Franks Family HOME: Rolla, MO (Phelps County)

In February of 2016, my water broke

at 30 weeks pregnant. The closest hospital that could accommodate my baby’s and my own needs was Mercy Springfield, two hours away from home. After four weeks of hospital bed rest, they induced labor and Harlow was born six weeks early. She was in the NICU for 23 days total, learning to eat and breathe on her own. During that time the Ronald McDonald House was my “home-away-from-home”. The Ronald McDonald House was there for my parents when I was born with pneumonia, and 22 years later, they were there for my family through my baby’s NICU stay. They provided home-cooked meals, a private room, and most importantly the gift of being close to my baby until I could take her home. We are so grateful to the staff and volunteers for making our stay as comfortable as it could be during such a difficult time in our life. Harlow is close to her 6th birthday and a lot has changed since her hospital stay! She is extremely vivacious and loves to dance, sing, and do art.
