Value-added promotions such as this support the goal of being one of the “funnest places to eat in town”, says Riley. With 176 guestrooms and suites each with their own private patio or balcony, the Best Western is located near the heart of the city’s retail district. Besides shopping, dining, and relaxing in their indoor pool or onsite Wellness Spa: The hotel offers Winter Wine Getaway packages complete with guided wine tours.
There are almost 200 wineries in the province of British Columbia divided into five major Designated Viticultural Areas (DVAs) including: Vancouver Islands, Gulf Islands, Fraser Valley, and the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys. The majority of the wineries are located within the south central region of the province stretching from the Tappen Valley in the north Okanagan to the southern desert of Osoyoos. Wine connoisseurs may also note that within the DVAs there are specific sub-regions where special characteristics of terroir are acknowledged such as the Naramata Bench, Golden Mile and Black Sage. A picturesque, leisurely and short drive from the City of Penticton is a unique collection of vineyards, wineries and culinary experiences known as the
