Photography & Videography Checklist


Preparing your home for photo and video shoots is imperative to ensure that your property is presented in its optimal state when our photographer captures it. Below is a systematic checklist to assist you in commencing your preparations: *Please note some of these items may not be applicable to your specific property.

DE C L U TTER AND CLEAN: ☐ Remove personal items, excess clutter, and unnecessary furniture. ☐ Clean all surfaces, including floors, countertops, and windows. ☐ Dust and vacuum all areas of the house. ☐ Pay attention to details like baseboards, light fixtures, and ceiling fans.

E X TE RIOR: ☐ Trim bushes and trees to enhance curb appeal. ☐ Clean or pressure wash the exterior of the house. ☐ Repair any damaged siding, paint, or shingles. ☐ Clean the driveway and sidewalks.

STAGIN G: ☐ Arrange furniture and decor to highlight the best features of each room. ☐ Use neutral colours and minimize personal items. ☐ Add fresh flowers or plants to brighten up spaces.

LIGH TIN G : ☐ Ensure all light bulbs are working and replace any burnt-out bulbs. ☐ If there is a tennis court ensure all lights are functioning properly. ☐ Open curtains and blinds to let in natural light. A helpful suggestion is to align all blinds at the same height, and if there are shutters, ensure all shutter slats are open. ☐ Use soft, natural light for a warm and inviting atmosphere.

K ITC H E N: ☐ Clear countertops of small appliances and clutter. ☐ Clean all appliances, including the oven, stovetop, and refrigerator. ☐ Remove magnets and personal items from the refrigerator.

BATH ROOMS: ☐ Remove personal items from countertops and shower/tub areas. ☐ Clean mirrors, faucets, and glass surfaces. ☐ Replace worn-out or discoloured grout and caulking.


BE DROOMS: ☐ Make beds neatly. ☐ Remove personal items from nightstands and dressers. ☐ Hide any visible cords or cables.

LIV IN G AREAS: ☐ Arrange seating areas for a spacious and inviting look. ☐ Hide remote controls and electronic devices. ☐ Ensure the fireplace is clean and the mantle is tastefully decorated.

PE TS: ☐ Remove pet bowls, toys, and litter boxes from view. ☐ Vacuum and remove any pet hair or odours.

OU TDOOR SPACES: ☐ Clean and arrange outdoor furniture. ☐ Mow the lawn, trim bushes, and sweep the patio or deck. ☐ Remove clutter from the yard. ☐ Remove the bins so they aren’t in view of any images. ☐ If there is a swimming pool, ensure that the pool cover is stored away, and that the pool cleaning device and any toys are out of sight.

FIN AL TOUCHES: ☐ Check for any maintenance issues (leaky faucets, loose cabinet handles, etc.) and fix them. ☐ Put away personal items like toothbrushes, toiletries, and towels in bathrooms. ☐ Consider adding fresh flowers or a bowl of fruit as attractive accents.

A few days prior to the photoshoot and video, confirm everything on the checklist to ensure your home is photo ready. Conduct a light test by turning on all lights, including those for the pool and tennis court, to ensure your power won’t trip during the shoot. By following this checklist, you can maximize the appeal of your home in photos and make a positive impression on potential buyers or viewers.
