Fred Hersch is one of the most highly praised, prolific pianists of his generation. He has crafted a signature approach to the standard jazz repertoire, breathing fresh life into time-tested classics with keen insight and extraordinary technique, whilst his own lyrical compositions show a disarming combination of quirky ideas and dazzling beauty.
6.30pm Carole Nash Recital Room Spotlight: Introduction to the Tuba Quartet Free admission, no ticket required
From the early 70s onwards, the Grammynominated Hersch worked as a sideman with jazz legends such as Art Farmer, Joe Henderson and Stan Getz and has collaborated with Charlie Haden and Bill Frisell.
