A classificação nova não é definitiva e muitos pesquisadores já estão sugerindo mudanças (e.g. Grant et al., 2006; Chaparro et al. 2007). A classificação deve ficar mais estável no futuro, com mais pesquisadores apresentando mais evidências para corroborar ou questionar ramos particulares da árvore filogenética. No entanto, como tudo aconteceu em um passado muito distante, sempre permanecerão dúvidas sobre algumas relações. Neste livro, usamos a classificação antiga, por ser mais familiar para a maioria dos pesquisadores, e porque nos não queríamos consagrar algumas das mudanças que já estão sendo questionadas.
