Every family and child that comes to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks has a story, and no two stories are the same. To families, the Ronald McDonald House® provides a refuge. These are families whose seriously ill or injured children are facing trials no child should have to face. To children, the Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile® (fondly known as the Tooth Truck™)

Your generosity allows our families and children to continue entering the threshold of the Ronald McDonald Houses, or step up to the Tooth Truck and feel relieved, sheltered, and cared for.

We all follow a different path in life, but together we can keep the Ronald McDonald Houses open for families who need to be close to their seriously ill or injured children and the Tooth Truck on the road for children to be a short walk away from cavity-free smiles. Every year, Ronald McDonald House Charities helps children and their families right here in the Ozarks.

ADOPT A FAMILY

Tonight, you have the opportunity to support the children and families who directly benefit from the Tooth Truck and our Ronald McDonald Houses. Here’s what your support can mean to our families:

$2,500 will underwrite 20 days at the Ronald McDonald House for a family, the average length of time our families with babies in the NICU stay at the Houses.

$1,000 ensures for an entire year that all families of hospitalized children learn about the Ronald McDonald Houses with a personal visit through our Happy Wheels Program, also delivering necessity items and fun activities.

$500 underwrites the Tooth Truck’s average cost for 4 dental appointments, providing kids with bright, shiny smiles and increased self-esteem.

$250 covers a month’s worth of expenses for our Family Fund, giving help to families with urgent needs such as gas, prescriptions and clothing.

$100 provides Tooth Truck supply bags including a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, brushing timer, and instructional cling/card for nearly 60 patients.

$50 helps contribute gifts and supplies for families who will be away from their own homes and staying at our Ronald McDonald Houses during the upcoming holiday season.

JAKE SIMPSON

Long before his prize-winning Pop performances on Star Search and his now infamous R&B duets on The Oprah Winfrey Show; or sharing the stage with artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Adam Lambert and Stevie Wonder; singer JAKE SIMPSON was best known across the Midwest as an upand-coming Crooner, paying for college and cutting his teeth singing his favorite classic songs in cozy Jazz Clubs across the Heartland. Growing up in Crocker, Missouri, making music has been one of the most important driving forces in Jake’s life. His sound has been influenced by Stevie Wonder, Steve Perry, Donny Hathaway and the classic style of Sam Cooke.

Jake Simpson has honored Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks by captivating the audiences of the Red Shoe Gala since its inception with his high-tenor voice, inspiring enthusiasm and passion for helping families and children in our community.

He is joined on stage tonight by lifelong friends and fellow entertainers Cory Fancher, Mike Lower and Penny Lower; and we are honored to welcome them as your headline entertainment for the 8th Annual Red Shoe Gala!

DINNER ENTERTAINMENT:

KYLE AHO & RANDY HAMM

As a jazz duo, Kyle Aho and Randy Hamm bring music to life through teaching and entertaining.

Kyle Aho is a jazz pianist, composer, and educator who has performed with many notable artists, including George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Brookmeyer, Geri Brown, and others. Some performance highlights include NYC’s Blue Note and Jazz Standard, The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., The Green Mill in Chicago, The Blue Room in Kansas City, and concerts in Japan and Taiwan. He currently teaches at Missouri State University in the jazz studies and dance programs.

Randy Hamm, Director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Saxophone, joined the faculty of Missouri State University in 1989. While studying at the University of North Texas, Mr. Hamm was a member of the internationally acclaimed One O’clock Lab Band. He maintains an active performance schedule and his work as a composer, arranger, and featured soloist can be heard on the Arabesque, Seabreeze, and Origin/OA2 record labels. Hamm has released two solo albums on the Encore Music Presents (EMP) record label, “Yellow Cadenza” and “Abstract Thought.”
