grow through their experience at the University and to prepare for meaningful careers and lives. Toward this purpose, the Department of Athletics promotes academic achievement, good sporting and ethical conduct and equitable opportunity for students and staff, including women and minorities. The guiding principle of the University is to focus on academics first; therefore we view our successes based not on wins and losses but as linked to the educational mission of the University and the welfare of our student-athletes.

There is a buzz surrounding Robert Morris Hockey these days. Visit 84 Lumber Arena at the RMU Island Sports Center on any game night, and you’ll sense it! The Colonial women’s and men’s programs have arrived, and any team that comes to Pittsburgh is on notice that it better bring its A-Game when taking on the Colonials in their house. This full throttle effort is what Robert Morris gives everytime the puck is dropped, and you can see both teams up close by getting your tickets now. There are a ton of new promotional giveaways this season not to mention our traditional “Skate with the Colonials” once each semester whereby you can go on the ice and skate with your favorite Colonial players for free if you bring your own skates, $2.50 to rent from the Island Sports Center front desk. College hockey takes centerstage in Pittsburgh thanks to Robert Morris University. Get your tickets now!

Special Events After drawing over 23,000 fans to CONSOL Energy Center last year, the Second Annual Three Rivers Classic returns to Pittsburgh on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 27 and 28 with an amazing field that features not only Robert Morris and Penn State, but also Bowling Green along with five-time national champion Boston College! And don’t miss the women’s Eighth Annual “Skate for the Cure” games Feb. 7-8 when Syracuse visits 84 Lumber Arena. All proceeds help benefit breast cancer research. RMU is proud to say that it has raised thousands of dollars through the years as part of this College Hockey America initiative. Finally, the Second Annual Men’s Cancer Awareness Weekend is Nov. 22-23.
