HUDSON HAPPENINGS Sixteen New Officers Sworn Into the Bayonne Police Department On December 20, the Bayonne Police Department held a swearing-in ceremony for sixteen new officers. The event took place in the City Council Chambers. The Bayonne Police Honor Guard and the Bayonne Police Pipes and Drums led the entrance procession. The Pipes and Drums played The Minstrel Boy, Amazing Grace, and Scotland the Brave. Rev. John Fencik, Pastor of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church and Bayonne’s former

9-1-1 Coordinator, offered the invocation. City Clerk Madelene Medina swore in the new police officers. Addressing the families of the new officers, Mayor Jimmy Davis said, “This is one of the best days you will have.” He added, “Your sons and daughters will be right in the middle of everything that happens.” Mayor Davis said that he and the City Council have the goal of giving the new officers “everything they need.” Mayor Davis, a retired police captain, called being a police officer “the greatest job in the world.” He urged the newly sworn officers to treat people “with com

Jersey City Newest Police Officers

28 New Police Officers, more than 80% Represent Minority Populations Decreasing Crime Attributed to Fulop Administration’s Strategic Efforts and JCPD Growth Mayor Steven M. Fulop joined Public Safety Director James Shea, Police Director Tawana Moody, Acting Police Chief Robert Kearns, and the Jersey City Police Department this morning to swear in 28 of the newest officers graduating from the police academy. As a result of the Fulop Administration’s diversity recruitment efforts, 80% of the new class represents minority populations to better

reflect the City’s diverse community. “Earlier this week, we announced historic progress in our fight against crime as we close out 2023 with the lowest homicide rate in Jersey City’s history and the lowest among the top 100 largest cities throughout the entire East Coast. We look forward to continued progress, and today’s graduates play a key role in expanding our public safety efforts and community building as they start their careers with the greatest police department in the state,” said Mayor Fulop. Since taking office in 2013, Mayor Fulop has hired 815 police recruits and made over 650 promotions within the JCPD. The newly sworn officers

the movie. Early reviews for THE BASTARD SON have been excellent as noted by itsjustangela11 December 2023 One hell of a ride!

I was quite lucky to see this film on the big screen at a local screening. I’ve always been a story-driven person, and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself completely immersed in the story of this film, from start to finish. What makes this film so immersive and gripping in addition to its brilliant writing; it’s in the amazing sound design and score, the direction which puts you in the middle of the action and emotions of each scene, and the talented cast who brought all of the characters to life. This film is sure to move and surprise even the most stoic of viewers. I’m usually a very tough sell on movies of similar themes, but I can honestly say, I left the theater wanting more. I’m hoping for a sequel (or prequel) story, because the characters are so darn good, I can’t help but want to know more of their stories. I highly and enthusiastically recommend this film!
