On June 15th, 2017, we welcomed our feisty little Kieren into the world. Kieren was born by emergency C-section at 35 weeks after placenta abruption and uterine rupture. It was a very scary time for our family as Kieren had a lot of health issues that stemmed from his rather scary entrance. He was in the NICU a total of 50 days.

Fast forward a little over three years and our tiny baby is now a blossoming toddler. He is so full of life and keeps us on our toes! He loves adventure and does not let many things hold him back from what he wants. Most of his little body healed after his birth, but he still has some health conditions we have to monitor. You’d never know by looking at him though! When I think back on that time, I am still so grateful for the Ronald McDonald House. It gave us a place to rest our head and a warm meal at the end of very emotional and exhausting days. It also gave our other son a break from a hospital room. It would have been too far away from our baby to have made the commute from our house to the hospital every day, and financially we would not have been able to stay in a hotel that many days. It took a huge weight off our shoulders. God bless the Ronald McDonald House and staff for all they’ve done for our family in a time we needed it the most!
