SPORT CLUBS The Texas A&M Sport Clubs Association provides the opportunity to compete against clubs from other collegiate institutions at the state, regional, or national level in 36 different sports, and allows members to learn or enhance their skills in a recreational setting. Each club is administered by students, has practice times and facilities, and receives some monetary support. To help subsidize the cost of travel and equipment, clubs may charge dues and participate in fund-raising activities. While the Sport Clubs staff and the Department of Recreational Sports assist clubs in securing needed funds, facilities and equipment, the emphasis is on student leadership and development. Students are directly responsible for all aspects of operating and managing a successful, competitive organization. As a result, Sport Clubs present a unique opportunity for students to develop both athletic and leadership abilities. Since 1974, the Sport Clubs program has captured over 250 overall team and single-event national championships and hundreds of conference championships. For more information, the names of current club representatives, and Sport Clubs event schedules, visit the Sport Clubs Office in the Rec Center (room 250), call 979.862.1996, e-mail sportclubs@rec.tamu.edu, or visit our website at recsports.tamu.edu.

ROOM 243 (8,600 SQ. FT.) - One of the few rooms in the Bryan-College Station area that can seat up to 500 people in one space. The hardwood floors, silver colored theater curtain, and relatively private area on the second floor make this an ideal site for large gatherings. OUTDOOR TERRACE WITH PREMIUM VIEW OF KYLE FIELD (15,000 SQ. FT.) - This venue will seat approximately 280 people and includes dining tables, sofas and chairs. An outdoor kitchen with two gas grills, a small refrigerator, a warming drawer, and marble counters complement the space. ROOM 2221 OR 2224 (1,900 SQ. FT.) - This room can seat approximately 100 people and features mirrored walls on three side walls, a wall of windows, and a balcony overlooking Blue Bell Park. ROOM 1130 (3,453 SQ. FT.) - This first floor room with a private patio seats approximately 200 people. The wall of glass with ground-level view into Blue Bell Park offers the best of two worlds: air-conditioned space for guests to enjoy an event indoors, and outdoor seating for those who wish to enjoy the fresh air.
