Dear friends and Eurovision Song Contest fans, It’s time again for the world’s largest non-sporting live TV event: The Eurovision Song Contest is back. Last year Austria won the Eurovision Song Contest, because the charming Conchita Wurst captured the hearts of millions television viewers worldwide with the song “Rise Like A Phoenix”. So this time this worldwide recognized event will be held in the capital city of Austria: Vienna, one of the most charming cities in Europe. People may want to visit the metropol for various reasons: relaxation, a romantic getaway, a cultural trip, or just for entertainment.

The magic of the Eurovision Song Contest is timeless and ageless. It has broken all frontiers and barriers. It has cut through differences of race, age and class. It is adored by the world – especially in Australia. That’s the main reason that the EBU has invited Australia to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest for the very first time. EBU Associate Member SBS (Special Broadcasting Service), who has aired the annual competition for over 30 years, has been asked by the EBU and Austrian host broadcaster ORF to send an entry to Vienna in May to celebrate the Contest’s 60th Anniversary. Guy Sebastian, one of Australia’s most successful music artists ever was selected to represent Australia with his self-penned R&B title "Tonight Again“. Which brings us to what we are about to hear and see during the forthcoming ESC: Mingling with the typical uptempo Eurodance musicstyle are more numbers that remind us of the melodic wealth of the past decades - especially of the Grand Prix de la Chanson years. Some ESC fans may regret the high share of ballads this year, but I think it brings back some seriousness to the contest that was missed by others during the last years. I am writing this introduction in an emotional state, which is characterized by human tragedies, wars and desasters. And influenced by the loss of two ESC winners: Udo Jürgens - the biggest selling ESC winner, apart from ABBA, died last year on December 21th and more recently, Guitarist Jørgen Ingmann passed away on the 21st of March 2015, at the age of 89. We will remember them both with special features in this webzine and to complete this journey down to memory lane we add a tribute and an exclusive interview with one of the most notable figures at the Eurovision Song Contest: the German record producer and songwriter Ralph Siegel, who has participated with 24 songs so far, more than anyone else in the world and who had won at least in one year - with Ralph Siegel's and Bernd Meinunger's song "Ein bißchen Frieden" (A Little Peace), performed by Nicole in 1982, He is a perfect example of the olympianesque ESC "Participation is everything"-spirit and a perfect role model for artistic endurance, which is not about giving up working or retiring. Therefore we think that the article about Ralph Siegel feature will add a special optimistic tone to this years ESC edition: Never give up, fight for your ambitions and dreams and for a better, peacefull world! Enjoy this edition and enjoy the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna. Reinhard Schnitzer on Facebook

Face The Shadow

The group Genealogy consists of six singers: Essaï Altounian from Europe, Tamar Kaprelian from America, Stephanie Topalian from Asia, Vahe Tilbian from Africa, Mary-Jean O’Doherty Vasmatzian from Australia, and Inga Arshakyan from Armenia.

We find so many ways fooling our heart Playing too many games trying to hide When you follow a dream, surrender the sorrow inside Face every shadow you denied Feels like so many times life was unfair Will you run and forget all the despair? If it’s breaking you down, remember the power inside Face every shadow you denied

Their song Face The Shadow was composed by Armen Martirosyan and lyricist Inna Mkrtchyan, a song about universal values. Its message is one “Happiness is born when people are united and live in harmony with themselves, their families, love relationships and so on. Generations are shifting with time but the genealogy remains, thus the values of love and peace are stable.

Time is ticking and you keep thinking that you are tricking your heart, so Chorus: Don’t deny Ever don’t deny Baby don’t deny You and I

Cross the ocean of blues, happy you'll be Оnce you’ve risen you are meant to be free When you're feeling afraid remember there's hope inside Face every shadow purified

And if we die , tomorrow What’ll we have to show For the wicked ways Down below The rhythm inside is telling us We can fly tomorrow On the beautiful wind that blows On a cosmic track, love attack I‘m gonna get that rhythm back

Aina Mun Pitää

The members of the band Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät are four middle-aged, mentally handicapped men, who formed the band in 2009 in a charity workshop for adults with developmental disabilities.

