NAME OF BUSINESS: Goplin Insurance Agency, Inc. Year established: 1949 Tell us a little about your business: What do you do? We are a full-service insurance agency offering full service personal lines and commercial lines: commercial, auto, home, farm, health, and life. How many “neighbors” do you employ? Three. Teresa Goplin and Linda Kaufman live in Richland Center. Fred Goplin lives in Muscoda. Recognizing you can do business anywhere…why are you here? We love the downtown area. Anything can be purchased online anymore. Insurance can be complicated. Our customers deserve a personal experience in a comfortable environment. What’s the one thing you wish everyone “Thinking local” from left knew about your business? Our agents to right are: Linda Kaufman, Teresa Goplin & Fred Goplin. really, truly want to educate people regarding insurance. It’s important to us that people of all ages know what coverages their insurance affords them. We want young people to know how their life choices affect their insurance; grades, credit score, driving records, etc., have a substantial impact on insurance premiums. Whether a customer or neighbor, we hope people stop in and take advantage of our years of experience. What makes your business unique? Our agency spans three generations. Don Goplin started the agency with Gerald joining him. Fred started in 1980, and Teresa brought her loss control background with her in 2007. The Goplin family name is important to us. We are family-owned and run and we hope that shows! Other than providing jobs and paying taxes what are some other ways you give back to the community? We are active members of the Muscoda Chamber of Commerce and Fred is a long-time member of the Muscoda Lions Club. We regularly provide free advertising for other communities to celebrate their events. Our employees have served on local church boards, school organizations, civic organization boards, have volunteered in local schools, and at Get Real! for many years. The famous Goplin Insurance pencils are a big hit and we look forward to kids stopping in every September to stock up for school! Parting thoughts….please share anything else you’d like our readers to know: It is an exciting time to be located in downtown Richland Center. We hope people make a point to stop and see us and to patronize other businesses downtown when they do so. We are firm believers in shopping and thinking local any time we can. When we recently purchased a new building and remodeled it extensively, all of our contractors were from the local area. It is important that our customers notice that we want to help promote local businesses as much as we can and we hope that they emulate that thought process, as well. We appreciate this opportunity to promote our business. Goplin Insurance has been a part of downtown for decades. We recently moved into a new office and enjoy showing off our new space and our “old” staff! Address: 134 W. Court Street, Richland Center, WI 53581 Phone: 608-647-2114, TF 800.794.3519 Hours: M-F, 8AM-5PM and by appointment Website: www.goplininsurance.com
