Yes, all Canadian postage stamps from confederation on are still valid for postage. We buy so many collections of stamps that we end up with excess. We then sell them at a discount from face value. We make packages of 20 of the 61¢ domestic rates stamps and have them on sale price of $10.00. That is a savings of $2.20 from the face value. We also custom make up rates for clients. If you need international rates or oversize rates we will make them up for you. If you are an eBay seller and just want a range of denominations, we can supply you. It is always nice to save on mailing costs.

Glaucoma is an eye disease affecting the optic nerve (the internal structure connecting the eye to the brain), and is a leading cause of blindness. Vision loss due to glaucoma typically begins with peripheral or side vision, and the condition is sometimes called a “silent thief” because significant eye-sight can be lost before symptoms are even noticed. Your eye doctor may perform a peripheral vision test to detect early signs of glaucoma and related vision loss. Other risk factors, such as elevated eye pressure, family history, age, ethnicity, and suspicious optic nerve appearance also aid in the early detection of glaucoma, even before vision loss begins. Only your doctor can determine if you have glaucoma and compliance of regular eye examinations is the best thing you can do for early detection and to protect yourself from glaucomatous vision loss. Depending on the type and severity of glaucoma, treatment can include medications and/or surgery.

Great question. Firstly, your wood-burning fireplace should be in good working condition and have a safe chimney. The easiest way to determine if your fireplace and chimney are ready to switch to gas, is to have a certified Chimney Sweep clean all soot and debris from the flue and firebox. During this process they can note if any deficiencies are present. If so, they need to be corrected.

Strata Corp’s in B.C. are coping with the new legislation relating to Depreciation Reports. Strata complexes of 5 units or more have until Dec 13/2013 to obtain such a report or to opt out by means of a 75% vote at their AGM. Bill 8 names a “qualified person(s)” as those required to carry out a Depreciation Report.