Aina mun pitää siivota Aina mun pitää tiskata Aina mun pitää käydä lääkärissä Aina mun pitää käydä töissä En saa mennä koneelle En katsoo telkkarii En saa edes nähdä mun kavereita Aina mun pitää olla kotona Aina mun pitää tehdä asioita Aina mun pitää syödä kunnolla Aina mun pitää juoda kunnolla En saa syödä karkkia En juoda limua En saa edes juoda alkoholia

Aina mun pitää levätä Aina mun pitää nukkua Aina mun pitää herätä Aina mun pitää käydä suihkussa

In 2009, Finnish director Pekka Karjalainen sought music performed by people with disabilities for the film Vähän kunnioitusta, which tells the story of a young girl with a learning disability aspiring to live an independent and normal life. Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät is featured in the film with their first-ever demo: "Kallioon!". The song became a hit, and the band soon discovered that they had a following outside the circle of disabled people. In 2012, their fame grew as they were the main subject of The Punk Syndrome, a Finnish documentary film. The documentary, depicting the band's story from its outset to their first European tour, earned them a following in Scandinavia and Germany. The band entered Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, Finland's national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Aina mun pitää". They entered the contest in order to raise awareness for people with Down's Syndrome. On 7 February 2015, the band was one of the three acts from the first-semi finals to advance to the finals. On 28 February 2015, the band won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2015, thereby becoming Finland's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. They will be the first punk band to compete in the Eurovision.

Beauty Never Lies

Beauty Never Lies In a shadowy world lived a dazzling girl Unaware of the light she’d imprisoned inside. Took a million mistakes to lead her to daybreak, But she made it through, now I know the truth! Beauty never lies, never hides, never gives a damn! Beauty never lies, no, it cries “Here I am!” Finally I can say , yes, I’m diff’rent, and it’s okay! Here I am!

Bojana Stamenov has been singing since she was seven. She attended even three sections in the secondary Music school – guitar, lute and renaissance singing. She was the finalist of the show Serbia's Got Talent in 2012, when she enchanted the audience with her magnificent voice and brilliant interpretation. The English text of her ESC title "Beauty Never Lies", was written by well-known international songwriter Charlie Mason, who wrote the song "Rise Like a Phoenix," which was the title of last year’s competition winner Conchita Wurst , whose victory brought Austria this prestigious music competition.

Had to shatter the fears laughing in the mirror Undermining me, now at last I see! Beauty never lies, never hides, never gives a damn! Beauty never lies, no, it cries “Here I am!” Finally I can say , yes, I’m diff’rent, and it’s okay! Here I am!

Beneath the veil of skin the heart’s entangled in, Beauty’s embodied! Beneath the mask of shame, my soul is set aflame!

Beauty never lies, never hides, never gives a damn! Beauty never lies, no, it cries “Here I am!” Finally I can say , yes, I’m diff’rent, and it’s okay! Here I am! Here I am!

Wars For Nothing

Boggie (real name: Boglárka Csemer) rose to international prominence in January 2014 after the music video to "Nouveau Parfum" ('New Perfume') was picked up by media outlets in various countries including the UK and USA. The video shows the singer being extensively retouched while she sings the song, which is a darker, French-language rewrite of "Parfüm", originally in Hungarian. Both songs feature on Boglárka's self-titled first album Boggie. The video and its message are similar to the Body Evolution viral video created for GlobalDemocracy.com to encourage the introduction of mandatory disclaimers on retouched images in popular media. Much like the model in Body Evolution, by the end of the video Boglárka bears little resemblance to her unaltered appearance at the start. A brief split-screen comparison shows the viewer how drastically different the final result is.

Can you justify all the eyes That will never see daylight Give me one good reason to hurt A helpless soul, break a heart, kill a mind.

Two verses in "Nouveau Parfum" consist of Boggie reeling off a list of designer label perfumes and asking which she should choose, before questioning why she should have to make a choice at all and asking who is making her choose. Boggie then counters this pressure with the lines, "Je ne suis pas leur produit / De beauté, d’préciosité / Ils ne peuvent pas me changer" ("I am not their product / Of beauty, of preciousness / They cannot change me").] The designer labels and subversive message were not featured in the original Hungarian lyrics of "Parfüm".

Do you know how many innocents Are hiding from punishment For crimes they’d never commit All alone, all alone, do they deserve

2015 started as a lucky year for Boggie: she was nominated as Glamour Woman of the Year, her videoclip for her single Nouveau Parfum got among the 17 nominees for the Highlights of Hungary awards and she won the Hungarian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Wars For Nothing.

