Becks Bottled Art- Living beyond labels. This is a experiment based investigation of art and music with a focus on photography and packaging. Becks enjoys celebrating some of today’s most original artists by displaying their creative work on a series of limited edition bottles. In the past becks have collaborated with musicians such as LadyHawk, HardFi and MIA to create designs for the bottles.

The concept and direction behind my six designs started with thinking about and exploring the relationship between art and music. This brief came from wanting to visually represent music and frequencies to produce artwork to go on to the Beck’s beer bottles.

Final Posters. The packaging and six beers will be accompanied by a A2 double sided poster. One side is a blueprint of the packaging and the other side is a poster explaining the the concept behind the art work on the bottles.

We at Beck’s celebrate some of today’s most original artists by displaying their creative work on a series of six limited-edition art bottles. In the past becks have collaborated with musicians to create these designs for our bottles. We have decided to produce a set of 6 new designs for Beck’s. The Theame we have chosen to explore is the relationship between art and music. For this we made an experiment that evolved a sub woofer, an amp, water and corn starch. This was to visually represent the sound waves sent through the sub. We got some amazing results...

Becks Bottled Art- Living beyond labels. The packaging is made from plywood. The reason I chose to use wood is because wood is a natural material and it is very durable, meaning the product will be safe and the limited edition packaging will stay in tact to be used on another occasion by the consumer. ‘Living beyond labels’ gives artist’s a platform to express themselve. I did’nt want to take the focus away from the bottled art by drawing to much attention to the packaging. I felt that by using a material like wood, it would give the packaging a natural look and feel. I didnt want to corrupt the woods organic look and feel with unnecessary type and logos, however I still needed to associate the packaging to the brand. I decided to raster the Beck’s logo and the ‘Living beyond ls’ slogan into the lid of the wood through a lazercutting process.
