Throughout February and March
of 2019, our daughter Auddie was admitted to the Mercy Kids Pediatric Unit for E. Coli Meningitis. Being told we could lose our daughter was, and always will, be the scariest thing we have ever endured. We live two hours away from Mercy, so staying together as a family was going to be a struggle. Then our nurse informed us about the Ronald McDonald House and how we could stay close and be together during this hard time. The staff at the Ronald McDonald House was extremely generous and helpful. We were given a bed to sleep in, a shower, toiletries, washer and dryer access, food to eat and more. After staying in a hospital setting for such a long period of time; a shower, hot meal, and an actual bed to sleep in makes a world of difference. Thank you, Ronald McDonald House, for keeping our family together when we needed it most and giving us a “homeaway-from-home. “