To die for believing something else, For having a face someone can’t stand Do you know our earth is a mess All the wars for nothing, it never ends All the souls, all alone, hold them tight All the souls, deserve a chance at life

The Way You Are

The Way You Are

Philip Thornhill (vocals), Nikolaj Tøth (guitar), David Vang (bass), Emil Vissing (drums) are Anti Social Media; a pop/rock band inspired by the warm sounds of the 60’s. Their mission is to revive the simple and happy spirits of bands such as The Beatles, which leads to an all new combination of the old and the modern.

Summer's here, winter's gone Finally I can see the sun Every time you walk in to the room all my fears disappear When I'm in your atmosphere I don't know what it is you do But you do And I can´t explain why (Chorus) Its the Way you are Its just the Way that you are That Can make my Day Bad times go away Its the Way you are Its just the Way that you are That Can make my Day Bad times go away

Like an old radio, a song i just cant let go All i Got on my mind is you Movie stars and caviar couldn't get me where you are There's nothing I can do About it (Chorus) 1x And I'll be right there when you need Someone to guide you. Whatever it takes girl I will be doing it for you. 'Cause i've been acting like a fool I Wanna take my time And spend it all on you. So girl just come and sweep my feet of the Ground, like you do (Chorus) 2x

Because its all about you Because its all about you girl And I'm hanging on to every single word you say Its the Way you are Its Just the Way that you are That Can make my Day Bad times go away Its the Way you are Bad times go away Its the Way you are..

Merci . . . Udo Jürgens

* 30 September 1934

† 21 December 2014

Udo Jürgens, the Austrian-born star who dominated pop music in the German-speaking world and sold more than 100 million records and composed close to 1,000 songs in a career spanning five decades, died on December 21th, 2014, in Switzerland. Born Udo Jürgen Bockelmann, the son of a northern German mother and Russian father, was interested in music from an early age. Before the age of ten, he owned a harmonica and an accordion. His serious study of music started when he entered the Klagenfurt Conservatory in 1948. He started to compose his own songs and in 1950, at the age of 16, won 1st prize in an Austrian Broadcasting contest with his song "Je t'aime."

52 | 53

In 1952 Udo Bolan, as he was called then, formed the Udo Bolan Quartet In Klagenfurt, Austria appearing regularly at the Café Obelisk in Klagenfurt with Englishman Johnny Richards on drums, Klaus Behmel on guitar and Bruno Geiger on Bass. The quartet played regularly at various dance and jazz venues and also broadcast on Radio Alpenland and the British Forces Radio network produced by Mike Fior. Apart from gaining a reputation as an excellent jazz pianist, Udo Jürgens also appeared in several feature films during the years between 1958 and 1966. But the key career move came in 1960 when Udo Jürgens gained widespread attention because he won the award for best solo artist with his hit "Jenny" at the music festival in Knokke, Belgium. After this success he composed the international hit "Reach for the Stars" for Shirley Bassey and went on to compose songs for Quincy Jones and Sarah Vaughn, among others. In 1964, he represented Austria for the first time at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with the song "Warum nur warum?", finishing sixth. The song hit the number one spot in the french single charts but it was up to the -participant, Matt Monro, from the UK who was impressed with the melody to cover the song (with English lyrics by his manager Don Black) as "Walk Away," to reach No. 1 in Britain and No. 2 in the United States, by selling 1.5 million records. His song "Sag ihr, ich lass sie

grüßen" came fourth in 1965's contest, and on his third try he won the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 in Luxembourg with "Merci, Chérie", which became an English-language hit for Vince Hill, another cover by Monro, and was not only one of Udo Jürgens' most recognized compositions but also one of the best selling Contest winning songs ever by selling over one million copies. In 1967, he signed a new recording contract with Ariola and completed a number successful tours in both East Bloc countries and Western

