How did your internship help you get a Graduate Training Programme at Deutsche Bank? My internship exit interview was effectively my only interview for the graduate programme. They say an internship is a 9/10-week interview process, so that also contributed to me getting the offer. What were your Highlights of the Internship? The group presentation - we had to work together on a presentation about Vendors and presented it to some senior people at the Bank. We were able to give suggestions on how to improve vendor management, and although they didn’t necessarily agree with everything we said, some ideas have been taken on. Lunch’n’Learn sessions – These sessions taught us more about projects and departments in the Bank, with an added Q&A session and some free lunch. Extra cash - As it’s a paid internship, it was also nice to have a bit of extra cash – being a student can be hard sometimes! What did you learn from your internship? In the end, I learnt a lot about Deutsche Bank and my division, so that when I came back to start full-time I knew exactly what I was getting into, and the role that my team plays in helping Deutsche Bank be a world class firm. Do you have any top tip for students interested in an internship at Deutsche Bank? Speak to as many reps at campus events as possible – speaking to them is like speaking to Deutsche Bank.
