Imperia 9/10

Pieces Of Eden Record Label: Escape Music

Released: 18 October 2013

Highlight of the album: Beast Within Website: http://www.impera.org/ Reviewer: Paul Nicholls

Impera’s sophomore release finds them treading a slightly harder edged sound encompassing straight ahead rockers and some really blusey tracks . Matti Alfonizetti’s voice is as usual top notch and truly world class, effortlessly holding the melodies Tommy Denander wrings from his guitar.

that you are going to get your money’s worth on this release.

It’s becoming more and more difficult to stand out this year because of the amount of great releases there have been (not a bad problem to have from the audiences point of view), but this album manages One track that I’m going to mention is a cover of that feat with a certain style In conclusion a winner Paul Stanley’s solo album of 1978, now much as this of an album which shows the depth of talent may shock you dear reader knowing what a KISS fan available in the band and as a second album truly I am …… in my opinion it’s the weakest song on the blows the dust out! release and would have been perhaps better being replaced with the bands own composition. There is no slacking from the rest of the band as JK Impera and Mats vassfijord are the dependable pumping heart of the band leaving there no doubt

Running Wild 9/10

Resilient Record Label: Steamhammer/SPV

Released: 7 October 2013

Highlight of the album: Run Riot Website: http://www.running-wild.net/ Reviewer: Lee Walker

Not being overly familiar with Running Wild I was somewhat apprehensive when I saw that the press release credits them with inventing ‘Pirate Metal’.

leaving it pretty near impossible to pick a fault with this release.

Overall this album proves just how resilient Running Opening track ‘Soldiers of Fortune’ kick starts Wild actually are and continues the constant stream ‘Resilient’ with a sound not too dissimilar from of quality bands that are coming out of Germany. Saxon, with its thundering guitar intro leading you headfirst into the traditional styled vocals of Rolf "Rock'n'Rolf" Kasparek as the song unfolds in front of you combining a nwobhm feel with teutonic power metal creating a sound which seamlessly merges the best of what the genres have to offer. Title track ‘Resilient’ continues the audio assault with its mix of traditional Germanic power metal providing the engine for this thundering guitar driven machine, as track upon track is hammered home with deadly accuracy by its mix of screaming guitars, pounding drum bursts and traditional nwobhmesque vocals