Europe during the following years. While his compositions were being sung in multiple languages by international artists such as Brenda Lee, Sammy Davis, Jr., Bing Crosby, Al Martino, and Nancy Wilson, his songs were topping charts and winning awards all around the world. His 1970 mammoth tour of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Soviet bloc lands of Eastern Europe set a European attendance record at that time by bringing out more than 500,000 people for more than 200 concerts. It was evident during that period that his music changed from the french chanson influenced style to catchy German "Schlager" (hit) melodies infused his music with a growing social awareness. Best examples for his talent to combine catchy tunes with introspective lyrics were his 70's hits like "Griechischer Wein", "Aber bitte mit Sahne" and "Mit 66 Jahren". In 1978, the song "Buenos dias, Argentina" which he performed together with the Germany national football team became the biggest hit of hiscareer, reaching gold status in only 5 weeks and platinum in just 2 months. During the 1980s, Udo Jürgens received more airplay on German radio than any other artist and received music awards and professional honors too numerous to count. Album after album continued to top the charts in the German speaking countries and he was one of the most soughtafter musical guests in Germany's TV shows. But he also continued to tour troughout the world, adding new audiences in South Africa and China to an already remarkable fan base.

In 1993, he was bestowed with the ECHO Award and in 1999 an honorary Bambi Award for his decades of artistic contributions to German culture. In 1999, he used his celebrity and wealth to found a non-profit organization to benefit orphaned children and other young people in need of assistance. Despite settling in Switzerland, he remained passionate about Germany and its politics. He butted heads with the Catholic Church over abortion, right-wing extremists for using one of his songs, and the government in Berlin over economic and social questions. It will remain an incontestable fact that Udo Jürgens impact on the German music world is immeasurable. His musical contributions, including his admirable poetic use of the German language and his ability to artfully integrate the German language with a variety of musical styles, laid a solid foundation for the following generations of German-speaking musicians. Udo Jürgens performed his last concert on December 12th, 2014 during his "Mitten im Leben" tour traditionally in his adopted hometown of Zurich. The concert was, like all other dates of the highly acclaimed tour, sold out to the last seat. Public and the media critics agreed that this was the best Udo ever! His strong vocals resting within itself, unpretentious, yet capable to maximum pathos musicality, he was an entertainer with quality and sovereign stage presence. Two weeks after this last concert on Sunday, December 12th, 2014, the singer, musician and composer Udo Jürgens died while he was walking nearby Lake Constance caused by an acute heart failure. One of the most successful popular music composers and entertainers of Europe has unexpectedly left stage of this world as we know it. Ironically, Udo Jürgens, was for many a symbol of physical and mental health in a senior age, even as an 80 year old man. He, who has contributed "Mit 66 Jahren" (meaning "Life begins with 66") as a sort of motivational soundtrack for generations of retirees. This icon of agelessness died after a triumphant success in the exact .break from touring and at the height of his career. What sounds like a cliché, is reality: Never before his concerts sold out so quickly, as ahead of his last tour; his current recordings being charttoppers even in the difficult times of todays music industry. He left his fans in a state of shock over the loss of their idol and his musical legacy, that will leave an indelible mark in both the German as well as in the global popscene.. The Zurich concert impressively demonstrates how colorful and complex complex the musical spectrum of the chansonnier and classic entertainer in combination with the orchestra Pepe Lienhard remained: From the symphonic poem „Die Krone der Schöpfung“ (The Crown of Creation) to the legendary "Ich war noch niemals in New York” (I've never been to New York ) up to the party hits and ending on a high note with Udo performing his legendary bathrobe final. On the last live recording everything mentioned here and what Udo was well known for is included, and there is a fresh and vital Udo Jürgens immortalized who was still able taking easy jogs across the concert stage during his two hour performance. After initial doubts whether people wanted to see him at all, the passionate live performers enjoyed his last concerts more than anything and was seemingly pleased with the euphoric crowd who adopted him with standing ovations in gratitude. One thing is for sure: They will miss him during the remainder of their lives. We miss Udo Jürgens.

