appy New Year, everyone! Welcome to 2012!
idea of a special end of year promotion to the table, a lot of our featured artists jumped on board with an infectious enthusiasm.
Before we fully kick off 2012, I’d like to take you on trip down memory lane. 2011 has been an amazing year that started off with months of preparation, research and hard work by Janet and Marianna. Two lovely ladies with a dream who wanted to create a platform to bring independent artists and music lovers together. Rising was born and landed its inaugural issue in May 2011. Every month we have showcased indie musicians worldwide, tried to capture the person behind the artist, and gave you access to free music our artists so kindly provided. It didn’t go by unnoticed and with your support, feedback and input the magazine grew and each new issue featured more artists than before.
For starters, there is a big giveaway coming your way in collaboration with a lot of our 2011 artists. We’ll be throwing a vast number of (signed) goodies, must-haves and very exclusive items your way! We already gave you a sneak peek at http:// risingmag.com/contests without going into details too much…that’s all about to change! Keep your eyes peeled on our Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr as we’ll be posting about the prizes in the coming days. More specific details, exact descriptions of the goodies and what you need to do to get your hands on them will be revealed as each contest launches throughout the month of January.
As the magazine grew, so did the Rising team and that’s where I come in. I joined the Rising team about four months ago as their Promotions Director with my main focus on –obviously– promoting Rising and all the featured artists via different channels, but also anything and everything to do with contests and giveaways. And speaking of contests and giveaways, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes at Rising the last couple of months… Fast forward to 2012 and welcome to a special edition of Rising! An edition solely focused on YOU! Why YOU? Because we want to thank you for reading Rising and supporting indie music…and we’re not the only ones! When we first brought the

By entering the contest you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. No purchase is necessary to enter or win the contest. Only 1 entry per person, multiple entries will be disqualified. The contest begins when @RisingMagazine sends out the official contest tweet and ends when @RisingMagazine sends out a contest closing tweet. Entries not in accordance with the Contest Rules will be disqualified. The winner will be announced on the Twitter account of @RisingMagazine within five (5) days after the contest has ended and he/ she will be contacted through Twitter (Tweet or Direct Message) or mail to email address information. The winner will have five (5) days to respond to the Tweet/Direct Message/email. If the winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond, a new winner will be chosen at random using a computer program. The prize will be sent out to anywhere in the world, unless stated otherwise, using our choice of shipping methods. Prizes are not exchangeable, nontransferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. If a prize should be unavailable, Rising Magazine reserves the right to substitute the prize with an equivalent for any reason. No responsibility will be accepted by Rising Magazine for lost, damaged or misdirected mail.