ørgen ngmann rembered

Guitarist Jørgen Ingmann passed away on the 21st of March 2015, at the age of 89. For most of ESC-fans he will be best remembered for having won the Song Contest on behalf of Denmark in 1963 together with his wife back then, Grethe, and the song Dansevise. But writing about their ESC victory would only tell a small part of Jørgen's accomplishments as an artist and first and foremost as a sort of role model for other aspiring guitarists. He first performed as a guitarist with Svend Asmussen, the jazz violinist, during the 1940s and early 1950s, in a group known as the "Swe-Danes". He was influenced by American guitarist and recording studio pioneer Les Paul. In the mid-1950s he set up his own studio where he developed techniques of multi-tracking and distortion, using his own accompaniment on bass and drums, and began recording under the name "Jørgen Ingmann & His Guitar". Under this stagename he recorded a version of Apache, originally recorded by British group, the Shadows. Jørgen's 1961 cover version charted at #1 in Canada, #2 in the United States (Billboard pop singles chart) and #6 in Germany. This chart success was followed by a string of instrumental hits especially in Germany during the early 1960's: including "Pepe" (1961 #15), "Anna" (1961 #19), "Violetta" (1962 #16), "Drina Marsch" (1964 #5) and "Zorba le Grec" (1965 #14). But Jørgen Ingmann remained very popular in Denmark too: His song Marchen Til Drina reached no. 1 in the Danish pop singles charts on 17 December 1963. Other recordings of his included Tequila (which he also recorded during the 60s, with the Champs) and a version of Pinetop Perkins' "Pinetop's Boogie Woogie" (from 1962).

Playing With Numbers Do I owe you something I think I do They tied our hands But I cut through In the arms of the potion They found our truth And I made a girl Abandoned youth and Made the mess in your vision and See a debt to be paid To give a little love was all that I wanted Give a little love was all my intent and I Was playing with the numbers and I didn't know what it meant

Molly Sterling grew up in Puckane, County Tipperary. She was educated at Kilkenny College and then at St. Andrew's College, Dublin, where she is currently a 5th year student. She first came to prominence after winning the Tipp Teen Idol contest in November 2011, winning a Popstar Studios recording prize. On 27 February 2015 she was selected to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with Playing With Numbers, a song Molly and songwriter/producer Greg French co-wrote as part of her upcoming album. The song was written about the risks people take every day in love and in life, and the experiences of taking the road less travelled.

Please don't remind me I won't be your muse Fragile misguided minds like mine Only know how to use Whil I played with white lies and fiction Unbeknownst to you I played the victim Well that was the last time I faced you and Made the mess in your vision and See a debt to be paid To give a little love was all that I wanted Give a little love was all my intent and I Was playing with the numbers and I didn't know what it meant I can watch from afar from my art on my Own all along I was lost I was wild this is Wrong I can't force this just watch as the surface Surrenders it all

A Monster Like Me

Silent Storm

Debrah Scarlett (real name: Joanna Deborah Bussinger) is a Norwegian-Swiss singer. Scarlett was born in Hakadal, Norway but was raised in Switzerland since age 5. In the fall of 2013 she made an impression on many Norwegians with her distinctive voice through her participation in The Voice on TV2. Since then, she has played a number of concerts in her two homelands. In August last year, she moved back to Norway, and now she hopes to start a music career here.

Honey, I'm telling the truth I did something terrible in my early youth My mind went blank, I lost control I was just a little boy, I did not know I better let you go... To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me Honey, what am I to you Now I have pulled the trigger on this awful truth Oh hold me now, cause I'm burning up Sing me something beautiful, just make it stop I better let you go...

Kjetil Morland comes from Grimstad, but has lived in England most of his adult life. This has had a great influence on him as an artist and songwriter. With the British band Absent Elk Kjetil released an album "Caught In the Headlights" produced by Toby Smith (Jamiroquai). Last autumn Kjetil moved to Oslo to establish himself as a solo artist under the name Morland. He works these days on his first solo album, which will be released later this year. But before that it will be Mørland & Debrah Scarlett with “A Monster Like Me” who ended up being victorious at Norway's Melodi Grand Prix and therefore will represent Norway at the Eurovision 2015.

To find the prince you thought you found in me I better set you free and give you up Just wave and say goodbye and let you live Without a monster like me

Wait for me don’t cross the sea of pain Wait for me I’m lost I’ve gone astray Ravens calling my name, their wings so dark Soon they’ll take me away, I have their mark They never miss their prey There is no light to pray for Cold and dim are the skies Wounded lying Running out of life In your eyes I could see Our hopes and our future Now we must let go

Hour Of The Wolf

Hour Of The Wolf I hold my breath, I´m on the edge Storming hills, I´ve been lost and found I hope they're coming, I can hear them running I once met peace, he said that he Soon would have the answers to this hurt And my mind was made up, I would never give up No I won't sleep tonight If tomorrow comes I'll lose my mind I won't give up my right, I know every heart deserves a fight I will beat on the drum, rise above with me I will go till I'm numb, rise above with me No I won't sleep tonight

They whine and roar, hungry for more Yellow glowing eyes, I’m hypnotised I feel brave yet scared, but I'll stay prepared Oh have my soul, it’s destined It’s written in the sky Let me not be blinded by this hurt Set him loose I’m ready For the stars to guide me No I won't sleep tonight If tomorrow comes I'll lose my mind No I won't sleep tonight If tomorrow comes I'll lose my mind I won't give up my right, I know every heart deserves a fight

Unbroken

María Ólafsdóttir, occasionally credited as María Ólafs, had a small role in a play, which was staged by The National Theatre in Reykjavík in 2003. She played the role of Louisa von Trapp in the Sound of Music in the Municipal Theatre in Reykjavík in 2009 – the original movie of the show is one of her all-time favourites.

One step at a time out of the darkness one foot in front of the other. One step at a time into the distance a new path I need to uncover. I‘m letting go. Go.

One step at a time get out of the darkness and into the light forever. One step at a time I pick up the pieces try putting them back together till I‘m unbroken. Unbroken. One step at a time get out of the darkness and into the light forever. One step at a time and I got a feeling it‘s either now or never.

In the same year she played the part of a young Michael Jackson in a tribute show at Reykjavík‘s Broadway Club. In 2014 Maria took the leading role of Ronja The Robber‘s Daughter in Mosfellsbær Theater Group‘s production of Astrid Lindgren‘s play of the same name. Maria started working with the StopWaitGo songwriting team in 2012 when still a student at Verzunarskóli Íslands high school. When the StopWaitGo threesome wrote the song Unbroken for this year‘sSöngvakeppnin the guys had Maria in mind and the song perfectly fits her vocal range. She agreed to sing the song but did not expect to win the contest, so the victory came as a total surprise.

I‘m letting go. Go. One step at a time get out of the darkness and into the light forever. One step at a time I pick up the pieces try putting them back together till I‘m unbroken. In The Name Of Love

In The Name Of Love

Monika Kuszyńska entered the Polish music scene in 2000, when she was selected as the new vocalist of the Polish pop rock band Varius Manx. In 2001, she released her first album with the band, titled Eta. The following year, she released her second album with them titled Eno. On 28 May 2006, Kuszyńska along with the other band members of Varius Manx were involved in a serious car accident in Milicz. The accident resulted in Kuszyńska becoming paralyzed from the waist down and having to use a wheelchair.

Every time you’re brokenhearted Sinking in the sorrow Feel the emptiness and have no faith No strength to breathe I wanna tell you It’s gonna be better You've got the greatness within you Beyond the fear Let’s build the bridge From heart to heart In the name of love

In February 2010, she was replaced by Anna Józefina Lubieniecka as the lead singer of Varius Manx. In June of the same year, Kuszyńska performed in public for the first time since her accident during Dzień Dobry TVN. In 2012, she was one of the coaches for the Polish version of Clash of the Choirs and placed fifth. On 9 March 2015, it was announced that Kuszyńska would represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "In the Name of Love".

Every time you struggle with the fear about tomorrow Call the angels for their guidance Find the other way I wanna tell you It’s gonna be better You've got the greatness within you Beyond the fear Let’s build the bridge From heart to heart In the name of love Beyond the fear Let’s build the bridge From heart to heart In the name of love (x4)

The Makemakes

I Am Yours

I Am Yours

The Makemakes, founded in 2012, are: Dodo (Dominic) Muhrer (vocals), Max (Markus) Christ (bass) and Flo (Florian) X. Meindl (drums). Their bandname is derived from the dwarf planet Makemake, which in turn owes its name to the creating deity Makemake in the culture of the Easter island.

Anytime that you’re thinking of me That you might want me I’ll come on over Don’t you know Anytime, anyplace I am yours You’re a lesson that I love learning So any time that you’ve got a yearning Don’t you know Anytime, anyplace I am yours You’re what I belong to The one thing that feels true Everything I could ever want If you ever need me I’m waiting on you To walk right through that door Anytime, anyplace I am yours

Already one month after they were founded, their first single "The Lovercall" showed up in the domestic charts. The band became known in 2013 through its appearance as opening band for Bon Jovi in Vienna Krieau. And their single "Million Euro Smile" successfully made it to the charts in 2014.

On 13 March 2015 The Makemakes were chosen to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "I Am Yours". The song was selected through a national final organised by the Austrian broadcaster Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF). Austria automatically qualifies to compete in the final on 23 May 2015..

If you're hoping for second chances of Stolen kisses I got the answer Don’t you know Anytime, anyplace I am yours You’re what I belong to The one thing that feels true Everything I could ever want If you ever need me I’m waiting on you To walk right through that door Anytime, anyplace I am yours Uhhh You’re what I belong to The one thing that feels true Everything I could ever want If you ever need me I’m waiting on you To walk right through that door Anytime, anyplace I am yours Anytime, anyplace I am yours

N'oubliez Pas

Lisa Angell, of Italian descent on her father's side, participated from the age of 11 to 14 in several radio talent shows in occasion of the Nice Carnival. She was declared the winner in four consecutive years. At the age of 15, she began classical singing training at the Conservatory of Nice but she quit shortly after. She did not stop singing and made it her profession, performing piano-bar in the Côte d'Azur. Lisa settled in Paris in 2001 where she met Didier Barbelivien and he wrote "Des années après" for her. The experience was not convincing and Angell went back to the Côte d'Azur. In 2009, Dani Lary invited her to his show Le Château des secrets. This collaboration resulted in another song, this time with Patrick Sébastien in the studio of Le plus grand cabaret du monde. The latter proposed her to perform on Les années bonheur, and produced and wrote the songs of her first album Les Divines released in 2011 with Polydor. It peaked at number 31 in France and number 86 in Belgium. Produced by Philippe Swan, her second album Des mots… was released in 2013. Preceding the album, the first single was "Je saurai t'aimer". It was a cover of Mélanie Cohl's song that is the French adaptation by Philippe Swan of "The Power of Love" by Céline Dion. Since September the same year, she has participated regularly in the weekly show Les chansons d'abord on France 3. For the album Nos fiançailles, France/Portugal by Tony Carreira, Lisa Angell accompanies him to make a duo singing "L'oiseau et l'enfant". Her third album Frou-Frou was released on 21 April 2014. This album of covers pays tribute to female performes of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.

Quand ils sont arrivés Cachés derrière leurs armes Ils étaient des milliers Ils riaient de nos larmes

On 23 February 2015, Lisa Angell was announced to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna on 23 May 2015, with the song "N'oubliez pas".

Ils ont voulu détruire Nos croyances et nos âmes Avec des mots de haine Que l'on n'connaissait pas.

Black Smoke

Ann Sophie was born in London, England to German parents. At a young age she and her family moved back to Germany where they settled in Hamburg. Since age When you look at me, you know you're hard to read. four she has studied ballet. In 2010, she passed the Abitur (the school-leaving Because the face I see is not the one I know And when you call me baby, what's that supposed to mean examination qualifying for admission to a university) and moved to New York to attend the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. In 2012, she released her debut I don't know who you are, how long can we pretend See the change I know we both don't have the heart to say single "Get Over Yourself". Can't return to what we were, it will never be the same Cause you said you'd never let me go And I said I can't but now we know that it's Too hard to say three words Too hard to make it work When there's nothing left to talk about Cause you know the flame is running out Two hearts are left to burn Do you know, we're only left with smoke Black smoke, we're only left with smoke, black smoke

In 2015, Ann Sophie was revealed as one of the ten undiscovered German artists competing for the wildcard spot in Unser Song für Österreich. She performed the song "Jump the Gun" and was selected as the wildcard winner after receiving 24.1% of the vote. She competed in Unser Song für Österreich with the songs "Jump the Gun" and "Black Smoke". The latter of the two advanced to the final round of voting where it placed as the runner-up behind Andreas Kümmert and his song "Heart of Stone". However, Andreas Kümmert later declined the opportunity to represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest, and Ann Sophie was awarded with the chance..

I tried to tell myself, that it's all in my head But the truth remains we're just too far apart. You know were fooling ourselves if we hold on, Cause were fighting for something that we don’t want Just leave it now and walk away See the change I know we both don't have the heart to say Can't return to what we were, it will never be the same Cause you said you'd never let me go And I said I can't but now we know that its Too hard to say three words Too hard to make it work When there's nothing left to talk about Cause you know the flame is running out Two hearts are left to burn Do you know, we're only left with smoke
